OMG Event with no eek bubble and no link
Many users have reported getting rare events with either no bubble by their avatar to indicate the event, or no 'if you can't find your event, click here' link at the bottom of the page, or sometimes both. If this happens to you, use the link below to collect your event:

3. Forum/PM Issues

My posts were timewarped! June 19th
After implementation of the new forum code, posts in many threads that had been edited were reverted to former versions of the posts. It is unknown at this time whether or not these 'timewarped' posts will eventually be restored to the most recent versions as of the time of the forum code going live.
My thread has totally disappeared!!!/My thread is missing posts! June 19th
Those will hopefully come back, though it cannot be guaranteed. Staff is still working on recovering some of the thread and post information that was misplaced during the implementation of the new forum code.
My thread subscriptions are gone! June 19th
If you lost subscriptions to some threads when the new forum code was updated, these will probably not automatically come back at any point soon. However, you should be able to re-subscribe to these threads.
Memberlist errors May 8th
The memberlist is currently not working for names. Some searches for names turn up nothing, despite the fact that users with that name do indeed exist.
Workaround (partial)
Using the search function and searching for a person's threads/replies allows one to locate a person who has posted recently. Some looking through threads may be necessary and it will not work if user has never posted or been inactive for a while.

Some users are able to send PM's but not receive them. This issue is known and being worked on. If you're experiencing this difficulty, please report it here:

4. Guild Issues
Anything Affecting the Gaia Guild Network (GGN)
Unable to confirm creation of Guild
Some users report that they are not able to confirm creation of new guilds, despite having the 20k required to create one. There are no known fixes at this time.
5. Inventory / Item / Event Issues
Issues related to Items your Inventory
Unclickable Items Jan 28
In the last week or so, many members have experienced difficulty with buying items in stores and trading items via the bank. When clicking on items in the stores or at the bank, nothing happens.
A workaround has been found, though it may only work for some users. Workaround information can be found here:

A few people have been getting that error. Please PM Dri if you have recieved the message saying exactly "Error found in your database"
6. Avatar Issues
Character Creation, Red X's, Equipping Problems
Avatar preview shows as red X / "Error adding save request to the queue. Please wait a moment and save your avatar again."

7. Exchange/Trading Issues
Anything that affects trades done through the bank or purchases/sales in NPC stores.
Bank Trading Error Jun 30
When trading, some users are getting the following error message:
"Trade confirmation failed because trade number ______ had already started."There are no known fixes for this issue. It sometimes resolves itself after a few hours, a few days, or a week. Currently being worked on.
Giftwrap/Engraving Down Mar 12
Currently, items cannot be giftwrapped or engraved. When trying to perform either function, the following error message is received: "Item cannot be found in your inventory. Please refresh your page and try again" There are no known fixes at this time.
Trading Pass Difficulties Feb 13
Some users are also reporting issues with trading passes where the bank shows them the option to buy a trading pass, yet tells them they already have one, and won?t allow them to trade saying they need a trading pass.

8. Vending Issues
Everything that affects the Marketplace.
"Your Store is Full" Feb 15
Some users are getting an error message: "There were one or more errors while processing your request Sorry, your store is already full" though their store has less than four items in it. If you experience this, you please contact a moderator and they should be able to help you with it.
Transaction Locks #1/Expired Items Feb 15th
Update Mar 7: Locks should now not last longer than about two days. If you get a lock on an item that fails to clear up within two days, please report it in the
*** Transaction Locks (Read first post, report here) ***The transaction locks affecting a majority of Gaians occurs when an action taken in the marketplace 'fails'. This causes the item to be locked, and does not allow any further modification to the item listing by buyers or by the seller. The item also 'expires' but remains in the marketplace. The seller cannot confirm/accept bid or do anything else with the locked item. This is a known issue and is being looked into.
Transaction Locks #2/Unable to sell Feb 15th
The second transaction lock prevents sellers from placing any item into their vend stores. These should also clear up within a couple of days. If they don't, and you have a vend account and get a transaction lock error everytime you try place something for sale, please report in this thread:

More Expired Items Feb 15th
There are also items that were placed up for 'auction' and do not automatically send to the highest bidder when the time expires, and require the seller to go in an manually 'accept' the bid. You can tell the difference between this and a transaction locked item by viewing the item history and seeing whether or not the last action on the item says, "Fail!" If it doesn't say fail, the seller might be able to manually accept the bid.

LinkList Gold Disabled Jan 27
Hinata
Gaining gold from posting new links in the Link List has been temporarily disabled due to an abuse by certain users through either spam or through botting.
With the abuse of the Link List comes the possible effect of damaging the Gaian economy.
Until it is fixed this will be in effect til further notice.

Art Arena Refresh
AA is sending people to the main page of the Art Arena instead of moving on after voting. There's nothing to be done to fix that, it will need to be looked in to by the
admins.
Linklist - Cannot Post Reviews
Update 8/Aug/2004: The link list is functioning now (users can browse) but you cannot post a review still. (loads white screen)
There is no ETA on resolution of the linklist being down. Comments cannot be posted to the linklist at this time.

10. Fishing/Casino/Homes Issues
All things to do with Gaia Homes, the Casino, and Fishing
House icon not displayed
Since the forum update, the icons at the bottom of users posts and in their profiles to link to Gaia homes do not display. To view a users home, if they have one, first view their profile and take the number at the end.
Example:

This works for viewing anyone's home.
Fishing Buckets are not always saved (D bait?)
Users are reporting that when fishing with D bait, although the scores are recorded, the fish are not being saved to their inventory. There have been a few reports that indicate it may not only be D bait as well. There are no known workarounds for this at the moment.
11. Password Scams!

Hacking
Hacking is when you go into someone elses account and take their gold or items or use their account to break site rules.
90% of hackings are not truly a hacking,
But a friend using another friend's account to do things
without permission.
If a friend does this to you, your friend will not be unbanned.
If a moderator or administrator DID ask for your password, they should be reported! So no matter what account the PM comes from, what story it has, or what the e-mail address is, NEVER give your password to ANYONE.
If someone claims to be a moderator, you can check! Moderators' names will be listed in the appropriate color: purple, teal, or green (or orange in the case of administrators). If they don't have a colored name, they aren't staff; report them to an online moderator immediately!
Other common password scam schemes to beware of:
Never input your Gaia username and password when the URL that you are viewing does not start with: www.gaiaonline.com or if the warning alert that you are viewing an outside website is showing.
Never download 3rd party programs that claim to be 'Gaia Bots', or to earn you extra/fast gold. If they really are bots, you will banned for using them. They may also contain viruses, trojans, keyloggers, or other malicious code that will allow the scammer to obtain your password information.
Never give your password to someone on AIM claiming to be a moderator. They are lying. Real Gaia moderators will not ask for your password, even off-site. Remember that simply because someone says via IM that they are an administrator or moderator does not make it true. And if it were, you should report them, not give them your password.
Never fill out surveys that ask long lists of personal questions. Gathering personal information about other users is a TOS violation, and these surveys are also often attempting to find out the answers to your security questions so that they can access your acccount. Global Gaia Moderators handle abuse and harassment reports, as well as oversee moderation throughout the site
Omnimoderators handle account issues, including hacking and scamming reports. Talk to these moderators about problems you may have with your account, items, and inventories
