The economy: not loving it.

Am I the only one who has no love for paying 20k for a pair of shoes? That might just be me. I mean, I can understand that for the items users set the prices for. Something's old and rare and it took effort to get, okay. But does every shirt, pair of pants and crazy pair of socks need to break the bank? I've been watching this trend since the fairy wings, and I don't think it's helping.

Actually, I think it's increasing the prevalence of scams, hacking and price manipulation, meanwhile taking more gold and therefore more control out of the hands of honest users.

What do y'all think? Is the "economy" a good thing?

Well, I never minded paying 10-30K for store items, back when I had more pure gold, because I thought that was actually a good thing. >.< now, with less gold, I'm more wary about spending it like that. Though, if it's a nice item, I'll pay for it. :3 like back when fairy wings were the only back wings, 40K wasn't too much to ask.

It's a nice attempt to suck gold out of the economy though. xd I just wish they'd be a bit more discreet about it.

Egh, users in marketplace who do this are just being silly. ~__~; it was silly before the store price started being listed, and just sillier now. What's worse is that people will buy from them. gonk

and the donation letters. XD; I actually would trust the Exchange for cheaper prices than MP~

I've noticed some worrying trends too... guilds made for the soul purpose of polling. Someone sent me an invite, saying you can make over 1k in a day. Thats 1k of freshly printed money. x_x If everyone can do that, then things are gonna be very strange in months to come. There needs to be more gold drains, IE good minigames that offer few rewards and cost to play.. 3nodding

oh, in the stores.. well, we need some gold sinks. it's good for the uhh.. economy. bao and the fairy wings are the only major gold sinks available now, so.. yeah, I'm glad they're there. <,<

Most of the items they introduced in Liam's store are about 20k, and they introduced a lot at once, sooo...those.

I'm afraid those prize items would quickly get so common and hated as the hockey mask (and would cost about so much), so soon people would stop wasting their gold.. just like on neopets- just about every item you can win is worth almost nothing. ):

hrm.. I'm no good at economy.. but my friend explained to me earlier why we need gold sinks (like gambino donation drive). Without them, the worth of money would gradually become lower.. or something.. but I'm not arguing, I'm not a specialist. sweatdrop

Thats my point, make the rewards extremely tough to get, or not have any at all. 3nodding If the game is addictive, people will pour gold into it.

Well, honestly I'm not sure what to say. They're trying to suck the gold out of the economy in the best way they can, I guess, but no way to really control it.

I have noticed the trend in new store items though. And people thought it was bad when the maid set and Belted set came out. XD

I nearly shat myself when I saw the price for the new Baos. That's just a little too much for such a small avatar item. I could understand if it were extremely rare, but...it's not, and it never will be. Same with Fairy Wings. But then again, they'd be too common if terribly cheap so meh...I guess I'm neutral on this.
