Oh boy. I'm sure we've all had this moment in our Gaia lives. We find the perfect item for our outfit/cosplay only to check the Marketplace and see that the item is either waaaaaaay too expensive or (in my current case) not even listed!

I've been searching for a few days now for anyone willing to sell SDPlus O.Renji. I want the doll of one of my favorite NPCs, plus, I want the goggles for my attempt at his current outfit cosplay (and I'm a sucker for head-goggles in general).

So, what happens? Do you save up/wait for a listing? Do you go with a knock-off? Do you just scrap it altogether?

... Yeah, I usually suck at coming up with engaging topics.

I know the feeling gonk I really like the "Navy Black Checkered Hoodie" but it was from the MTV shop. Since the shop is closed, I can't buy it there anymore, and there was none listed on the MP! So I made a Wanted topic in Exchange. Five minutes later, someone listed the item for 2 MILLION GOLD eek Yeah, I was not going anywhere near that.

Luckily, someone else listed it for 350k. I PM'ed them and asked if I could buy it cheaper, since it's not worth that much (as the going rate at the time was 15k-20k). I got lucky; he let me! I was able to buy it for 20k 4laugh

If it's too expensive I just give up. I'd rather buy many cheap items than one expensive one, no matter how good it would look on my current avatar (which I tend to change quite often).

That happens to me quite a bit when making cosplays. Worst thing is when I had the item then sold it thinking I wouldn't need it. Took me forever to get the Warm and Cool Jellohs back. Usually if it's too expensive, I wait around to see if it'll drop... especially when it's been AI'ed. Sometimes I'll try to come up with an alternative, but sometimes you can't been the real thing. When all else fails, quest, quest, quest!

Wensleydale Prep pants. A couple times I went to buy them and they weren't listed. I wet to buy the SDPlus Jabberwock the other day, and it wasn't listed. I bought the Jabberwock in the exchange to Vend, now there are 5 people listing it.

I know what you mean. I been trying to get Nicolae's SDplus, and it has not been listed for a little while. Then when it gets, it's more expensive. I'm like FUDGEMYLEGS. GRRRRR.

Been waiting for someone to sell an SDPlus Ron Bruise for a while now. The My Gaia section also keeps telling me one is up for sale but that's a lie because it doesn't appear in the graphs, when I go check it out. No-one's selling one in the Exchange, either.

I don't think that doll will ever be in a price range where I won't have to go broke and sell off my most expensive items just to get her. It'll never be like the Dante and fall to a price range I'm comfortable paying.

This was my EXACT problem with Solair.
Like 3 days before it came out I had spent 2 days trying to find the perfect pair of pauldrons for an avi I was working on but nothing worked. Then I saw the announcement and at first I was like " rolleyes oboi another stupidly rare frilly chickmagnet item" but then I saw the pauldron pose and the price and I was like scream emotion_facepalm emo
So I devastated my inventory getting it but dem pauldrons were totally worth it emotion_dealwithit

Ah, the one problem with the one item I am now 'questing' is the fact that there aren't
even any knockoffs of it. emo

I really wanted to buy the Mai doll because I need the nunchaku. They're my
favorite weapon. And I've come up with a story for one of my characters to
use them. There's a lot of meaning and thought put into this. scream

But there hasn't been a listing in a while. And I fear that if I ever made a wanted
board in Exchange, assuming it would actually get replied to with a seller (which
I doubt would happen whatsoever), the person would want a s**t ton more gold
than it's even worth. Because people are douches.

I just save my gold, bide my time and sit here bitching internally for the most
part. But really gayuh, why the ******** is there only ONE nunchaku on the site.

Interstellar bounty, for the goggles, and White Russian, for the belts and leg dagger. I find nice goggles are hard to find, and there isn't anything else that looks like the belts from White Russian.

...And, of course, both items are consistently around a million gold.
