As mush as everyone wants to complain about club verge and everyone that spends their actual money on this site getting some sort of privilege on here I'd like like to say thanks.

I've spent a good amount of money on this site over the years and really it's about time that gaia gives privelages for spending more. Face it, if it wasn't for everyone spending their hard earned money on this site we wouldn't have all the events, features or anything on here.

Yes it did start as a free site, but really it could only stay that way for a while. If they're giving an exclusive shop to the big spenders then so be it. I work in the retail world and know how it is, if the people that spend hundreds geta bit of an incentive then so be it, they are after all the ones that keep this site running after all.

I think all this "money hungry" Gaia thing is rubbish, face it. After all they are the ones that keep this site running year after year so why not give them a bit of an incentive to spend more?

Tip of the hat. Our lovely devs and artists have to eat, too, so I see nothing wrong with Gaia attempting to encourage people to support the site financially.

I never understood why Club Verge was a problem. After all, it is a store where most Gaia's won't be able to afford the items that would be listed. By making it a club some people may but the effort to get into the clue just to see what the hubub is about. More ways for Gaia to get money, which I don't see anything wrong with. I also felt that they were saying thank you to people who went out of their way to spend money here on Gaia, so I never understood the point of all the complaining.

I haven't donated to Gaia (or bought any GC) in over five years and never did in large quantities, and I will say - I really don't care if other people who do spend money on the site get features or items that other people don't, especially since it's a really minor part of the site. Everyone has different financial situations and monetary priorities, and if for some people it's Gaia, that's their decision, not mine. In the mean time, those people are giving Gaia the revenue they need to stay afloat and Gaia rewards them by creating some items and content that are primarily accessible to people who are willing to pay. That's true of nearly every site/game that expects to last more than a few months, and it really shouldn't surprise anyone that wasn't born yesterday (and if you were born yesterday - you better read up on COPPA laws xD)

And really, Gaia is not nearly as bad in money grubbing as most other online communities/games - there are wayyy more features available to free users as a proportion of the site's offerings than nearly every other comparable site, and way more opportunities to get real-money items than almost all similar sites/games I've seen. After all, if you can play zOMG and Booty Grab for a few weeks to get even the most expensive cash shop items on the MP, it can't be that bad.

So yeah. Speaking as someone who has no particular loyalty or identity to Club Verge members or other frequent buyers of GC, I still think it's nothing to worry about.

THANK YOU. I feel like most of the people are just finding something to complain about every moment. If you don't want to spend money, fine, but don't look down on those that don't have a problem with it.

It's great to see a thread like this. I don't want to say how much money I spend on this site. So it's really nice to have a place like Verge where we can some recolors and updates. The backwings are kinda expensive but if you save up every little bit and it's not your birth month, they're still obtainable. It makes it nice, sorta.

You put it very well. Over the years I've spent a good bit if money in the site but really I see nothing wring with it. People spend money on things that they enjoy right? So how is this any different? Its kind of nice that we get something extra even though we never expected it.

I don't think it's bad. It's just as similiar as going to a casino to gamble. I know there are VIP areas with only 500.00 minimum to play certain games and is intended for those high rollers who really like to take risks with huge payouts. Not everyone can afford it but it's there to reward the player if they win. But the choices are there and not required to enjoy and get items.

I do not see how Club Verge is a reward for the amount of money we have given them... the reward is to spend more than the amount it takes to get into the club for one item... some of which are only one pose at that?!?

I do not have a problem with a special store, especially the idea of the SD Plus doll of yourself, but to call it a 'reward' is ridiculous.

For those that are trying to compare this to the 'high rollers' in casinos, those players really do get perks and incentives when they go to those casinos... really discounted penthouse type rooms, discounts for their meals and shows, etc. Club Verge on the other hand gives no discounts and actually does the reverse and is selling items that cost almost more than anything they have ever sold in the regular cash shop before (of course some of the recent summer sales items compare to the prices of Club Verge).
