but why. who cares if inflation gets worse. its not my problem. im considered poor on this site now. and that bugs me. however. its the portion of the site who give in the gaia cash bullpoop that cause the inflation.

its a website. does not change your real life in anyway regarding money and stability untill you let it control you and people take this place way too seriously and get all butt hurt over everything. i think the tax thing would add and extra fun little thing to get once a year without having to really do anything.

sorry if this has not been mentioned before but i didn't want to sort through 7 pages of this but: tax returns would also not even help the poor. let's say that over a year, one user pays only 20mil in taxes. another user pays 300mil in taxes. the user who spent 300mil would be vastly compensated in this system, giving them more freedom to buy more items and jack up prices, whereas the other user would only get 10mil back (under your system). this would not help them at all, seeing as other users are running about with 150mil and more from their 'tax returns'.

i mean i only have 22,000g right now after spending stuff on a quest so i do understand in a sense, but i am also confounded by the lack of regard for the economy

I'm sorry but there is nothing "fun" about your idea.

A tax refund would just make inflation even worse. You said that you're poor on the site how would your idea make you not as poor? It wouldn't. You would still be poor. Sure you maybe get more gold but you still wouldn't have enough to buy anything in the marketplace. But you wouldn't be the only one who got more gold. Everyone would get the tax refund. Which would make items in the marketplace even more expensive then they are now.

If you are so Who cares about inflation and such, then why care about getting a "tax refund" so to speak... is it just because you dont have pixels that would give you "status" among the community?

The community is not about "status" items... it was about hanging out with friends and interacting with other people...

So what if you dont have a "status" item... I mean would I love to have an angelic halo? Yea I would, but just because I dont have one does not mean I want gaia to hand me gold that was taken away to COMBAT the problem of inflation...

would it be nice? yes, but it would be things like inflation that would keep us from having things...
bad enough items that were once 100m or so are now 1bil+ and nearly impossible for newbies to attain, just think of adding billions on top of that out to the users... those items could potentially at that point go into the Trillions and even more after so many years...


look the concept would be a nice idea, but in the long term that would be the absolute last nail in the coffin for this site, and we all know we do not want such a thing to happen to what some of us consider a home away from home..

You know, I came across this thread and a while but really bothers me is how people feel they must get gold back. Like you need a hand out just to get started.

Onto topic: No, we shouldn't get 50% of our gold back that you sell in the mp. There is a fee already there. We don't need no more.

If you want to blame something put the blame on gold generators and suck it up like you do in irl. Find some way to make gold.

Edit: Inflation is everyone's problem and until the community realizes everything will get more expensive.
