So who wants to start a discussion about where he got which part from?

And theories about his past?

Well, according to his journal, he believes his nose came from a florist, and that he has parts from various other professions.

His past? Hmm, I'll have to think about that...

Yeah but what other professions does he have attached to him? especially the odd pieces part?

And how does he know which piece came from where? Did he have a file on names of the deceased or live people who donated their parts to him?

Hmm, well, his feet definitely came from a secretary or something, I mean, LOOK AT THOSE HEELS! whee And maybe he has a bit of accountant or something in him, and his eyes definitely come from two different people.

And knowing him, he has it all on file. The name of the person, age, gender, profession, part used, etc.
I assume he has parts from both genders, once again, calling attention to the HEELS, but not forgetting that he's male where it counts.

(This is one tough cosplay, but I do love me some Stein so he was worth it. XD)

And you know, I agree that he must have every piece of himself on file. XD He's definitely the type to do such a thing.

Back on topic: Okay, we all agree he probably has where his various parts came from on file, and we know he has pieces from various sources. I'm assuming he was created by someone else who sewed together all the pieces, so who created him? Because he sure as hell didn't sew himself together from a bunch of parts! And where did they get the parts?
