To me, BATTLESQUID sounds like a guttural man attempting to sound threatening and turns about coughing out of breath when he's finished speaking.

I find myself reading in my own voice, I suppose. But, I tend to pronounce words with the British English way of talking.
Like Grass.. using the A like the A in Car.
I really hate the American accent for that. What you guys do to A's makes me want to kill things.

I read in my own voice, which of course to me is unaccented, but to you it would be. I'm from South Australia and I sound like a cross between British and a regular Aussie accent.

My friends and I even get asked if we're from England when we go interstate sweatdrop
