So i've been here 9 years.....how long will you last?

Its hard to think Gaia has been around 9 years.
We've all seen people come and go. Make lasting impressions on us. Some for good, some for worse.

Things we've did, say, met throughout the site.

I don't know why I keep coming to the site. I get bored quite easily. People around my age aren't as common. But I keep coming back. I always said, you don't leave Gaia, Gaia leaves you.

So to all the new blood or not so new blood oldbies:

What keeps you going to the site?
Any users that made a lasting impression on you?
Any words of wisdom or advice to share that'll keep someone motivated into coming to the site?

I'd guess so if still interested me. Its kinda hard to come back when most of your friends have gone.

I stay because there's no pressure to stay or leave. I don't pay a regular fee and I'm not forced to constantly log in because my friends might start hating me or something. I'm still having fun by dressing up, chatting with others and playing mini-games - with the occasional event to spice it up a bit. Gaia is a relaxing entertainment website that I can easily log into at lunchtime and/or when I'm bored.

I can see myself staying here until forever.

I've been here for five years now. I was super active for about two years, then less and less ever since. I log back in whenever I'm bored, I've made so many friends and memories on this site which is probably why I keep coming back, even though all those friends left years ago. When I finally graduate college I'll probably either be on this site a lot more or quit all in all.

To keep coming back to the site, the most important thing IMO is to make tons of friends through the forums. Second, make a lot of gold.

I've been here since June 04. Was here quite a while then got sidetracked and took a break. Now I come back every once in a while and play around a bit, then take a break again for a while. It's a cycle. But I still come back.

Today's actually my 8 year anniversary. I wish I'd discovered the site earlier but oh well, can't have it all.
I have always been active, only switched accounts a couple times (this is my main and oldest account) and the longest I've been away was three weeks on a most involuntary hiatus.

I stay because I love how the site is always changing, growing.

They are what keep me here. After all my items/gold are frittered away, I hope I still have those people that mean the most.

Screw Gaia and the events and items, it's the community that keeps me going.

Flash Games (zOMG & Fishing Mostly) + Greed me coming back.

I think making virtual gold in the exchange and playing the flash games is what makes gaia fun for me. Even if I don't have anything I want to save up for; sometimes I just feel like trading for profit. It feel a sense of satisfaction when I'm making lots of gold.
