I thought they were just making them give out more gold.
That's the impression I got from this post; it's in reply to a user saying pink links aren't worth much.

I usually wait until I get five to open them, so I'm rather relieved I still have four. xD Can't wait to see what I get from them. Though I am tempted to try to sell them for a fair chunk of profit.

Pink links are the only form of a giftbox I ever open really.
Cuz they so ******** pink and shiny, omg. Can't resist.

Maybe now I will actually get some worthwhile sum as opposed to 100g.
Considering my luck does not exist. Any helpful tweak is appreciated.
