My favorite NPCDAD is Peyo's.

I'd like to see how Ian taught Rufus to talk.

Also, as Ian's brother, why doesn't Liam, er, Louie have a pet?
And have dander getting on all those nice clothes at his shop? Ye gods. Edmund would have a fit.
is Edmund still dead/missing/whatever?

Can Gaia's vampires turn into a swarm of bats? If I were a vampire, I'd just not reintegrate my big toe or something and keep a pet that way. Toebat would be my best friend.
I was just thinking on how I really wouldn't mind seeing Rufus spend some time with Louie, for a change. Have they ever even spent time together? Maybe Ian takes in another talking cat (like Jet the Kitten star, who could've gotten tired of hanging out with Rigel & Mintaka and started looking for a new family, or the talking sky cats shop kittens from MoGa), and Rufu gets jealous and decides to move in with Louie, if Ian can't appreciate him, anymore.
as much as I dislike Gaia's near-constant focus on vampire characters (and zombies) in the plot, I think also wouldn't mind seeing Louie and Ian spending more quality brother time with each other; maybe going on their own little adventure to rekindle their bonds or something.
Rufus should run away to Rina so Ian could turn to Louie in his sorrow. Then they would go on a zombie killing adventure because hahaha, but Gaia's version of PETA would show up to save the Grunnies/Prunnies/whateveries and Rufus could save the day by giving a heartfelt speech in Ian's long history or care and kindness to him, and also because Rina is insane.

And then there would be dancey-dancey.

Festive Investigator

I think his crowning moment is the first page of Stranger Danger 2. He's there standing in dramatic wind saying he's going to try to stop the madness.
Sadly next week he's getting chased by cotton balls and outlaw coat wolves.

Toebat...Amusingly funny name. I love it!!!

Edmund against pets...so why does he keep Gino around? /shot

But seriously, I agree: Edman does not seem like a "pet" person

What would people consider Ian's “shining moment”?

Personally, for me, there is a lot to choose from, but I'm pretty sure his actions in the MMVII movie were not among them... Not because of how bad the MMVII movies were (because I thought they were impressive, given that it was created by Gaia)... I guess... Since everyone's been bringing up Hallowe'en... I find myself feeling rather nostalgic and I think Ian's "shining moment" was sometime during 2008, maybe during the Prom, maybe during Rejected Olympics, but I thought he was great during the Hallowe'en Hysteria (aka the Stranger Danger Manga) cat_whee

What more would people like to know about Ian?

Well... I think you kind of covered all the immediate questions that come to mind... But... Talking Animals... We have Rufus, Carl (Actually, I don't he talks cat_sweatdrop ), Radio Jack, etc, but... Don't know where I was going with that... Hmm... Wasn't Ian's shop called Gambino Boutique? So... Did Ian, originally, support Gambino's take over of Isle de Nativ (which is what Isle de Gambino was named originally)? I feel like I'm missing something here cat_sweatdrop

Gino's eyebrows should count as pets on their own. gonk Maybe Edmund's favorite animals are caterpillars!

I'm sorry, I don't see how a proclamation is any kind of crowning moment- especially if he didn't deliver.

I'm not even sure that Ian was around when Gambino bought, took over, and renamed the Isle. Considering how much older gambino is, ian would've probably been a child or up in his teenaged years, at least, when that happened; and either still living in the manor with Vladmir, or, if after those events- with his adoptive family that handed the Boutique down to him. So I don't know. In either case, I don't see why Ian would support the takeover of the island.

I guess my question was whether or not "Gambino Boutique" was something Ian came up with or if that just happened to be the name it had when it was given to him cat_rolleyes Of course, considering the age difference you pointed it out, it is very unlikely that Ian came up with the name (and probably wouldn't have known about the take over of the Isle either)... However...

...Since it was handed over to him, by the adoptive family, does this not then open up the possibility that his adoptive family was, in fact, supporters of Gambino (or, at the very least, had come to accept Gambino's reign over the Isle), which would make sense if they owned/ran a shop called Gambino Boutique? cat_neutral

There is that possibility that the family showed support to Gambino by changing the name of their shop to "Gambino Boutique" after the takeover. Seeing as how Ian said the shop had been in the family for generations, it's very likely the shop was named something else, prior to the takeover of the Isle. Though it's also a possibility to consider what the name before "Gambino Boutique" might've been, If it was something more suited to the feel of isle de native, before it was renamed and made into a casino town, then the family might've had no choice other than to change the name of the shop to reflect the change of the Isle, whether they were supporters of Gambino or not.
And since the shop was on Ganbino's land, once he bought the entire island, couldn't he have bought the rights to the shop and changed the name, himself; which was why I recall Gambino's name being on the deed, which would explain how gambino eventually was able to so easily take the shop away from Ian, once it was passed down to him, since it was rightfully Gambino's property, after that.

I think you're right about them probably having no choice but to change the name of the shop, since it probably would have been a good business maneuver as well (although, imagine, a Nativ Boutique! cat_xd I wonder if it would have carried Polynesian themed clothing). Of course, that rasies an entirely new question altogether... I mean, about the adoptive family: Were they Natives of Isle de Nativ or did they immigrate to the Isle de Native before the Gambino take over? Maybe Ian's adoptive family is a mixture of both cat_surprised (BTW, do we even know what a Native of the Isle de Nativ looks like? cat_eek ).

Although, seeing as the shop had been in his adoptive family for generations, I have to wonder how they got bought out by Gambino... As in, were they only renting the property the boutique was on originally and that land got sold to Gambino, hence why his name is on the deed? Or maybe the money they got for selling the rights of the boutique to Gambino is what funded Ian's move to Barton, among other things?

Alien Sweetheart

I had always thought, when Ian was brought to him, Gambino sent him away as quick as he could. It was up to Edmund to find a family for Ian and he kept a good watch over him, and Gino as they grew. I wouldn't be surprise actually if Edmund was actually Rosie's brother or something like that......in fact now I kind of have a headcannon that it might be true...hmmm...

I honestly would really like to see a story about Ian, Louie and Gino. I want to see how these three would act around each other and all that. I mean for Gaiasake, Gino just found out he has brothers, and Louie and Ian have been able to reform their bond. Why can't Gino get some of that? Would it be strange for all of them? Gino and Ian at one point both liked Sasha, how would that effect them? Gino's know Ian all have his life, what does that do to him mentally? How does Gino get along with Louie? I want to know these things!! I would love to see bonding between them. I don't know why but I just get a feeling that their mother would be super displeased to see them not with each other. And not happy. I mean she did go back for her other children, even died trying to bring them back to her new life.

I've always wondered what would have happened if she did do it. Got them and went back to Gambino. I wonder if their personalities would be different or the same.

It would be interesting to look at the old Manga when Gino first showed up and look at it as if Ian knew Gino was his half-brother. He was so jelly.
