Hey Gaians, The new Gaia co-ed softball team is called Gaians Gone Wild! Like the name? Thanks for all the great name suggestions -- the decision was hard. The name is a tribute to you, our great users! Wait 'til you see the shirt designs our artists are coming up with for our team! Would you be interested in coming to one of our softball games to help cheer us on? The games are played near San Jose, CA Airport on Thursday nights around 6pm. We'll make it a party and have our "chicken mascot" doing some crazy moves, and have you all create a ruckus to shock/awe the other team. We'll also hand out some free Gaia Gold while you're enjoying the ice cream and hanging out with us. Let's call it "Member Appreciation Night." I can get Lanzer out there too for autographs, pictures, and chillin' with you in the bleachers. Does anyone want Kiki to show? We'd love to have you there if you can make it (will probably be April 24). Leave me a comment here if you think you can make it and I'll add more details to this post if/when this idea firms up. We'll need a minimum number of users showing up in order to make this happen so tell all the Gaians within driving distance of San Jose. biggrin If we end up doing this, we'll make sure to post pictures/video for those who can't make it. Tae Co-Captain Gaians Gone Wild EDIT 3/12: Date confirmed for Thursday, April 24th at 5:45 pm. The field is located 5 mins away from San Jose, CA airport. If you can make it, or even think there's a possibility, let me know (email me your RSVP at membertalk at gaiaonline dot com -- reformat address). We need to know how much ice cream to buy and free Gaia shirts to bring! biggrin And yes, we'll take lots of pictures and video for those of you who can't make it. Oh man, we'll give away 5,000 10,000 free gold to the user who travels the furthest to hang out with us!!! (proof required) EDIT 3/14: A co-worker suggested that we should choose one of our users to pitch the first ball of the game. How cool would that be! We'll see what we can arrange. Interested? What if we gave away a softball that's autographed by the entire team!?! You GOTTA be there! And feel free to come dressed in avatar costume (or each person spells out the name Gaia on their bodies, etc). EDIT 3/28: We're working out the party details so I'll have the exact address and a list of what's going to happen that night. Check back here soon -- it's going to be awesome with 100+ people there. I'll need to know your username, how many friends you're bringing, and from which city you'll be coming from. EDIT 4/15: There are now so many people coming that we're going to make sure the ice cream truck brings double the amount of the original order! xd The exact address of the park will be posted here in a few days, so check back soon. Oh, and we'll provide dinner during the game too! Our opponents will be the same team we played and lost to in Game 2. So we have extra incentives to win, especially in front of all our Members! Details again: Gaia "Member Appreciation Night" softball game on Thursday, April 24th at 5:45 PM in San Jose, CA. We're going to have a large turnout, so you might want to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on the grass, in case the bleachers get filled quickly. <snip> Look me up when you're there and say hi!
