I mean his very first origin, ie angel who fell, demon spawned in hell, sorcerer who sold his soul for power, I just kind of want a baseline origin story of just Mephiste, no other characters.

Well, he's quite involved with things containing hearts, love, etc. So perhaps he became a demon because of a broken heart.
