If you could make an EI or REI...

I personally was always of the opinion that big-scale EI's should be made to please the vast majority of the users. Now, this isn't to say that they should be a bit of everything. Zodiacal, Compass of Seidh, and Gough Reed were a bit of everything and I personally do not find them to be that good - they aim to please everyone and yet no one at all.

What I'm talking about is taking a look at styles and themes that appeal to the majority of Gaians and dedicating an EI to ONE of them.

REI's should be for specific niches of users. They are smaller, cheaper, and less-involved items that could really boost many-a stylin' spirit without the general "baaaaw" over having to spend so much money and not having every pose just so.

So, here are some of my EI ideas:

1. A pick-one Lolita-Style EI => Demographic: People who love cuteness and frills
A user would have to pick male or female Lolita-themed EI where every evolution would reflect a different Lolita style. Source: Lolita Fashion
And yes, this means that males would finally have PANTS with every evolution! Isn't this awesome? By the end of the EI, each distinct Lolita style would have hair, eyes, accessories, full costume, and a pet.

2. Anime Classics EI => Demographic: Cossplayers
Each evolution would feature a knock-off outfit of a beloved character from old-school anime. Card Captor Sakura, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, etc.

3. Film Noir => Demographic: Vintage lovers
We're not talking about Case of Pietro. We're talking about an honest to god murder mystery in the 20's with dramatic make up, tophats, sexy leg mods, old cars, sleek guns, tobacco and liquor paraphernalia, sassy motels, provocative companions, police dogs, dim streets, risque lingerie, and classic Hollywood hair.

And here are some of my REI ideas:

1. Zodiac-themed REI
We've had two Zodiac-themed EI's and they are terrible. Is it any wonder they are terrible? We have one poor artist sitting there trying to come up with ways to make clothes out of Zodiac animals for 12 months at a time. I'm surprised that Mishiri and Fayren hadn't committed suicide by month 6. What we need instead is one month per Zodiac and different people doing each REI - whomever has the inspiration this months takes a shot.

2. Classic Film REIs
There can be a series of REIs done after silver-screen masterpieces. Gone with the Wind, Titanic, Lord of the Rings, True Grit - there are many people who would love to dress up like their favorite characters but few who love all the classics. It'd be cool to have REI's that honor one great movie at a time. Hell, there could be a poll to decide which movie is next.

3. Season-Themed REIs
Four seasons and four REIs. Equal number of male and female poses in each REI. Pets and backdrops are welcome. New artist for each. Again, they do get bored after a while and it shows (see seasonal wedding collection).

I'd make all my oc's wardrobes & hair, many many wigs and eyes, more hair altering items and make-up. More basic clothing items for the guys with a few unique ones and gradient items.
Probably a few more wands & swords too.

Hmm... I would possibly make a design like what I thought Custom Cut was going to be about. Hair. Lots of hair. (not like Gro-Gain either...). Charting an apprentice hairdresser's rise to owning their own salon, with progressively more outlandish styles. Maybe something like the Agape scissors that instead trims off bangs, or the side hair?

An Oz evolving item. Start off with a farm house & a Gingham dress & move through some other items. Possibly a stage for Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Wizard & Glinda? Or of course, there's lots more in the Oziverse out there that people don't know about if they've only seen the film. Tiktok, Jack Pumkinhead, Ozma, The Hungry Tiger... I don't know how much you could fit into one item though. Also- this item would have lots of pants, and no body mods. Unless they were skin mods.

I could make pages and pages of ideas to get here. So I'll only list a very small few.

I had idea, it could be for either, was a toy inspired one. It would have the toy item itself and then a few outfit items based off that toy. Rocking horse, we'd have the toy and then say a horse wig, or wooden skin, or a dress that fits the horses design, or a pants that bell out like the rockers of the horse. A toy top, a ball, a doll, building blocks, a bike a hula hoop. Things like that. I would love to see people really think outside the box for that and see what kind of items they could think up based off those toys or more toys.

The next one could work for both as well depending on how much they put in it.It would be about fairies and the wee folk and the like. If it's a EI though, the plot would be about the different kinds of fairy folk and lore in the world. Not all are nice or pretty looking. I would love it if many looked like the kinds of fairies Brian Froud draws. It be awesome. The wearer would meet these fairies, get items based off them and it ending with meeting the Good Queen Fairy or the Bad Queen Fairy. Maybe there would be two of these EIs one following more of the good side while the other more of the bad/naughty side.

The last I would like to be a EI, I would love a Legend of Zelda like theme. Not saying one that is, but something based off the idea of someone rising and becoming a hero, having to go against many trials and fight many baddies. The items would be be what they find on their quest and what they find in the places the fight in. Boss battles and what. Even the items would be based off the big baddies too! This item would be neutral base as possible. There would be a few dresses and what thrown in, but also would be more boyish pants and suits too but its far more fun to make it so everyone can wear something or have an item they love!

Yes but an artist shouldn't pick an item to make if they don;t like it, I mean by putting your own style into something it makes it yours and possibly something you make for yourself.

An EI based around different kinds of wigs for an avatar, obviously a salon type. It would also be gender neutral, so there would be an equal amount of hair items/poses for male and female avatars.
