None of those features are what make Gaia great. You can ake a really nice, super cute avatar with very little gold. You just need to work for it a little. Games, polls, Booty Grab... or just have fun posting in forums and you'll make some gold.

EDIT: I don't like all the things you mentioned as well, but I don't think that Gaia "sucks bad" just because of those few things.

Gaia needs real life money as usual, that has never changed. They just now have different ways of getting it, I don't mind. I love seeing the new items that are out now and with the newer EIs.

I don't mind the other things, not all of them are bad...it's just a matter of opinion to some.

Chances are the store will come back and will be adding new things to it including the other older items that are a large gold sink. Users have been asking for it and it makes sense to me with all of the lotto wins and with the large amount of gold that users are getting.

When I started 5k was a lot. But they made gold super easy to get now. Gaia's currency is inflating because gold enters the system faster than it leaves. When you buy non-gold shop items you are not taking gold out of the system your wealth stays the same and the gold just circulates. The only way to stop this inflation is for people to spend very large amounts of gold in the gold shop. Can you think of a gold shop that sells items for a large amount of gold that would help stop inflation?

I think they suck pretty well, actually. They're a business, so they have to suck. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to stay on their feet.

But they suck in the best of ways because we're not being forced to pay to post on the forums, play the games, or even get items. I think the Oni set was the only one where you had to pay cash for something soulbound, and it went down horribly, so you can technically get any item with gold if someone is selling it.

I have never used cash on this site and I'm not complaining. Gaia is in the red as it is, so I'm fine with them trying to raise money. I could make a stronger argument that Gaia sucks badly because GCD threads are becoming more complaintastic than ever with many people not having enough evidence to support their argument. Oh, and I'm pretty sure Catastrophe only costs 49 cents.
