I'm not sure if it would be a US-only item. Sure, it's probably easier for them to get license for US, but I've read somewhere they are trying to get the newest anime released as worldwide as possible, so maybe there's a slim chance such license will be easier to get for worldwide purpose. That said, I prefered the manga to the anime in the past, and I have to admit I really feel like re-reading it now XD
