Same here. Leg mods always look so skinny compared to the rest of the avatar, it looks totally off.

Why do you people like them so much?

Thats like asking why Barbie has been, is still, and continues to be popular, despite the obvious anatomical impossibility of her proportions cat_rolleyes
People, Gaians especially, are not concerned with what is correct, anatomically speaking, as much as they're going for a look; As with (certain) Anime, anatomical correctness is a non-concern, for the most part, of Gaians cat_3nodding

BTW, I'm not a fan of leg mods cat_wink

Why the hell, do people use those stupid things anyway?

You seem a bit more upset about this than concerned/curious... Might I ask why leg mods bother you so much, at least, if others use them? I'm just curious is all.. cat_3nodding
As I said before, its a look thing, nothing more cat_rolleyes

What is so great about them?

Greatness is, like beauty and love, in the eye of the beholder... Who clearly needs glasses in most cases, but... That aside... I personally do not find them great... I mean, I do like a few leg mods, like the faun legs, but the dainty, pointy ones don't do much for me cat_rolleyes
Especially those legs from the Shadowlegend cat_xp
I really, really don't care for the blind master's pants leg mod, because I think they're ridiculous and, well, make me feel like my avi will end up being top heavy cat_lol
However...
... If others enjoy them, think they're great, I'm cool with that too cat_3nodding
Seriously, for example, just as I think the Zodiacal is highly-inaccurate-overpriced-piece-of-shite, others think its the greatest thing since sliced bread... So... My point being... Just because you dislike something, doesn't mean people don't have the right to enjoy them cat_wink

They look out of place... that is why I do like them... unless they have the same kind of bulk as the default legs...

Hair and eyes... I find normal... but... legs too skinny do not look right.

Eh... I like some of them because of the cool poses, but they're extremely limited. I usually just end up layering with the normal legs. However, they're well worth it if you can find something that matches it perfectly.

It annoys me that they have become so popular because they often skimp on the pants and shoes in place of them. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a problem. They are far more limiting since you can't layer other leg accessories with them and they are often so small that my clutter whore avi's look like they are going to topple over

I hate the fact you have a hell of a time trying to accessorize them, if it's even possible.
There are a few leg poses I like, but not many.
I do not get why people like cats... I guess you can't like everything that others do, right wink

I like the way some leg mods make an avatar look more confident.
They don't work with all avatars or all styles, but I love to see the avatars people make with them.

I really like leg modes, I find them cute personally. A lot of the time the default is too chunky for my tastes and oddly positioned.

It's called worshiping the artists >_>

I dislike most of them, except for one I use. These purple ones, I forget the name. Anyhow, you're right about most of them not matching the bases but if they're balanced right with other items you can mask the awkwardness and make 'em look okay.

Most of the time though you wind up looking like Popeye, with tiny feet and giant club arms. Well at least most males do. I dislike arm/torso mods more because most of them really limit what you can do with your avatar. Guess leg mods do too, you are basically stuck with whatever the artist gives you.

Just highlighting this because I majorly disagree. xp

If you play around with the arm mods and are willing to get creative, you can make a great freaking avatar. If that sort of thing is your style, that is.

Plus, arm mods hide the Little Lucie make-up compact, which most users don't like having to hold, and I love having my floating teacup from the Little Lucie as well.

Also, towards the OP, I think most of the leg mods have far better anatomy than the base avatar. Considering the muscles in the base avatar are like hunks of swollen meat under a skin bag, and for females the base has these crazy jelly-arms with no muscles at all.

As a side note, you seem to be using your personal preferences to say that all of the leg mods 'don't look right.' At this point it's not really a discussion, more of a rant, so I'm not sure why there's even a topic made if you're going to ask why we like them and then reply with, 'Well they don't look right.'

Or, you know, maybe people just want to have fun with their avatar and aren't that worried about it?

Hehe, i see what you did there. emotion_awesome

I want more feet mods, not leg mods. I want to be able to put on different pants or skirts~ emotion_kirakira
They give the avatar a little more life and movement. I really enjoy the open-stance mods (lion tamer, steamgear desperato or w/e, saint ciel) because it evokes power and a certain amount of personality.

Are all of them great? No, of course not. The slacks in the pale marionette are awful and I don't much enjoy the pigeon-toed pointed-in look of the latest cash shop items but they're certainly not all bad, and sometimes it takes a certain person to wear them right.

Not really. When I like a leg mod it's because I genuinely like using them, it's not because I worship the artists. So again, it's personal preference.
