no I'm fairly sure they were two sepereate months. That was when I was able to donate to Gaia Regularly and I know I got my Fire Gauntlet before my ice.

They did come out in different months.

Ice: November
Fire: December

Best weapons you can find are in the maket, like my gauntlets or a pitchfork. Other weapons you can find in shops: bats, hammers.

There are plenty of weapon on gaia.

Pitchfork: For poking

Staff of Angels: For bonking n00bs on the head

Baseball bat: To swing at things

Pimp cane: To beat your hos

Ceramic mug: Great for smashing people on the head

Bottled cooler: Also for smashing over the head or jam the sharp edges in someone's face.

Cig: For burning.
