The only way to reach corporate is to let them suffer where it hurts: sales.

But consider who you burn when doing so.

At this point, there's four options, really: revolt and abhor spending, and try (most likely fail) to get the entire site to do it so they'll listen; give up and carry on; continue this same tired dance relentlessly until your voices run too coarse; leave the site and move on.

First will absolutely get people fired. Especially high chance of people we actually like. Especially a higher chance this will backfire so hilariously, Neopets would be considered tame as to the fate this site would garner. Second is honestly the best option, as it's pretty clear what's happening has been ultimately decided despite our input or thoughts. Third, well, you know. Fourth is an option every single person will deny and ignore, or else try to argue how "that shouldn't be a possibility ever".

Face it. Gaia's evolved, it's a full on business now, and this is where it's headed. If anything, just wait for economic collapse and see what goes from there; otherwise you can sink, swim, float, or just get out of the damned pool.

In all seriousness though... it's okay to not like what Gaia has been doing. It's perfectly fine to post your opinion on various ways the users could attempt to get HQ's attention to stop certain things from going the way they're going.

The general issue with this is that people are lazy and generally hard to organize. Especially since you are talking to the majority of gaia. These are people who mostly get on here for fun, because this is a forum-based website.

You make an account for free. You bump and post on the forums for free. You get gold from playing zOMG, Booty Grab, Posting on the Forums, for free.

The only money you pay is through the cash shop, for items that you either keep or sell for more gold. Even then gaia does not sit on your face and steal your wallet. You choose to pay them.

You don't pay gaia to play their site. You pay to enhance your experience on gaia, or to up your prestige in the forums.

If you walked into a restaurant and sat down and said 'I really dislike that you have shrimp on the menu', the waiter would tell you that the establishment sells more than just shrimp and that you are free to order anything else. Now imagine trying to boycott the restaurant because it sells shrimp.

The restaurant is never going to close because shrimp is tasty and there will always be so many more people who want shrimp. And you know what, lots of other people might not like shrimp. But they just order something else and ignore that it's on the menu because they realize the futility in trying to change someone else's business.

I think all this talking is the web equivalent of such protest in front of a company
but better
it being for the most part restricted to the site means it's not serving as a form of publicity
only those who are on here and those who already had an interest in joining will be affected

what needs to happen is for this to spread across the site
people need to talk more
to not leave in frustration and vent elsewhere
but to continue on here angry as ever
it will deter new users and drive those not interested in such a tone away
leaving gaia no choice but to rethink their conduct

though you might need a magnifying glass as endless shrimp has been in the flashy menu center for a very long time
and just when you think it's gone, they bring it back, flashier than ever (well not really now it's written in comic sans with some godawful clipart)

but now most everyone's pretty ******** tired...of endless shrimp
so tired apparently the restaurant's resorted to masking the endless shrimp under different names
but the public still knows it's endless shrimp...besides a few people that are convinced it's really bottomless micro-lobster

It's worthy to note the restaurant is falling apart
and the furnishings, along with a good number of the other entrees, haven't been changed since the 1970s

uhhh, I'm rather sick and tired of seeing all the GCD'rs griping and complaing over the most useless things on this site. Like seriously..I know we use the site, but really? Does no one read the updates or the journel entries anymore? the staff updates and such? it's always doom and gloom and it's always about how it's gaia's staff fault on how the MP is out of whack and etc etc.

stop..god just stop complaining and get over it guys. it's YOU ALL who are making it worse. I can't help but feel as though you're being a little overdramatic about the endless Shrimp. After all, it's not as if anyone is forcing you to enter the restaurant to begin with?

Sure, all of the other restaurants in this particular city are all mildly under-funded and staffed entirely by teenagers... but hey! At least they don't have endless shrimp.

You do have to force all of your friends and tip the waiters extremely well if you want quality service. The specialty items might take up all of your fun-money too.

But I have heard that the Endless Shrimp Shack is going to be releasing a nice bar and lounge service upstairs for people who may not want shrimp. Unfortunately, they'll only be serving dishes featured entirely in pornography.
