Hi everyone!
I'm eaTaiaG and I'm one of the Admins here at Gaia HQ. I'm also the team captain for the Gaians Gone Wild! Gaia community softball team and we're back for another fun-filled season of ball. Here's some info about the team/league/season/etc and I'll try to update it weekly after each game.

The season starts on Tuesday, July 19th, 2011!!!
The games will be each Tuesday night and the times will vary from week to week. We'll know what the schedule looks like as soon as the league publishes it, which will probably be a week before the season starts.
Keep your Tuesday nights open, because we'll be giving out some awesome prizes each Tuesday night! Bigger prizes than last season! One of the grand prizes might be worth between 10 and 20 million gold! Yikes!

A huge thanks to the fan-club-leaders here!
This fan thread wouldn't exist if it weren't for all the help from Scullylam, Plasmafire, Sakura_Madison, and Pirate Captain Sushi! I'm sure there are others who'll be helping out soon, so let Scullylam know, who's spearheading this fan thread. Thank you for all your efforts in helping not only the GGW team, but all the Gaians here too! We'll make sure to give you all shout-outs during the live webcasts!

Season start date has been delayed one week
I talked with the league last night and they confirmed that the new season opener date for us will be Tuesday, July 26th! Yipee! The exact time will be posted here as soon as they tell us.
July 21 -
Season Opener (1st) game will be at 9pm PDT on Tuesday, 7/26! We finally find out when we're playing. It'll be against Earnst and Young (the accounting firm). Hopefully they're thin, tiny, and non-athletic pencil pushers.
blaugh And remember, we plan on having weekly webcasts and weekly ubber prizes, so block off your Tuesday nights!! We're going to try really hard to make sure you have fun on Tuesday nights!

Tonight is the FIRST GAME night and we're all excited and a bit nervous at the same time! Sure we've done this before, but it's been a long time. Will we fail on the field? Will we embarrass ourselves in front of millions of users? Will our webcast work again? Will we remember to take our extra batteries? Will we forget our batting lineup? You see, there's LOTS of details to watch over for tonight's opening night....but it's all worth it because we love playing, especially in front of you guys! Hope to "see" you guys tonight and wish us luck! And may the luckiest Gaians win some of the prizes tonight.....I wish I could win some of those prizes, but I'm disqualified (and also busy on the field). Oh also, we're going to post some additional details about WHERE exactly we play, since I heard some local Gaians want to come watch in person. That's awesome! We'll be playing on field #5 tonight, so if you're ever there in person, make sure to "step up to the plate" and say Hi. See ya'll tonight!

Tomorrow night's game is at 6:40pm on field #1! We lost last week's season opener game, but we're gearing up for tomorrow night's game with the Farmers team. If you're local and want to come out to watch in person, we'll be playing on Field #1 (the first field on the right after you go past the entrance gate). If you do end up coming in person, make sure to say hi to us, so that we can give you a shout-out on the camera (if you won't mind that).

So the Farmers [Insurance] team denied our claim to victory Last night's game was very exciting and a very close one for most of the game, until they pulled away towards the end. But our GGW team showed a HUGE improvement compared to the prior week with a 75% increase in our score (from 8 to 14)!
blaugh Next week's game on Aug 9th will be at 7:50pm PDT! Catch you there, either on the camera, or hopefully some of you in person too.

GGW wins 16 to 12 and causes the Bay Bombers to "bomb" Last night's game was a really fun one, wasn't it? Close, with both teams upp-ing each other's score during each inning. The GGWs had not one, but TWO 7-run innings (where the umpire ends the inning so as to not create too big of a score mis-match). We certainly had a lot of fun and the game was the "talk of the town" during our lunch today. Next week's game is against the Masterba_ers (seriously -- let the trash-talk begin) at 6:40pm PDT. I MAY not play that night, so that others can play too, but we'll see. But mark your calendars and hope you can make it that night!

Last night didn't happen (in MY mind because I wasn't there) Since it "didn't happen in my mind" let's move on to next week's game, shall we?
biggrin We actually lost to the Master Bakers but we'll come bouncing back next week. We play at 7:50pm PDT and it'll be against the Nvidia Nforcers (sounds like the Nvidia video card company). That should be a more-evenly-matched game, so it'll probably be extra exciting. Mark your calendars and don't miss it!

We WILL break this losing streak!!! But we need your help. We need a) more thread powah next week and b) more people cheering us on!
If you live anywhere within driving distance to Twin Creeks, please come out and join us -- we promise you'll have a good time during and after the game. We'll be playing at 6:40pm on field 6. And since the majority of you don't live near here, catch us on the webcast. By the way, does anyone read these weekly updates? We had a blast losing!!! While losing, we had an AWESOME 10-run-rally inning at the end of the game, scaring the opponents into wondering what came over us. For video highlights, check it out
here. We had a local Gaian come out with home made fan flags, brownies, and candies for the team! What support! We think something was in those brownies, which is what caused the team to EXPLODE with hits at the end. The next game will be against the Farmers again at 6:40pm. Did you see the pie in the face last Tuesday night? The highlight of last week's game was the post-game shenanigans on camera. If you missed it, watch the last recording of that night at around the 3:00 minute mark. One of our webcast announcers, along with our pitcher, took a totally-whipped Boston cream pie to the face. It was awesome and of course our fans didn't disappoint by making gifs out of that scene. Thank you! Now, next week's game will be our last game before the playoffs, so we HAVE to win! But we won't be able to do it without your help from the THREAD POWAH! So, be there at 9pm PDT. The BEST game of the season! Our last game (on 9/27) was the best game of the season because it was the most fun we ever had losing! The GGW team played really well with some great hitting and great defense! The opponents won in the last few minutes of the game with a final score of 12 to 13! Watch the video to re-live the exciting moments! Next week, the playoffs start and our game will be at 9pm PDT again. We'll be playing against the best team of the league, so we're going to need all the support we can get! Hope you can make it!

Season ended in a fun way! The playoff game was fun and exciting....the GGW team played really well and was winning the first half of the game before the opponents passed us up with runs all the way to 22. Thanks everyone for supporting the GGW team throughout the summer season and having fun with us! We really looked forward to each Tuesday night, not only because of the game, but because we knew we had a webcast coming up full of fun and shenanigans.
