I have been suggesting this for a while now, and was actually a little surprised Gaia didn't take the opportunity with the Orphan event this past christmas to highlight a charity and give back. I'm really glad you guys are considering doing this! heart

I really think that if Gaia wants to label itself as a "teen hangout" -- it might want to consider looking up community programs / charities directed towards helping teenagers as well -- with tutoring / mentors / help hotlines / etc.

As someone who voted the animal option, I can't speak for anyone else but here's my opinion: I'm not saying animals are better than humans. I'm just saying, if you'd seen what I'd seen then gosh darnit you'd want to prevent that for EVER happening. It was a sad and sorry sight.
If there was an 'all' option, I would have voted for that. But there wasen't, so I had to pick.

I know you weren't addressing me in particular but you were addressing views I happened to post.

And that can be turned around really. Since when is human life more important than other animal life? In particular when humans are the cause of the endangerment of many species?
The answer is subjective and always will be since this is about peoples views.

We all have different views on what should be prioritized, there's no reason to be rude to people just because you can't understand their view ._.;

Anyway, I voted for 'animals' because I saw this one show, and this dog had been well...beaten and neglected. It barely LOOKED like a dog. It was purely awful. It had all sort sof diseases and...ugh. Poor thing was put to sleep.

Cultural and Educational :

If the whole world was educated, we wouldn't have this s**t we have today.

People would be educated about AIDs and how to prevent it,
People would be educated and get good jobs (no poverty if they're educated!),
People who are educated about other cultures are more open-minded,
People who are educated lead fuller, healthier lives,
People who are educated a better than uneducated people.
People would be educated on ethics and learn to make the right decisions for themselves.
