Can you tell my avi is in drag now? emotion_awesome
This is the first time I've tried to make the male base look like a female.
You can still sort of tell from his chubby face and waist, though. D8
I find the female base easier to disguise as the opposite gender.

I tend to dress my avatar in whatever I fancy at the moment - guys or girls clothing.

When I first joined gaia I thought a lot of the older clothing and shoes worked better on a male base, and I made my first account with a male base. However I have a gender neutral name IRL (and I work a job that is usually associated with men) so I got really sick of frequently getting called 'him' both IRL and online.

So when I made this account, I took my favorite geek reference that has a clear "I R FEMALE!" sound to it and made it my username; complete with female avi base. (and some days I really wish I could change it, but I still can't bring myself to.)

I have to say over the years Gaia has done a LOT better at making equippable items both unisex and fit well with both male and female avis. Mods help a lot, as do a variety of skirts, overskirts, capes, ect ect. No longer do I feel every female avi I make will look like she's ready to tip over from being top heavy with feet slammed too close together. (that and female avi's get the base 3 eyes which I lurrrve)

I have largely abandoned my first account, through the avi is still male. When I switched Azure to a guy for the achievement I had one hell of a time coming up with an avi for him/her. I just know what equips where and how on a female base much better than on a male base, so with the familiarity and better unisexing of the clothing I prefer the female base for male or female characters.

I can actually.

It the cheek line, the position of the mouth and eyes.... Not much gets by me anymore though, being here for almost eight years does that. A really good try though, most people wouldn't be able to tell!

I don't really have such an opinion but I do worry since studies have shown that those who use other genders online other than to "troll" or "get gold" have a subconscious wanting to BE that gender...

I knew I couldn't trick people who were very familiar with the site and its items. XD
But I'm glad it passes for the most part.

omg I can't believe I didn't reply to this board when it was made. eek

I'm sure we all know Soubi is male but I use the female base because the male
base is too ******** bulky for his body build. But I used to use the male base.
Boy, was that tragic.

I used to crossdress a lot (not so much anymore...), my tastes have changed a bit but I still find leg mods to be indispensible and would like to see more of them as well as sleeve items.

I've never had anyone act rudely toward me while I was in drag but then, my outfits were never half-assed either... *shrugs*
I just go with whatever I feel like that day. I usually have a male base but today i'm wearing female clothing. I'm pretty non-specific about my avatar's clothing. whee

I tend to end up making my guy avatar really handsome or really girly. I wasn't able to get that same effect when I did have a female avatar for the longest time, but that may have been because I didn't have as many items until I changed it to a guy XD Though once I changed it I never went back because I like the look of the male avatars wayyyy more then the girls. The bulk on the guys make them look stronger and less like they're going to flop over cause of their big heads.

Like right now my avatar is being really girly <_> and I'm sure my next few are super girly as well, mainly cause I suppose I always pictured my avatar character being very... gender neutral when it comes to that I suppose. Can easily swap between girly and guyish.

Swashbuckling Sweetheart

I was surprised the other day when someone mistook my avatar for a male. I mean, I know I can make pretty masculine avatars, but I always thought the arms were a dead giveaway. I've never consciously tried to pass for a male base.

I drag my avvy out every once in a while. The right items to add bulk make a really great male avvy without having to buy potions.

I've tried, but I do female avatars much better. True story.

I'm a gay male who uses a female base. I've thought of turning the base to male and just dress the base in drag/provocative, but the item to change the gender of the bases is too expensive for my taste, so I keep the base female.

My avatar used to be a Drag King before legs mods came in.
I much prefer the way the female base looks but I was sick of artists drawing my avi with boobies even when I specified he was male!
