Gaia Interactive making an 18+ website?

Second life is full of perverts, is very lonely and if you hate elitism in Gaia, you will be experiencing the hell in there. But you can fly but landing might hurt.

Going to be honest...
Never thought of a second product or a new name of the site or even a pornhalorefish site.
Instead thought about changing the name of the help center...which would be somehow...kind of confusing and unnecessary.

I don't know if anyone have thought about this but.. what if this "18+" site has to do with "Pay to Play?"

I mean, that would help with the age restriction if it does happen like this.

I like how everyone assumes that an Adult Version of this site will consist of the lowest common denominator. There's a market for 18 and up social media sites, adding the visual aspect to that with avatars helps enhance the experience and interactivity.

Will there be bad apples? Sure but that is what some people will do with the broader range freedoms allowed. Even this site is not immune to that kind of element so really, discrediting the idea on that basis kinda falls flat tbh. World of WarCraft would be fairly similar to this idea of a mature Gaia equivalent in that the population is largely 18+ and yet there are rules, and regulations that distinguish it from say, the chaos present in4 chan ect.

Adults are entirely under represented on this site. That sort of adds to insult when you consider that they very likely support this site more than any other age-group here. I would like to say a mature joke now and then or maybe throw in a curse word, post a bloody or suggestive image for the luls I dunno.
Just a distinctly less, nanny-zone place to socialize so people wouldn't have to worry about censoring their every word.

Don't have a problem with them making an 18+ site, but I hope any >=18 year olds won't be moved there by default. I'd hate to be forcibly lumped with the older folk, they're too serious to feel comfortable with crying

Maybe we are having a baby (spin off) website, and this is the name for the new site? Possibly an 18 and up site with avatars similar to Gaia's? I couldn't imagine Gaia changing their name so drastically after 10 years. Then again the past few months have been kind of hectic.

I never got a survey. sad Anyway, if they make an adults only site, that sounds kind of interesting. I'm a little disappointed that they waited so long though if that is what they are actually doing. There was a time when I would have been super excited for such a thing. I always kind of wanted an adults only avatar site or something similar. Now I'm not sure I even care. I'd still be interested enough to check it out though. It could be nice. As I get older I start to find some of the younger people on here to be more and more annoying... Not all of them, but a lot of them definitely. But with the way Gaia is run now with the focus all on money and how much they can get out of all of us, I question if I'd even enjoy another site created by Gaia. I think their interest would just be in getting all the older people who have jobs and therefore probably have more money than teenagers to join another site and spend a ton of money, which is definitely not what I'm looking to do. But somehow I just don't see Gaia going in that direction, they don't seem like they would make a site just for adults. I could be wrong but it just doesn't seem like something they would do unless they really do think they'll get more money from us.

I don't want to cyber and I'm a kid at heart. There's nothing I'd want to discuss on an 18+ site that I couldn't do here tbh.

...those name choices are horrible. >_< ..also, you 'could' just add age-locked parts into this site so only those of a certain age may go past that point.

I'm thinking some of the folks that have left or wanting to leave/not very active are those that are also looking for more adult-oriented role playing and feeling RP is neutered as is. I've seen a few that have lost interest in the site because of their guilds for that stuff was removed though the people themselves were being very mature about the content.

Age lock seems good but this is the internet. No one uses their real age when they sign up for things

...that's the beauty of the age lock and age appropriate areas. The site isn't at fault because they 'will' have that set in place. So anyone that has parents complaining about how their child just happened to be in this area or that can be pointed to the age lock and how it was the child that lied about age to get in.

that was one of the best things about tumblr was some of the nsfw stuff like some of the sex art blogs were nice
