You know I don't know if your doing this as some joke or your serious. But you know you may think the users dont matter but infact they matter more than you know. This site with no users is worthless . If users decided to actually never donate to gaia again until this censorship ended and actually went through with their word. Gaia would eventually see that this was a bad business decision on their part and bring cigs back.

Yes the users matter in the fact they use the site. No they dont matter in what they have to say. I don't see people quitting because of this and I believe you probably won't quit either becaus eyou like the site still.

Guess what its not the site that's kept me here in the first place. If the users I visit this site to talk to are gone I'll leave too losing a purpose to be here. Like gaia alone is the reason people come to this site lol. With that I think I'll leave this thread on that note.

I've been on Gaia since late 2005 and it's been on ongoing thing. At first, it was tolerable because the incidents were few and far between. But ever since Gaia ceased being a community and started to become a business, it's just gotten worse and worse.

Depending on how long you've been on the site, this might be the first stink you've witnessed. I've witnessed this, the *****, the n****e shirt ban, this unfixed glitch, that unfixed glitch, etc etc.

That's true, we would be mad about an EI not evolving if this didn't happen, but that's exactly what happens in the GCD. Every Friday, there is a baww thread about the EIs.

In all honesty I agree. I think having Alcohal and sexual things are deterimental to anyone and giving them the false idea that it's okay to just do those things. Sites should be help RESPONSIBLE for putting up things that could infulence others to do bad things.

Because Gaia's choices with their site is the difference between success and failure? If you provide crappy costumer service you will have crappy sales. It is as simple as that. Also, people will keep caring because the principal behind the ban is pathetic and only adds onto the lack of communication we have been receiving for over a year now.

If they truly believe that taking away access to purchasing pixels will decrease the risk of a minor picking up a cigarette and smoking, then they are on some sort of illegal substance themselves. I have yet to encounter someone that picked up a smoke because an avatar on a site looked cool doing it.

They are still succeeding and not FAILING because YOU are still on the site because you will not care about the smoking ban later. And if they do believe that it will help with keeping kids from smoking then it's OKAY because it gives them a sense of that they helped and did they're part.

It does not matter how many people are on this site. If no one pays for cash cards or donates to them, they cannot keep this site up and running and therefore fail. Also, even if I am still on this site it does not mean others are sticking around to see if whoever makes these absurd choices decides to turn a new leaf and start acting like a business more dedicated to its users' concerns. More people leaving means less people logging in every day means a lower rating.

If the userbase bitches like an old lady whose lawn gets trampled on by children every day then their part just ******** themselves over. If anything their plan completely backfired with all of the protesting avatars and signatures, and by the looks of things, most of the users are participating in it one way or the other. I see more smoking going on on one page than I have ever had with all of Gaia put together.

I consider this the detrimental step towards child-proofing gaia. The site was meant for people 13 and up. People of that age range should be able to make choices for themselves.

You can say we'll forget, but I think of this as just the start of series of bans/item removals to make this a kiddie site.

The aim of the community is changing, which will lead to the demographic changing, and I'll change to a different community that is more fair to its users.
