Does EVERY NPC really need a fanthread?

Someone pointed out that there was no Devil Imp thread...and an Angel Imp thread. It was insinuated I should make one. So I thought "Why the Hell not, they're pretty cool and it might be fun to make one." So I made it and so far it has been fun. ^_^ I could care less about being popular or whatever. That's kind of silly. XD

To be honest, I think the GCD is pretty boring except for the fan threads. They're the only reason I come here. XD

that's a little farfetched but yeah some of the fan threads are rediculous to the point where they follow pointless trends thinking it makes that thread special honestly I don't mind if a fan thread is serious as in to what NPC they like and why but when they start following the stupid trends that have been over worked, for example same gender couplings, mysterious pasts, whose the parent, etc then it's just annoying. if a group seriously wishes to disscuss why they like the thing their fan thread is based off of and focus on it as that a disscussion and not some fad then hey more power to them but if they're just doing it to go with the flow of trends then they need to stop

Site feedback because they are basically saying "we like this NPC" which is feedback, sorta <.< but yea...D in GCD is for discussion...even if it is about the community, it's still not much of a discussion.

I am truly amazed the spider that looked up emo-vamp's boxers doesn't have a fan thread.

I'm in a weird spot.
I find it annoying to have to look for actual threads in between all of the fantreads, but.. I'm also a member of quite a few of the fanthreads. Silly me. <_<

I mean, he's had a hell of a lot more facetime than most of these virtual whippersnappers.. he even does announcements! sad

Why not? This is the GCD, we discuss the storyline, many of us love a certain NPC. Though we kinda agree on certain ones (I think the Sasha fanthread never reached 20 pages), not all of us like the same NPC. So there's a club for each NPC and we can respectively flock to them for info, lurking or posting.

I'm not in any of them, except the Angel Imp because I couldn't resist, but they give structure to the GCD, and I like them being there.

Well in the old days, when the story devs were a bit more hard working and also when Gaians' imagination aren't so restricted like it is today, we had a lot of fun discussing hypothetical what-ifs. Like what would a character do/how would so and so figure into future plot updates. NPC characters were really like Gaian celebrities with fans admiring their character and pixels (well can't say much for character because tht component is all up to the shoddy work of the storyline writers) It was interesting to speculate about plot developments which was basically what most of the fanthreads were about. But of course it has degenerated into just fangirls screaming how they like a certain pixelated character and random chatterbox chatting. But it's to be expected, it's like a fanclub of sorts right? I wonder if they can't move fanthreads into a new category or make them into guilds?

With over a million users, Gaia boast more than a million opinions. You may never know, they might actually like that NPC. Would someone really just make a pretty thread, take the time to hang in it, fix and update it, and all that just so they could get noticed? I think not.

At least none of the users have thought to create a fan listing for the NPC who found the orcs/ is shown on the $25 gift card.

Although they can be a nuisance, even the juggernaut fan threads die out over time.

I understand they like the characters...I just don't see the need to clutter the GCD with threads about how much they like the characters, there are exceptions, Truth about Timmy being one of them.
