Dare I say? (new theory on gambino donations)

Maybe... just maybe... We're being tested. What if the purpose of donating was to see how much they could actually get out of us. That way they would somehow be able to guage how much you could win on new games? Maybe they really are opening the casino, and the amount donated in this Gambino drive somehow directly correlates with how much you can win in the casino. Maybe they're trying to see if we're willing to donate to this blind cause, then they'll be willing to up the prizes and stakes when the casino opens.

Just a theory. Discuss.

interesting theory...I don't see why they would need to test how much people would pay to a blind cause though...since gambling is all about trying to make a profit...what would a gambler benifit from donating to gambino?

i think it may be more along the lines of

if donations matter then they are checking to see who on gaia really cares about the storylines.

otherwise i dont think any user action will change a planned event.

i am sure that at a certain time during halloween the mansion was set to be destroyed cause it was ASSUMED X number of zombies should have been created by that time since most people would be trying out the game and playing til their fingers fell off.

i doubt any money going into gambino has anything to do with the actual "event" but just something to give us to do so we will keep checking on the map and not look for admiins to announce everything so they can start springing HIDDEN events on us. 3nodding

I don't think it's a matter of why they would donate, it's more of a matter of what they'd be willing to donate. People are so damn greedy on this website, so to test what we're willing to give back to the community is valid, I would say. It really doesn't matter in the end, but I think it's something to think about. Just because. smile

I don't really think you can measure how much people are interested in the plotline by how much they are able to dish out at a moment's notice. ^^

<center>Personally I think that all this donateing business is a way for the admins, etc. to reduce the amount of gold in circulation. Thus giving Gaia's economy a chance to grow slower and bring the insane prices of some items down.

Quite the theory, but, I highly doubt it. It has nothing to do with the casino, and I'm quite positive about that. Two new areas wouldn't open for absolutely no reason. Gambino definitely has something up in his sleeve..
