I don't think new items will need rip-offs, because as someone said earlier, they are abundant and hence will have a more perfect market behaviour. The price won't reach impossibly expensive like 2003 items.

I wouldn't mind a black kitty though. In fact, I would jump to open my letter the minute it's released like I did with my kiki kitty.
