It's not always the case but I do think there is a bit of a link.

It used to be (at least with the girls) that the bitchy ones had the narrowed eyes and demonic stuff and the cutesy ones had the super anime eyes and angelic/pink clothes.

Not all the time or even most of the time but there was an inclination toward it. We all sub consciously project our personalities at times.
