Welcome to Gaia! ::

I think people constantly use "BAWWW" as a quick way to end ANY infraction against Gaia.

Like, if an EI isn't evolving, Cash Shop items such as the S.I.N/B.O.O costumes placed in Cash Shop, and yet more Bawwing when highly requested items like "I am Cat" poses stuck in RIGs and "OMG it's so important that many users have what they requested!" kind of stuff...

Anyway, it just makes me seem that in places like SF, If you go against Gaia on anything, you're met with users who badger at you to stop complaining thus not have an opinion of your own at all as I see it these days.

If opinions or complaints weren't generated and everyone at least takes whatever Gaia gives 'em instead of go at it, the site could be a bit more friendly and less Gold generated...

To Whom It May Concern,

You know what's really annoying?

People bawwing over other people bawwing.

While I don't think it's right to be rude to the artists they took this job of their own free will.

They are given work and time limits.

They are all big girls (and boys?) and should have the responsibility to make sure they get their work finished on time.
That's the part of having a job.

And being artists they should all realize that not everyone is going to like their work.

And even though a lot of people bawww people still loves and appreciate the artists.

Without them Gaia would be ugly.

Sometimes SF and the GCD get carried away but the artists should be prepared to take criticism and ignore negative behavior such as insulting.

We ALL deal with insults and bitching.
Why should they get so upset over it just because it's a website?
I'm sure they have heard worse from real people.

Gaia gets mad and then forgives when something better comes out, or they change something because of us.

I'm so tired of people bawwwing. But it's what he GCD and SF are for.
We just need to learn how to give constructive criticism and not just insult the artists.

Sincerely,
Xenmas
I do agree with Xenmas, and I do think we should try and be more realistic with our criticisms at times, but I know that no one is perfect. I complain sometimes, too. I regret it later, though, and always wish I could have said something more helpful. sweatdrop

I really do love some of the items released recently, and others not so much, but that's how everyone is. I'm sure if you asked every user on Gaia, they could tell you one item they like and one they dislike with plenty of feedback. 3nodding

Edit: The word, "Baww," also annoys me sometimes. Especially when people talk about how much of it there is. I do not mind the mention of it, today, though.

I tend not to bawwww but when others are bawwwwing in a thread I just feel obliged to post "BAWWW".

I personally like the term. D:
I've started to say it IRL. XD
My friend was complaining about her shirt being itchy and she just kept complaining and the next thing I know:
"BAWWWW"

Twas hilarious.

I wish we'd ban the word "bawww" from the site. (Well, not really. But I'd be entirely happy if I never heard it again.)

I get SO ANGRY with people yelling "BAWWW" at people with valid complaints and not bothering to listen to them. It pisses me off way more than people complaining about nothing, frankly.

Oh exactly.
I hate that you can have a completely legitimate complaint- or even opinion, and it can get chalked up to BAWing.
I am very against that word now.

There's criticism done right and criticism done wrong. A lot of people take criticism too far and eend up looking like spoiled children who's only way to get things the way they'd like it is to throw a tantrum. A lot of people it seems don't know the difference between the two. They use the excuse that their complaints the way they give them are valid and justified just because they spent their real world money on the credits that got them their item.

The funny thing is, these same people who b***h and complain and throw tantrums over items not evolving when they expect them to are the ones who will turn down the idea of anyone else doing it. They start yelling that it won't be the same item if someone else did it. Then they throw out the example of the Gogh Reed as why it shouldn't be given to anyone else. They want their item and yet they only want the person who started it to finish it. The thing is an entire item has been handed over to another artist in the past and it turned out just fine. People tend to forget about the Cocoon and what happened with that. Unless there's a definite story behind it that the original artist wants to oversee from start to finish then if someone else can finish it then by all means pass the project on to them.

We'll never know who's next on the chopping block thanks to Stein being around now. They created him so no one will know who's making what anymore. Unless an artist wants to come out and say they did an item after it's done evolving we'll never know who did them ever again. I honestly think the Egg, the Journal, and the Case and how we as a community reacted to who did them, the leaking of names, and this need to demand no less than ten thousand percent work from them are the reason why Stein is around. You want to put someone on the chopping block you won't be able to because Juno will just tell you from now on to go to Stein about your item issues for EIs. Sad but this is what it's come to now.

I like using 'Bawww' if I mean it jokingly but never ever in a serious context.
I try to ignore most complaining threads because I find them a bit ridiculous. An artist/something is not catering to a person's personal desire so they should get complained at. People tend to forget their are people with real lives behind Gaia and they don't sit at their computers 24 hours like some GCDers do D;
But then again I don't give a damn about most items/crap that gets complained over so meh.
what i really don't like is that any critic or any negative opinion is seems to automatically be "baww"ing now-a-days. what, people can't say they don't like something the site did? and a lot of the time the complaints are justified and make sense. sure, insulting the artist is wrong, but saying they're unprofessional isn't an insult, it may be the damn truth in some cases.

really, i used to defend suki, because i was happy with the way things were going. sure, it might've been slow, but i loved the evolutions. but now... i got mad about the Case, and after i got why people didn't like what suki did. though i'm really on the fence, i was mad about the Case at first. but now i'm kind of like "yeah, i'm mad it didn't evolve and it was poor planning on Gaia's part, but she IS busy with so much other work and you never know what's going on in her life". i've been strictly on both sides before, so that's why i'm kind of in the middle now. i wonder how i'll react if something like this happens again, which side i might retreat to or if i stay in the middle. -shrug-
Wow, I've come to really hate the term "bawww" in these past few weeks.
The term has been used to the point where pretty much anyone who uses it in context is instantly disliked by me. It's a very lazy retort and seems to me to have become some overly-accepted way of brushing off anyone who has concerns or complaints.
I think people forget that, even though we're paying real money for these PIXELS, we understand that the end result will be a mystery.

If you pay 10 dollars to pull something out of a shiny box, it's nobody's fault but your own if you pull out something you don't like. You didn't have to pay 10 dollars for a mystery item.

And as for the time thing? I can understand being very upset while waiting for evolutions; suspense can be extremely stressful. But there's no reason to be abusive, and yelling via forum posts for the item to be done won't get it done any quicker.
This is gonna sound totally whack coming from me
but I'm sickened by this bizzare obsession that leads you people to speculate who's going to be the next to ******** up and get heat over it
You all claim to be their "defenders" and then do this?
how is that supportive at all?
At least those complaining are hoping for improvement

I'm seriously tired of people saying "BAWWW"

For quite a number of reasons.

Mostly because it's become a filler in idle chatter like "How's the weather" and "what's up" "nothing much"

It's a stupid phrase that is now overused to the point of nausea and must die.

Frankly I could care less about people complaining. It's easy to ignore if you don't like it and if you do want to get in debates with those types of people you get you nickers out of a bunch.

I dislike the term 'bawwing' itself. Highly immature, spammish and has no place in furthering an intellectual conversation about how Gaia is going about her business.
