Even to someone who does buy Gaia cash, they would still be paying substancially more for the item in gaia cash. I doubt someone who was unwilling ot spend their gaia cash initially and at the lower price would feel like amassing several times that to get it now. At the end of the day once they had the needed amount of gold I doubt they would spend it on an item they feel should be worth closer to 1 mil for single pose. Just my view on it, another person may decide differently.

If a certain user is able to buy a certain item but doesn't think the price is worth it, the problem lies with the user rather than Gaia. The majority of users have a price threshold and there's not much that can be done about that. If Gaia rereleased Ciel tomorrow and the MP price dropped to 600k, you'd still have users who want the item but won't buy it or quest for it because the scissors aren't worth that much gold to them.

Gaia could make a good profit out of this item! That's the thing I don't get. They could make more money by pressing a damn button. And they don't do it! (in my mind it's just one button, but then again, I'm no programmer)

I think that instead of asking 'Why should they do that?' we should be asking 'Why not?'

Just because Gaia CAN do something doesn't mean they should. Cash items all leave the CS eventually because having it be "limited edition" means more people will buy it instead of putting off the purchase. Gaia does reserve the right to rerelease cash items, but they aren't going to rerelease any given item too often because then people will be less likely to see them as wise investments, and they're more likely to put off a purchase. ("it's going to get rereleased again anyway!" wink I'm not saying Gaia should never rerelease item, I myself LOVE rereleases, I'm just explaining why constant rereleases might be a bad business move.

Though again, I do support Gaia rereleasing Ciel every once in a while. But users aren't entitled to have any given item on the site.

I agree with you. haha gaia will re-release it in time just like they do with most items.

I'm pretty sure anyone can see that this item is an exception.
The simple fact that its price is (give or take) 6 times more than a normal REI, would mean that it's still a FABULOUS investment.
I'd say they can continue rereleasing it until they've reached a normal REI price. Then they should reconsider. wink

Besides, RIGs come out every month and everyone knows those are bad investments.

Nut the thing is agape recently already WAS readily available. I got mine for 499 GC which is not hard to come across. I have purchased almost all of my items through doing GC offers so I can't say 3 mil is hard to come by considering anyone can do those if they take a little time out.

If an item is re-released that is similar it will simply rise in price because body mod items are expensive because lots of people want them. It's just how things work.

Unless they release it as a gold shop item it will be expensive. Because as you said gaia is greedy and looking to make money so it would most likely come in the form of some expensive RIG item.

Ee-yup. Unless the item got rereleased in a permanent way, it's going to get expensive. After Ciel got rereleased, the price shot up once again after it left the CS. If Gaia rereleases it again, the same thing will probably happen once it leaves the shop again. Then Gaia will have to rerelease it again so more people can afford it, and so on.

Though I doubt Gaia is going to release the scissor pose in a different item. Gaia has NEVER taken a pose from one item and put an exact copy in a different item, so why would they do it for the scissors, even for a rare RIG drop?

I haven't followed Agape's market fluctuations because I bought one when it came out and it's become an item I will never sell. I was only using the same price quote I saw other using, forgive me if it's inaccurate.

As for the cash purchases- it doesn't matter what you purchased Agape with. My point is, that those who purchase gaia cash are much less likely to unable to afford that item. The people who NEVER purchase gaia cash are the ones who I think are more likely to think Agape's current value as "unfair."

Maybe you only spend gaia cash on items you like- that's fair. Other people (like me) spend gaia cash when they see an opportunity to make a decent amount of gold they can then use to buy the item they want. Both methods of spending gaiacash are valid.

Even to someone who does buy Gaia cash, they would still be paying substancially more for the item in gaia cash. I doubt someone who was unwilling ot spend their gaia cash initially and at the lower price would feel like amassing several times that to get it now. I feel like I'm missing something here. Your argument would basically boils down to "if I don't feel like buying an item i want, I should be able to get it for free". I don't understand how you can see this as anything other that whiny and childish.

I want Pandalita solely for the shoes. It's a very expensive item, but I only want it for that one pose. Should I be able to get it for free? No- that would be grossly unfair to the other people who quested for Pandalita. Regardless of the price of the item, or how many poses are personally desirable to you, I don't think it makes sense to demand that you get for free what others have had to work for, just because you don't want to spend the money.

Even if Gaia WAS all about money, they'd rerelease the scissors anyway because the demand is so huge. The average REI costs about 500k, 600k. Ciel is three million!

Except after a while, people are going to realize that Gaia will keep rereleasing the item, so they might be prone to putting off the purchase. The MP prices won't get high because buyers will go "Oh, the item will be rereleased later and I'll be able to get it even cheaper then!". So the demand will drop.

Also, a point to the people who are referring to the SC:A's original price;

We did not realise the potential of that pose back then. Of course we (the GCD wink ) were quick to find out what the pose does, but most wigs back then weren't cut nicely by the SC:A. The specialised wigs only came afterwards. Nowadays, I think all wigs are designed in such a way that the 'cut' wig also looks nice.

And I think that's exactly what most of us are already expecting. They are going to rerelease it. Again.

And yet. The price is 3 million? Wow.

Can't say I agree with the whole 'gaia offers a status/ranking'-thingy, because frankly, I think that would be a bit silly. But then again, I usually don't fit the crowd, so I could be wrong. wink

I don't equate it with whiny. I have said in the past that I would pay any amount if the item were completly gender nuetral. It so happens that it is not and that is the only reason I am concerned about over paying for Agape. Had it turned out to be a nuetral item I would have long since bought it.

Pandalita doesn't really compare because it doesn't have the same range of effect on other items like the Scissors pose does. Rig pets or SD Dolls wouldn't work as a stand in this scenario either because they also do not effect as many items or in the same way as Agape.

Your concern about "overpaying" doesn't excuse you from having to pay market value if you want to own an item- whether it's for one pose or not. My Pandalita example was about how I only want to own that item for one pose- not about me comparing the shoes to the scissors. Just because the scissors are more versatile it doesn't change facts. Whether you want an item for ALL 50-bajillion poses or for only 1 pose, you either pay the market value for it or you go without.

Honestly, your reasons still don't justify to me why you should have to pay less than everyone else. The genderizaton of the item is certainly something to thing about, but that's not what this is about. Either the item is something you want and you're willing to pay for, or you don't want it that badly and you're not willing to pay for it. Rationalizing why it's not worth so much and you should get it for free/less doesn't change the item's market value.

If the pose isn't worth 3 million to you, the issue lies with you, not Gaia. Everyone has a different price threshold. There are a lot of items where I like a single pose but it's too expensive to justify buying just for it, yet I don't ask Gaia to release the pose separately. If I don't want to pay that much, it's my problem, it's my personal preference. Even if the item was just 500k, there would still be users who want the scissors but still refuse to pay that much for just one pose. I get that Agape effects avatars to an extent that few other items do, but that doesn't make users more entitled to it than any other item pose.

I didnt know this item shot up. But i really dont want a release a copy because it will deflate the item and hurt those who invested. We saw this with onei during black friday.

Outside of MCs, users are well aware that Gaia reserves the right to rerelease any item. They'd whine but they wouldn't have much of a case.
