Long Long ago, on Planet Zurg, many lords went to battle over ignorance; destroying each other, and conquering each other over worthless reasoning: just to try to become king of the Zurg! One day, a zurg came. His name was Moof and he said, "Peace brothers! All this fighting, anger, and lust for power, is low and we must stop. Let us all be friends and have only one lord, on whom we can fairly vote!"Moof became leader of the Zurg. Making the planet a safe and happy place, they became intellectually and technologically powerful. The zurg began exploring other planets.
A Long while later, a ship was exploring when seeing a sudden bright light appeared in the distance. The ship's occupants scanned it and found that it was a huge explosion of mass power on a far off planet. And so, the zurg discovered the Planet Gaia!
Many months later, the Gaians were minding there own business when suddenly the zurg landed on Earth Gaia! Many people became scared, many became friendly and many became hostile.
The scared became the organization called the GIB, the friendly became the organizations Zurg Nation (Zurg Hive) and Believers, and the hostile became the Gaian Resistance.
Not long after, the leader of the Zurg Nation, Sorn (11) became angry with the one named Flarn (09) for fraternizing with the believers, as friends, not slaves or soldiers. He saw Flarn as a traitor, and together with Zooeep (06), threatened to kill the young Narf (02) to draw Flarn out of hiding. Flarn emerged and begged to his brother and sister not to harm poor Narf. He attempted to persuade them into allowing him to be friends with the Gaians. However, Sorn was not interested. He destroyed most of Flarn's ship, and when Sorn scanned the ship, no life signs were found.
Soon after, the enormous shadow of the Mothership was cast over the wreckage of Flarn's ship, and Flarn's body was taken aboard.

The Zurg Mothership visited the Gaians many times. Her preferred spot to visit was the place known as "1919." Those present at her meetings came from many organizations; there were allies of the Zurg, and enemies of the Zurg, or just observers.
Many asked questions regarding Flarn ("Has he recovered?", "Is he ok?" wink , but Mother, as she is often called, would not speak much of Flarn.
While this was happening, in the Zurg Nation many were against the deeds Sorn committed, while others celebrated. Many members were removed from the Zurg Nation for being disloyal to Sorn. It was during this time that the Zurg Nation became a hidden guild, called the Zurg Hive.

For those who were observant and dedicated, visitors to Flarn's profile noticed a strange occurrence...Flarn's avatar had changed to the silhouette of something... odd. It appeared to be a Zurg with hair. But only time would tell what happened to Flarn. Meanwhile, on Towns, mother and 06 spoke to the Gaians about Flarn's recovery, and that it would not be long before Flarn would make his return to Gaia. Soon after, Omph (10) challenged Sorn to a duel; however, before this fight could take place, a former member of the Zurg Nation and, in recent times, leader of the Santa's Army interfered, causing Omph and Sorn to abandon their plan for battle and leave.

Then... came the moment that has been eternally engraved into the memories of many. One day, Mother and Zooeep (06) ventured to towns, bringing news of Flarn. That is when he arrived. He flew to towns in a dark red ship, designed to look similar to the Mothership; however, the collective sound of the screaming gaian-fans caused him to flee. Mother then placed the responsibility of Flarn's psychological recovery into the hands of the "evil" Zooeep...

Shortly after, Sorn and Omph were talking when, out of no where, Flarn emerged wishing for revenge against Sorn. Omph defended Sorn, giving him time to flee; however, in this act of courage, Omph was destroyed and Flarn pursued the fleeing Sorn.

A message appeared in the UFO 11 sub forum from Sorn announcing that he had left the planet since he believed that the influence of the Gaians had caused him to become much like Flarn was before Sorn had shot him down; he feared that the Gaians were making him too soft and that he too was feeling the joys of love. The Zurg Hive needed a leader and Mother asked Zooeep to take Sorn's place as Overlord. The new empress was very strict in her new position of power. She was not hesitant to remove those who said so much as a single word against her wishes.

The Believer's leader was very worried about flarn. Many were pleading for Sorn to come back, and for Flarn to remember who he was, but all the happiness that Flarn felt was hurting him. He wanted others to suffer. He wanted to feed off of their negative feelings. Their.... DarkNRGY as he called it. While Flarn felt that his new form was divine and perfect, he knew that he was incomplete, and he was slowly dying. Without this DarkNRGY, he would have nothing to feed on... nothing to draw energy from.

One day, Zooeep announced that Flarn would replace her as the leader of the Hive; however, such as with every decision that is made on the interwebs, not all were pleased. Flarn remained with the Hive for a short time, until a small part of him realized that this was not what he wished to do. He was not receiving what he needed. Memories of his past began to flood his thoughts until all he felt was pain. He left the Hive, and became a rogue... Roaming the planet alone, trying to cause as much havoc and suffering as possible.

Before Christmas, a Zurg named Zoit was flying around in her ship, when she saw a cow, "Well I can never resist beaming up a cow." So she abducted the poor beast; however, while this was happening, Santa just happened to be taking a stroll near by. He saw the floating cow, and went to investigate. He hopped out of his Mechsuit and went under the beam to get a closer look at the flying cow; however, he was trapped in the beam as well, and flew up with the cow, hitting a group of power lines. Their souls were swapped, and Santa became a cow.
At Christmas time, Narf tried to make up for Zoit's mistake by becoming Santa and giving out presents. Also, Narf hoped that by helping Santa, Santa might help Narf return Flarn to his normal, lovable self; but Santa wasn't going to give up his title just because he was a cow and he viewed Narf's help as interfering. And so, he also gave out presents.

At new Years, Zurg Hive held a ball in the Mothership. Many celebrity NPCs showed up for the festivities. Then, the peace festival was held in the Gaia Unlimited HQ. The Gaia Unlimited guild was a guild created to attempt to bring the different factions together for peace.
Many days later the Water Meat Festival was celebrated, in honor of Narf.

During this time, many people discovered that Flarn was afraid of Water Meat and what they represented: Happiness and joy. This is why Narf continued to hand out Water Meat items to those involved in the plot, long after Christmas had ended.

While this was happening, Zownd was coming to Towns talking about a weapon. No one was sure if it was for good or for evil, but we all knew he was building it for Mother.

Now long after Christmas, while Narf was still giving out presents to everyone, Sorn came and warned him of Flarn; however, Narf disregarded Sorn's warning because he still remembered Sorn's threats to Narf from long ago. Flarn then appeared, from the shadows, shouting and ranting about revenge against Sorn for killing him. During the final climactic moments, Narf leapt to greet Flarn happily; However, Flarn, who had his weapon aimed at Sorn, fired too quickly, and Narf was caught in the crossfire.
At this moment, Mother came and took them away. Far away. Away from Gaia, where her children could finally be safe. Mother's original plan was to try to save Gaia... from itself, using forceful means; she knew that the people of Gaia would eventually destroy themselves. Many Gaians tried to prove her wrong... but in the end, only her children wound up being hurt. She realized that the Gaians were better off without them. And the Zurg were better off without the Gaians. And so they left, saying that they may return someday, if the Gaians and Zurg ever showed signs of being able to join together in peace....

Sorn- Sorn briefly makes an appearance in the Manga #15, Death of 09
Where he shoots 09 down from his spacecraft, and makes another
appearance in #17 Return of 09, where he talks to Narf and winds
up cradling their lifeless body.

Flarn- Flarn makes an appearance in #15, Death of 09,
where he's running away from his brother and his sister in accusation
of being a traitor for affiliating himself amorously with Gaians. Flarn is
then shot down. Later, he returns in #17 Return of 09
as a Dark-Energy craving hybrid.

Zoit- She abducts Santa in #16 The Santa Cow Incident

Narf- They show up in comic #17 Return of 09, where Narf
is dressed like santa, passing out gifts to Believers, Zurg Hivers, GIB agents,
and GCD'ers alike. Sadly, he dies shortly after.

??? #1- A mysterious Zurg appears in the Olympics comic #26 Brains and Brawn,
his identity was never released.

In Rally, The Zurg UFO's make an appearance as obstacles.
They briefly pick you up and drop you, delaying your speed for a
few seconds
They also make an appearance as a drivable vehicle.

Every time around December, zOMG! usually updates
with a giant Christmas tree in Barton's town square. If
you look closely in that tree, you can see some Mini
UFO's decorating it.


You may have noticed the tagline that says "SORN"
in OA, northwest of Agent Caruthers (a.k.a Concerned Citizen).
This is a reference to the Zurg NPC Sorn, A.K.A. UFO 11.


Back when the Zurg event was just starting, users would
flock around water fountains found in towns and form giant
triangles around them for the alien NPC's. A homage to the old towns water fountain
which featured a floating spaceship with 4 lions surrounding
it, the zOMG fountain now resembles a flatter shaped Zurg
UFO with its tractor beam active. If that minor design change
wasn't enough to convince you, the lion statues have also been
replaced with cows, an animal sacred to the Zurg.



The Village Greens Goof course cropcircle was originally
made by the Zurg UFO's that burned a series of cropcircles into
the grass, all throughout Gaia's maps. Same size, same shape,
same location, same cropcircle.

As an added bonus, 3 Lawn gnomes spawn on each circle in
one square of the cropcircle... they spawn in a triangle!



The warp portal is a device set by the Zurg Mothership
to allow the rest of her fleet to travel back and forth
between dialed planets of their choosing. When the Zurg left,
the gate remained functional, but humans were not granted access
codes for it. Now, an invasive force of interstellar huntsmen known as
"P3's" have been using it to travel back and forth to their homeworld.
Other alien monsters known as Walkers, Landstriders,
Lightning Bugs, and Death Roaches have been using the portal.
When you walk through the portal, there is no way back, except in a
bodybag.



A reference to the Zurg plotline, the
Believers were an integrated mix of Zurg and
human users who worshiped the Zurg NPC's,
formed triangles in towns, and attempted to
start peace relations between Gaia and Zurg.
In zOMG, they're paranoid alien fans who wear
tin foil hats to stop P3's from reading their minds.
They still form triangles.
Tom: "The Zurg are returning! Our time has come!"


Not much Zurg stuff here, just a possible "happy coincidence".
The number 19 has been a reoccurring number in Zurg culture, there
just happens to be 19 buildings in Buccaneer Boardwalk. As an added
bonus, the islands are in more of an equilateral triangle formation.


Perhaps you're familiar with the Zurg Blueprints from the 2006 Invasion?
Well according to the old 19 theory guild, the map on these blueprints
resembled the pathway in Barton Trench.
When Deadmans Pass came out on zOMG!, users were quick
to spot some Easter eggs from the very same blueprints! The circled
and squared points of interest on the Zurg map were also points
of interest on the zOMG minimap!

1. A flock of clutches swarm with the words "Look out below!". [EXAMPLE]
2. The only purse (discolored clutch) in the entire map is
located in this section.[EXAMPLE]
3. A series of OMGs randomly attack you after going here.
They will continue spawning after the words "OMG what was that sound!?" flash.[EXAMPLE]



"DARKNRGY" or Dark Energy, is a substance created
out of hatred, fear, and overall negative feelings. The word
originated from the Zurg plot (it was a substance Flarn was addicted to)
but as we can see from the DMS expansion, it makes
a resurgence. When fighting Kamila's bloodrage form,
she will announce loudly:
"The Dark Energy! It is growing! Flooding my veins with ecstasy."

"He owns 19 shoes!"


19 was a re-occuring number in the Zurg plot: the aliens
constantly referenced it, people continued to make
conspiracy threads about it, and developers decided
to dedicate imagery to it. An example would be Ron's
town's address: 23 Barton 003812; add the numbers in
it together, and you get 19. (2+3+3+8+1+2=19). The
digits in Ron's birthday also equal 19, there were 19
jack-o-lantern lights in Barton,

the image of the cliff explosion, and there were 19
of each cow on the map. The UFO's also always showed
up at 1919 or 1019 in towns.


"It was because of... the Apple wars!" -Flarn


On the planet Zurg, they once had a crop called an
"apple". These were the most delicious fruits in the
universe, so delicious that a Zurg would smash their
little sisters cranial plates just to get one. War
eventually broke out for apples between brothers, they
eventually lost sight of what they were fighting for
and used the very apples they loved as weapons against each other!
But one Zurg was capable of settling the feuding
sides. Moof, the savior and prophet of the Zurg, had
eradicated their Darknrgy and saved them
from their path to self-destruction.


"01100011 01101111 01110111"


The standard way of hiding information for the public was
for a Zurg agent to "color=white" the hidden message in their posts.
Binary was a language primarily used by Mother and Blarg,
however, as Gaian's showed they could translate it easily, the
developers and admins decided to step it up a notch. Soon
each Zurg started hiding Anagrams in their binary posts and
making up their own alphabetical codex system. A popular one
was where they took the "Q,W,E,R,T,Y,U,I,O,P" keys aligned in
a row on your keyboard and made it equal:
Q = A
W= B
E = C
R = D
T = E
Etc.
Roman numerals would also be used in place of numbers.


"MoooOOOOOOoooOOoo"


Cows are Rancher-Bills primary source of livestock. They secrete
a fluid from their utters that the Zurg enjoy as a delicacy/miracle product.
To them, this fluid is known as "the White Elixir", named so because
it has the ability to cure any ailment for their race, but to
Gaians, this substance is known simply as "Milk". Cows can apparently
sense when the Zurg are coming, because they formed in triangular
formations when the Zurg first arrived. Cows also seemed to have their
own coded language in the Zurg event, since they posted various
"MoooOOOoo" codes, which were previously decodable
using an offsite "MOO" decoder application.


"I NEED MORE DARNRGY! AUUGHHHHH!!!" -Flarn
DARKNRGY is a highly addictive substance created out of
anger, hate, fear, and overall negative feelings. Flarn became
addicted to this substance when he was revived with a combination
of Zurg and Gaian technology.


"AUGHHH! PAIN!!!!!!" -Flarn


When someone is acting "Flarnal" it means they're acting emo,
sad, angry, vengeful, or post DARKNRGY Flarn-like. It's
used in offensive and playful terms. Flarnal may also be used
to describe anything red, violet, purple, crimson, or black.


"Well... it's a bit of an inside joke really..." -[NPC] alien_UFO 08


You will commonly see Zurg individuals misspell the word
"peace" as "piece". Well this is purely intentional. You see
the meaning behind this typo is in inside joke between the
Zurg Armada. They arrived on a planet scheduled for obliteration
with the guise of friendly neighborhood space dwellers vying for
peaceful negotiations... it ended with them ripping the planet apart,
piece by piece. Now when a Zurg says "we come in piece" what they
really mean is "We're going to tear your planet apart".


"Yikes, that Gambino guy keeps giving me the dirtiest looks.
Maybe he can't handle being the second-richest guy in the room. Ha!" -Ron Bruise


Ron Bruise is a very hyperactive brown-haired Caucasian
male human with a career in Gaia-cinema. He is obsessed
with the future of Gaia, condones the use of psychiatric
medication and pants, and is happily married to a woman
whose identity is currently unknown. His hobbies and
interests are: G meters, his wife, acting, love, and life.
Currently he's writing a book about eastern culture and
cocktail recipes. He resides at 23 Barton 003812 in towns.

The Zurg's preliminary research of Gaia consisted of studying
broadcasts being sent from the planet, which mainly consisted
of Ron Bruise movies. After watching enough of his movies,
they became big fans of his work.

Hey! Over here! I'll take this one! I'm so glad you asked!
You see, Cindy, I erected a gigantic satellite broadcasting station
in my back yard to beam my movies into space.

"WE AWAIT TO DESTROY YOUR PRECIOUS TACO'S" -[NPC] alien_UFO 10


The Zurg became interested in Taco's when a Gaian user suggested
to an [NPC] alien UFO that Gaia would defend itself with "Taco cannons".
Ever since that day, the Zurg had started to reference taco's and bring
them to their parties! Even 05 decided to make a human-flavored taco!



"They're nice, aren't they? They're so strong, and they occur all over the place in nature. We just like them, okay?" -Mother


A triangle is one of the basic shapes of geometry: a
polygon with three corners or vertices and three sides
or edges which are line segments. Triangles are 180°.
The triangle is a reoccurring shape to Zurg, the perfect
shape in their eyes.


"I wub watur meatz, deyz iz mai favowite aminal!"-Narf


Watermeat are a strange form of aquatic mammal found only in
the polar regions on Gaia. Narf came across them when he ran
away from mother, gathered a bunch of them, and started passing
them out to everyone on X-mas! They look like large white fish with one
orange button for the right eye, and a tiny green button for the left.

Blarg is a Male.
He has some sort of connection with ufo 03 about meat, is the main symbol
for all the other Zurg ufos (the only one with a very nicely designed profile),
did not appear in the "Exlusive" alien interview, and he screams in binary on towns.
He is the oldest out of all the aliens and is very secretive.
Not much else is known about 01. They're an enigma wrapped in bacon.
Blarg is currently off-world.




Narf was a third-gendered Zurg whose age is unknown.
They like Watermeat (Fish), Insectors (Bugs), Pora Bears (Polar Bears)
the color blue, chasing the ice cream man, icecream, and being around UFO 09.
Narf can't talk or fly well. Narfs family are very jealous of him since he
gets most of the attention from Mother, they frequently abuse him because
of this. He hates spicy things, especially wasabi.
He is the most childish and playful of all the alien NPC's.
Narf is currently deceased.





Zownd is a male.
At first glance, Zownd may not seem too threatening, but when you see this
Zurg you better turn the ******** around, step the ******** outside, and run your
a** off to the next nuclear bomb shelter because this guy is LOADED. He
spent his time primarily examining Gaia items to figure out blue-prints for a
weapon of some sort, he called it: "A weapon of mass fluffy kitty happiness".
He would accepts trades from other users to examine these weapons and
scan people in towns who looked like they were carrying something sharp,
pointy, or fully loaded. He was looking for something called a "repus dnah
snopaew", or "super hand weapons" spelled backwards.The end result was
what many suspect to be the gun Flarn used to shoot 02 with.
Zownd is currently off-world.




Zoit is a female.
Zoit, a.k.a Sunshine, is the "party girl" of the Zurg fleet. She likes to sing,
she likes to dance, and she apparently likes to DJ parties with quality
music. She collects flowers, sunflowers especially, and has a sunny
disposition towards everyone she meets. She is one of the kindest soldiers
of the fleet and is very shy in terms of romance.
Zoit is currently off-world.




Boing is a male.
05 is a chef with a very special ingredient in his meals. You see, while most
Zurg may find humans repulsive, pink, and squishy, Boing finds them to be
moist, tender, and succulent. He has over 19 million recipes for humans
stashed away in his cookbook. Although mother frowns upon his indulgence
in the fleshy pink ape, he is still allowed to prepare them for feasting.
He would destroy Gaia and everyone on it for a Klondike bar, but he would
also do that anyway if the cable went out. Boing is concerned for the
poll-whore species population dwindling in number and hypotenuses give him
gas.
Boing is currently off-world.




Zooeep is female.
Zooeep is the glorious leader of the faction known as the Zurg Hive! She
inherited leadership of the faction after Sorn left and currently reigns over the
faction with "Empress" rank. 06 likes to belittle the weak and command her
fleet with an iron fist. Zooeep has an obsession with pirates and once had a
romantic fling with a space pirate... it didn't turn out so well.
Zooeep is currently off-world.




Glarg is a male.
Glarg, or Agent 07, is a very sarcastic member of the Gaians in Black.
He is obsessed with hoverounds, likes hippies, and romanticizes with Gaian
women. He doesn't like "your mom" jokes and HATES 9 year old Timmy,
who was a little kid that drew him terrible fan-art. He wasn't afraid to say how
much it truly sucked, because it did suck! It truly truly sucked! Here, see for yourself! [X] [X] [X]
Glarg is also a frequent LAWLS drinker and believes himself to be adopted.
Glarg is currently on Gaia.




Woing is female.
Not much is known about UFO 08, other than she is emotionless and
depends on no-one. Woing was the flag-ship for the Zurg Nation. 08 was
also the one to reveal to everyone that the standard Zurg vessels
are all considered male and that only the navigators have different genders,
some coming in a "3rd gender". She revealed images of the zurg homeworld
on her profile. Woing ceased functioning when Flarn went flarnal and started
going on a revenge hunt.
Woing is deceased.





Flarn is a male.
Flarn was a very kind, very shy Zurg who was highly curious about
human beings. He was fond of a plot faction called the "believers"
and became severely attached to them, even growing amorously
involved with two different females of the group. When his family noted
this, he was deemed a traitor by his brothers and was shot down
by UFO's 11 and 06. Flarn likes taco's, pie, apples, and pee-salad.


After being shot down, mother revived him using a
still undisclosed mixture of Gaian and Zurg technology.
When he came back, he had appeared hybridized with a human.
Flarnal-Flarn was much more violent, feared watermeat, and
was addicted to "DARKNRGY" or "Dark Energy" which
was a substance created by hatred and negative feelings.
Flarn is currently off-world





Omph is a female.
Omph is a very proud warrior who serves loyally to the Zurg Armada.
They are most well known for typing in only capital letters and
over-glorifying the "warriors way". Omph challenged Sorn to a duel
to the death in towns, but instead wound up defending Sorn from Flarn
when Flarn tried to kill him first out of revenge. Omph's ship was destroyed
in the process, but upon discovering the wreckage, a body was never found.
It is assumed Omph is still out there somewhere on Gaia, wandering the
land as a proud and noble warrior.
Omph is currently missing on Gaia.




Sorn is a male.
Sorn, the original leader of the Zurg Nation/Zurg Hive, is obsessed
with ninja paraphernalia and lobsters (he is also the harborer of a
dish known as "pee-salad" ). Sorn has committed a lot of atrocities
in his time, most notably shooting down 09 and threatening to murder
Narf if he didn't show up. 11 however feels terrible for all the things he
has done in the past to his brothers and wants only forgiveness. He
tried his hand at love in the forums once, posting a topic openly
asking for someone to be his "TRUE LOVE".
Sorn is currently off-world.





Bobo is male.
Bobo is by far the shyest alien on the fleet. He constantly blushes
a bright shade of red, is afraid people won't like him, wants desperately
to please his guests, and stutters. He likes ORLY hats, peanuts,
Zurg Energy Drink, shapes, and cats. Bobo usually hides on the sidelines
away from view and, unlike the rest of his brothers, calls Mother
"mommy". It has also been revealed that Bobo is too young to
date, allowing us to assume that he is either still a child or a very
young adolescent.
Before mother and the fleet left, Bobo ran away out of fear of the
events that were occurring. They seemed to have left him behind
on Gaia. Specifically however, Bobo's whereabouts are classified.
Bobo is currently on Gaia.



Mother is Female.
Mother is the current matriarch of the Zurg homeworld and
parental unit of the 12 UFO alien NPC's (out of the 12, only one
of her children were adopted). Mother is a very kind, patient, and
maternal Zurg, but she does have a bit of a "controlling" side (she
has also been known to display aggression towards people she
doesn't like). Like Oomph, mother types in all capital letters
when she speaks. Mother originally came to gaia with the idea
of conquest and seizure of the energy created from the "explosion"
but over time she became more fond of Gaians and halted all
planned doomsday scenarios.
There was controversy over what gender Mother was in the
beginning, since her profile displayed her gender as male,
but this was determined to be a glitch in the profile system,
forcing the admins manually alter the text to say "FEmale".
Mother is currently off-world.

The Zurg Hive was founded by [NPC] alien_ufo_11 and was the faction that supported and carried out the orders of the Zurg during the Halloween 2k6 event. It was then given to [NPC] alien_ufo_06 when 11 turned treacherous. The Zurg Hive was also the official sponsor and holder of the 2006 New Years bash. When our leaders were recalled by Mother, the Hive suffered a terrible loss. They were not only our senior officers, but had become friends...family. We swore an oath to keep the Hive alive and we've done just that. Today the Hive is a close knit bunch of Zurgly Gaians with the aim to carry on perpetuating the glory of our leaders, the Zurg.
