Naota assessed the situation as best as he could before the guards tried to haul him up and out. He noted the list, names though he couldn't make out specifics. He clearly knew who Ko was, after all he was the owner of the establishment and the reason for Naota being there in the first place. Given circumstance and the brief conversation being overheard, that left the other man at the couch was another team member?

And then Naota found his shoulders gripped a bit harshly by the pair of bodyguards whom he momentarily snuck past. Now that they'd been shown up, they were no doubt up for a bit of aggressive behavior. Prove to their boss that they weren't worthless. The short man would allow himself to get hauled up and tossed backwards if only to sate their desire for revenge.

Naota hit the ground and rolled and came right back to his feet in a solid fluid motion. He even went so far as to brush himself off casually. Adjusting his jacket, he'd step closer to the couch once more.

"Pardon my manners. I'd care to join this meeting if you gentlemen don't mind."

His voice was steady and calm. Coming across as carefully measured. Hands were spread out from his waist, open and palms facing towards the pair. Naota put on a small smile, curious as to how they would react or if Ko would step in before he was forced to possibly hurt one of the men. Any result was fine, though Naota would think it a waste to bench a servant due to injury.

The man nodded, directing her over to the bar area.

"We'll take a bottle of Red Dragon."

This liquor was a dangerous kind of liquor. To the unaware, it tasted light. You could drink it down easily. Unfortunately, that awareness leads to overdrinking. And overdrinking leads to an easy state of drunk. Kitler didn't always like to use this technique for women he pick up at the bar, but it was one of those situations where he didn't care much about morality. He was in a casino for goodness sake! Those ideologies were gone the moment he walked through that door. A glass of the stuff was poured for Cale and given to her.

"Bottom's up," he said to her, taking a sip from the bottle he received.

Soon...

So Fox confirmed what Ko thought all along: it was a tournament full of a variety of fighters that would likely be considered freaks around normal humans with a normal life. Fox, Ko...they were normal. They just had the benefit of being exceptional humans at their peak. But if they wanted to stand a chance against the superhumans of HoH, then they would have to be on top of their game, too. It wasn't about the opponent, but their state of minds. A man with a weak will will lose no matter how strong or fast or skilled he is in combat. Ko was ready for that, and he assumed Fox was, too. He just had to know if the other two were capable of this feat as well. For instance, why he chose to disregard Naota being pulled to the ground.

"Speaking of training, how did your stay in Hong Kong go? I hope they didn't treat you too harshly there."

Ko looked over to the situation with Naota as he finally addressed them personally.

Ko's reply: "Get rid of him."

The guards made another attempt to apprehend the guy and try to pull him out the room.

True enough, Cale had never heard of the drink 'Red Dragon' before. Confident as she was in her ability to hold her liquor with the best of them, she took a liberal gulp as opposed to a small sip. It went down smoothly and left a pleasant warmth in its wake. She made a point to pick up some of the stuff at some point to share with the guys.

"This stuff is delicious! I gotta hand it to ya, you have good taste."

She would continue to drink the liquor in liberal quantities while they chatted, steadily loosening up and not noticing her decline into drunkenness. Unfortunately she also began to censor herself less as the evening wore on, occasionally slipping into most unladylike language.

"Indeed"

Fox nodded

"They were pretty hostile at first, regardless of my affiliation with you. Anyways, I beat up some fools and quickly gained their respect. They noticed my forte was at hand to hand fighting, so they constantly sent me to beat other gangs up when they challenged us. Hell, they even had me doing eventful prize fights-- legal and illegal. Every weekend... "

Just by looking at Fox's sharp face, one could tell his physique had changed, that he was in shape and ready to take on the world. As opposed to Sigil, where he was slightly off and a little on the heavier side.

"Believe me-- they had me fighting 'full time'."

Fox said, ignoring whatever was going on. It wasn't his concern.

Lifting her hand to her mouth to try hide the amused smile, giggling a little at the man being stopped by the guards and thrown back, but he had sprung back up...A fighter for sure...And judging from the conversation she could hear between the other two..she figured it was about the tournament. Now she was very interested, since she already knew there were some very odd people competing.
But these two she did not know, and now was as good a time as any to find out something about them.

Rather than get involved in the stand off...since the man who was thrown was obviously waiting for something.
Then the words that would no doubt start a fight were spoken by her boss..."Get rid of him."

Jay rose up from her seat, discarding the glass of wine on a nearby table, moving around the couch to find a closer seat, she enjoyed watching people fight, more than fighting herself.

Her language was getting a bit rowdy, but Kitler still didn't mind it. She was still on the attractive side, and the spunkiness just made it somehow better.

"Hey, loosen up on the drink, will ya? You're a lightweight, remember? Even the light stuff can take its toll."

Of course, he didn't want her to stop. He wanted her to so drunk to the point where the pink elephants became her buddies. He as he said this, he contradicted his warning by refilling her glass, whether she was aware of it or not. He was laughing along with her, of course, trying to keep the mood in sync. He was more somber than her, however, his drinks being less to allow him his awareness.

"Ah, that's how they do it in Hong Kong." Ko took a big swig from his glass, emptying it all. "Once you become a solider for Renshu, your worth is as much as your body. If you can't work, you're no different from the trash on the streets."

The waitress took up Ko's empty glass and walked off. The head man himself placed his hands into his pockets, relaxing fully back on the couch. Although he didn't look like it, he was half paying attention to the fight that probably was about to happen. He wanted to see how Naota reacted to the apprehension. He didn't have any specific expectations. He was just curious of a couple of things. You can tell a lot from a person simply by the smallest of details. Those details are what Ko enjoyed about life.

"These scars on my face are my medals. You'll get some, too, one day, as long as you don't die a foolish death. Well, I hope you learned some new tricks while you were there. You're a good fighter, but it'll mean little if you get torched by some pyromaniac at this tournament."

Ironic, considering Ko did something similar to someone else at the least Heaven or Hell. Provided, his opponent was no less capable, and managed to leave the right side of Ko's face numb for an entire week after that fight.

"Lightweight my a**... I'm doin' fine, right?" She slurred, vaguely aware of a slight buzzing in her skull that gradually grew in volume and made her head feel fuzzy. She didn't realize the usually-familiar signs of getting tanked though, due to the smooth nature of the liquor and their mellow conversation. Usually she was a lot rowdier and drinking a lot heavier when she would get hammered with her buddies.

"If ya don' want me drinking, ya better give me somethin' else to do. Let's play somethin', or go somewhere... 'stead of just sittin' around. Any fights tonight? Parties?"

She hadn't intended to get wasted when she came, or she'd have chosen a less classy venue. She didn't like to get drunk in nice places. In fact, she generally wasn't used to going nice places period.

Naota wanted to convince himself that it wasn't his fault that a short brawl was about to break out, but then he wouldn't have snuck past the guards in the first place. A momentary lapse in judgement for what was an otherwise overly cautious and calculating man. Making a show of his talents to his new found employer was just salvaging what was left of the situation. After hearing Ko give the order to dispose of him, the tone of the situation was plenty clear to the sharply dressed man.

The guards approached, reaching out to grab him by the forearm and with the likely intent to haul the short asian out of the casino. Given their previous success, they wouldn't be too expectant of any sort of retaliation. A big of kicking and squirming at the worst. It was something Naota was banking on. He would surge from a passive stance to one far more aggressive one. His left flashed out to grip the outreaching hand of the left guard even as he stepped closer and to his outside.

Careful placement of fingers and a good angle allows a much smaller and physically weaker fighter to gain control of an opponent's hand. Using his grip on the guard's hand, Naota would twist. Locking up and twisting the man's arm, forcing him to lean forward or lose a joint. Of course, leaning forward brought him face first into Naota's right knee as it came rocketing up. After smashing the man's nose back into his skull, he would bring his free hand down into the guard's shoulder with an audible pop.

Seconds had passed, the second guard still stepping closer and reacting. Naota released the first one by using him as a weapon. Shoving the guard towards the other to stumble him up. Sadly, the two didn't seem to be much of comrades. The injured man was tossed aside, but it did buy the suited man enough time to come up with a plan of action.

The guard came for him with a solid right hook, which was relatively easy enough to dodge. The man was too upset and was acting overly aggressive. Stepping in, Naota would grip the man's extended arm while turning and planting his hips. Using the guard's forward momentum to pivot him over his own center of balance; His hips. To the ground the guard would go, his rise halted by a well polished shoe coming crashing down into his jaw and bouncing it off of the floor.

One man out cold, the other spilling blood from his face and clutching at a broken arm, Naota would slowly release his breath. Calming himself as he smoothed out his jacket. A quick glance around the room would make it clear that he'd garnered plenty of attention from various casino goers. Not an effect he was aiming for. There was one who caught his eye for being out of place but he wasn't in the best situation to stop the snoop.

Opting to walk around this time, Naota took his seat back.

Jay was leaning forward in her chair, gripping the arms so tight her knuckles had turned white. that was short but oh so sweet, he could move, fast and precise..a dangerous combination, yet all she could think of was how much she would love to have a go and putting him down. That was why she had been asked by her friend to compete with him, the damn woman never gave up...and was always willing to try.
No matter how outmatched she was, never knew when you were going to get lucky right?

Realising that she looked as though she was about to jump the poor man she relaxed and slowly stood up, readjusting the belt around her mid section and rolling her shoulders back.

[******** to go now.."

Looking at the man as he made his way back to the other two, figuring he had noticed her..and that was not a good thing, considering she was now lusting after a good fight.
Turning and walking away to the changing room, Jay would quickly remove the outfit she had worn and put the purple and black outfit back on. checking to make sure her custom blades were still in her boots as she walked back out into the crowd.

Glancing over at the group once more before collecting her money and walking to the door, pulling out her phone to call a taxi...she wasn't going back to her bar tonight, no, she needed to go to her friend's gym that he had set up for her team. It would be the safest way to release the frustration she was trying so hard to hide.

Finally. This was it, Kitler. This was the moment you were waiting for. He stood to his feet, adjusting his unwoven tie around his collar, then threw an arm around Cale.

"Yeah. I can take you a party you won't forget."

He then went to lead her to the exit, giving a wink to a guard who was keeping watch of the situation. The guard knew what was going to happen. They two were either going to get it on or pass out drunk who-knows-where. As long as it wasn't anywhere near the premises, he could care less. Kitler had the bottle in his hand, which was nearing empty.

--------------------------------------------------------

More guards came to join the scene as the room sort of went quiet due to the disturbance. Something like this happened every other week, so it wasn't too much of a strange thing to happen in a Triad joint. When the guards approached the table, they were ready to brawl. A couple tended to the two now incapitated on the floor. Ko looked on without saying a word as Naota sat down at their table.

"Go get them fixed up," he said to the guards. "He's with me."

Finally, a word of confirmation for Naota's safety. It was cruel to sacrifice two men for a little test, but that was the way of the Triads. No one said this was a job for the weak. And if they were weak, they'll grow up eventually. His eyes looked over to the new arrival, giving him his attention.

"Where did you say you were from again?"

Cale didn't object to Kitler's arm around her. Indeed she slung one of her long, lean arms over his shoulders in return. Beneath the loose white dress shirt she wore, her forearm was toned and hard with muscle, more so than would normally be considered attractive on a woman.

"Awwwwww now there's a fight starting though--" In much the same way as Jay, except more drunken, Cale's head had whipped around when the fight began. She watched the well-executed moves with an adoring gaze that she certainly hadn't given to her current companion. But then again, the fight was over quickly and they seemed to be settling down for conversation. Boring. "Well, that was fast. Never mind."

Leaning on Kitler heavily, she shuffled on out of the casino with him, looking forward to this unforgettable party. Perhaps the most shameful part of her exit, though, was the fact that she had forgotten to retrieve her pistol in the excitement of watching the brief fight and being completely wasted.

Normally she didn't give the weapon up in the first place, so she wasn't used to having to retrieve it at all. In any case, one might question the safety of giving her a gun while she was in such a state. It might be for the best that she had forgotten it.

A fight? Oh no. This could be bad. It would totally break the mood, then the woman was going to get away from him. He couldn't have that. He nervously looked over, but was relieved to see it quickly resolved. He didn't want to destroy her drunken mood. In fact, it seemed like it only augmented her attitude. Her arm going around him made him realize something that he didn't catch before: this woman had some muscle underneath that shirt of hers. He was happy for the contact of her body, but this certainly made him think that this girl was a regular gym worker. That must have meant, then, that she probably could handle her own if it came to it. Not that he was thinking of using excessive force against her anything, but it did make him worry, regardless.

Leading her out the door, he walked her across the street to where his car was parked. It was a silver Honda, fairly well made to hint that his salary wasn't bad. He helped her into the car. Only then did he get in afterwards to turn the ignition.

"Ready to go see the sights?"

"Ooh hey, nice wheels." Cale allowed herself to be helped into the passenger seat, running a hand along the decently well-kept interior of the car. "Sure is nicer'n the li'l shitbox I'm used to."

She giggled, picturing the beat-up old thing she was used to being driven around in. She didn't own a car or even have a license for that matter, although that didn't stop her from driving when the need arose. Predictably enough, she was a very reckless driver. She preferred running anyway.

"Sure am ready! C'mon, floor it, I don't wanna miss the party!"

Fox titled his head a little, looking over Ko's shoulder. There was a guy stirring up a fight with the guards. Strangely enough, he was allowed to sit next to Ko's, joining the table.

"I hope you're not on the team."

Fox said, with a straight face.

Naota would give Ko a reverent bow, or as much of one as he was able to from a sitting position. One must always have respect for your superior, a tenant held firmly by the man's family. The swarming guards would slowly disperse, having likely been seconds away from tearing the man's head off. He didn't seem phased by the situation, remaining as calm as he was prior to even walking over.

"Rokugan is the name of the land. Not often heard I am afraid."

His voice carried the usual arrogance and careful annunciation one would expect from someone in the high upper class. He was committed to the role that he'd chosen for himself, and would continue to sell it for appearances sake. Meanwhile, the only other one included in the meeting made a remark that could only be taken as an insult.

Naota matched Fox's gaze and gave a small shrug of his shoulders. His own face was devoid of emotion or reaction. It would take a bit more than that to irritate the man.
