"You know", Beatrix said as she watched her fill her glass, "I could have gotten that for you. Anyways maybe you should go to the college on the other side of town and check the books they have there. I mean the reason we purchased this place was because of that door." She pulled up a barstool and took a seat placing her hands in her lap. Business was slow if not dead with no signs of getting better.
Nat glanced around as she slipped the bag of gold she'd just 'aprehended' from a passerby into her sleeve and took off quickly away from the dock. The further she got from the dock and her beloved ship, the more she felt the absolute dread of knowing she wouldn't be coming back to it ever again. Never before had she imagined her crew could be so easily manipulated by some random two-faced jabbermouth who managed to somehow jump ship onto her vessel and turn her entire crew against her. After so many years of loyal service, she was forever banished from her ship. She scowled as she continued walking. The bitterness of mutiny still fresh on her tongue.

"Meh.. they'll get theirs. They'll be begging for me back come sundown."

Before she realized how far she'd gotten, Nat rounded a corner and found herself coming towards a quaint looking inn. She slowed to a meander and contemplated going in for a drink and perhaps a rest. She hadn't slept in a good many days and definitely could use the companionship of some rowdy testosterone-filled vermin. She'd been looking for a fist fight ever since she was made to get off at the next port. Which happened to be this very one.

The decision was an easy one. She made her way towards the inn and opened the door. As she made her way in, she realized it was not the place she had been hoping for. In fact, she didn't see a single man whatsoever. However, the inhabitants did look interesting enough. She shrugged and let herself inside.
Hanako sighed and smiled. "I know. But i work here too ya know? And the college is to far away and they don't always have the books that i require. And Ta-kun manages to get me new books that come on sale at the magical bookstores. So my libaray is basically up to date." She said as she took a sip of her wine. "The only problem i have with the books is where to store them. My study is full to the brim with magic books."

Cealdia nodded to Beatrix in acknowledgment, before digging into her food. She temporarily forgot about her alcohol while she enjoyed the first real meal she'd had all day.

Her attention was drawn from her "feast" by the sound of the door opening. Cealdia turned to watch the newcomer enter, noting her stride. This was definitely a woman who possessed more confidence than herself.

"Studying and applying are two different things. Trust me I once was blessed with magic.", Mice'pellan sighed. Thinking of home made left her with an empty feeling. The door opened once again letting in a painful stream of light.

"Welcome sir!", Beatrix greeted with a smile and a small wave, "What can we do for you today?" She pushed herself up off the barstool she had been sitting on moments before.
Nat saw the winged girl sitting at the bar first. She smirked and made her way over.

"Oi, you! You got a permit for those things? They'll put an eye out." She let out a laugh and turned her attention to the girl behind the bar.

"Hey, Barkeep. Whaddaya got that'll knock me out? Mind you, I can hold my liquor. So it better be some strong stuff, y'hear?" She turned again to the dragon girl and went to slap her on the back but, not knowing exactly what kind of damage the wings could do, decided against it and instead stretched her arms over her head and yawned loudly.

"Kinda quiet in here, ain't it?"
Hanako sighed. "True. But that means getting down to the college, finding a place to hide my door, and then creating a spell to change the color dial on the main door to connect to the door in the college. It's just to much work." She said as she sat down at the bar to drink her wine.
She then looked over at the girl that had just arrived at the inn. "Who are you to be making such demands? Mind you, i don't take kindly to rude patrens who come here." She said as she glared darkly at the girl. She could smell a hit of the salty air in the girls scent. "Bloody pirates. Think they own the world."
((I couldn't resist saying that. lol. no more Pirates movies for me. XP))

Cealdia stared at the brash woman blankly, completely unsure of how to respond. She vaguely muttered something along the lines of "I'm sorry," though she had no idea what she was apologizing for. When she mentioned that it was quiet, Cealdia shrugged and said, "Yeah, I kinda like it to be honest..."

The drow turned around and grabbed a bottle of vodka off the wall. She handed it to the man. "Unfortunately this is the strongest we have at the moment. We still need to purchase supplies and such", Beatrix rubbed her hands together, "We just opened and this..." she spread her arms wide, "...is our opening crowd." Her arms returned to her hips, "Pathetic."
Nat raised a brow at the winged girl.

"What's your name, anyway? Ah, nevermind.. I'll make one for you myself. I wouldn't remember nothin' you told me anyway." She smiled what she hoped to be a friendly smile. The girl seemed a little skittish. Unfortunately for her, that was the type of person Nat liked to rough up a bit. She furrowed her brow in thought.

"...Buttercup." She nodded in satisfaction.
Nat took the bottle from the girl behind the bar.

"Um.. did you call me 'sir' a bit ago when I walked in?" She patted her chest. "These here are grade A female knockers." She grabbed the girls hand and held it to her chest. "See? They're as real as can be. And trust me, if you don't believe me now, you don't wanna know where I'm puttin' your hand next." She let out another hearty laugh and took a swig from the bottle she'd been handed.

"Hey.. how'd you know I was a pirate anyway? You a mind reader or somesuch? 'Cause trust me.. you don't wanna be up in my mind too long. It's a little messy up there, y'know?"

"...Alright," Cealdia responded meekly, somewhat afraid to contradict the woman. She mentally searched for something else to say, but couldn't come up with anything better than, "So, what's your name?"
Hanako glared at the girl even more and took her hand back. "You are drunk madam. I don't not call you 'sir' at all. And i knew you were a pirate from the heavy smell of salt air that hovers around you. And if you must know, i was just born with a highly sensitive nose. About as sensitive as a dog's nose. And i don't think i want to be inside the mind of a pirate anyway. It would be a bloody mess in there anyway." She said as she sipped her wine.
"Nathashia Ellehcim at yer service. Hah, funny story really. My mum got knocked up before she even knew my dad's last name, so my last name is just my mom's first name spelled backwards. Not sure why she didn't just have me take the last name she already had..." Nat trailed off and took another swig.

"Ah hell.. you can call me Nat though. Nathashia sounds too damn.. well... pretty, right? No man can respect a woman with a woman's name. They think they can take advantage of you. That ain't the case though. I'd rough 'em up real good if they tried anything. Ain't that right, Buttercup?" She sighed heavily and took another swig from the bottle.

Before moving her hand Beatrix gave them a playful squeeze. "Sorry I missed them. Just a little small you know", she said as she placed her own hands on her breast. "The baggy clothes just aren't doing anything for ya'." The drow smiled enjoying this new costumer's company. "So MA'AM, you a traveler?"
