Beatrix stared down the cover of Hanako's book for an answer. The creak of the door opening and the beam of light pooring through cause the drow's attention imediately. Out of the corner of her eye Beatrix watched the stange girl approach the bar. Losing patience for the wizard's reply she put up her hand and turned her full attention to you Cealdia.

"Welcome maelthra dalhar", said the drow with a smile as she studied the unusual girl from behind her glasses, "You looked a little lost coming in. Anything I can get for you today?" Beatrix grabbed a glass from beneath the counter and placed it before the girl.

Cealdia examined the drow in front of her, fascinated by her. She had traveled to many towns, but could never recall seeing anyone quite like her. Her pointed ears suggested that she was an elf of some kind, but not any kind of elf she had encountered before. Cealdia felt a strange sense of kinship with the woman because of this; she was different, just like her.

Cealdia smiled weakly, her best attempt at a friendly gesture. She took another look around the room, but was dismayed when she could not locate any kind of menu. Giving up on finding one, she returned her attention to the drow. "Yes, I would like a drink. Would you happen to have any Goat?"
The magical door opened in the kitchen and Hanako stepped out, sighing. She had a stack of 7 books balenced on one hand as she closed the door and walked into the bar. She sat down at her usual spot and started reading the first book on the pile. She blocked out the world as she read up on magic spells.

Beatrix turned around to grab an unmarked hard liquor and spiced rum of the shelf, "Hanako could you make me some orange juice?" The kitchen door caught her attention as she turned to greet who she thought was Saya walking through.

"Orthae shu!", the drow exclaimed as Hanako walked past the counter. Her hands fumbled almost dropping both bottles. She placed them both safely on the counter and grabbed a shot glass from beneath the counter. She opened the unmarked rum, placed the shot glass to the rim of the bottle and pour the girl a shot.

"On the house. If you'll give me a moment I need to go check on our orange juice", Beatrix said as she gently patted Cealdia's hand. With that she walked into the kitchen and began searching for oranges and carbonated water.

((Please don't forget what your character was doing in post before!))

Saya sighed, placing the scrap of crumpled parchment on the desk. She opened a drawer in fron t of her, pulling a bottle of silver ink and a small falcon's feather quill from it. She began to write, eyebrows furrowed in concentration.

Cealdia's smile widened at the phrase "on the house." She savored whatever free alcohol she could get, since she usually could barely even afford what she ordered. "Thank you," she said sincerely, reaching for the glass. She started a little at the unexpected physical contact when the woman patted her hand, but she shook it off and lifted the glass, downing it quickly before placing the glass back on the counter. She watched the bartender leave for the kitchen, already feeling a little better. She could sense a familiar buzz reaching her head. It was likely due to the placebo effect, she knew, since it would take a lot more than that to get her drunk, but as long as that familiar feeling was there she didn't care what was causing it.

Silverstreak wandered into the bar, its claws clicking on the floor as it walked. It hopped onto a stool, and gave Beatrix a 'puppy stare'. The little dragon had learned that puppy looks got mostly anything if it was a food or drink item.

Cealdia jumped visibly, her smile immediately fading as the little dragon hopped up onto a stool near her. She subconsciously leaned away from it, eyeing the creature suspiciously as if she expected it to suddenly jump up and attack her. She began flexing her wings nervously, torn between bolting in fear and staying to receive more alcohol.

Discontent with what she was finding up in the kitchen Beatrix opened the doors to the cellar and entered. She made her way straight to the dry storage grabbing a couple oranges and a bottle of carbonated water off a shelf. The drow hurried back up to the kitchen placing the ingredients on the counter before grabbing a juicer from one of the many cabinets in the room. She hurried back through the door to the tavern and back behind the bar where she prepared the Goat Cealdia had order.

"You didn't get too lonely without me did you maelthra dalhar?", Beatrix asked as she grabbed a knife and cut one of the oranges open before juicing it on the juicer. She pour a measured amount of carbonated water into the cup before adding the orange juice she had created. Her hands twisted the second half of the fruit on the juicer. "So are you a local or a traveler? And if a traveler did you come by foot or boat?"

"Oi, Silverstreak! Don't go scaring the customers. You don't want to have to stay upstairs, do you?" Saya called, walking into the bar. She glared at the beagle sized dragon, who jumped down with a squeak. "I'm sorry miss. Silver's actually pretty friendly. Are you planning on staying a while?" she asked, smiling at the newcomer.

Cealdia watched the little dragon jump down, feeling herself relax considerably. She turned her attention to the woman who seemed to own the creature. "That's alright. It's just that I haven't had the... best experience with dragons in the past." She shook herself to keep from dwelling on past memories before continuing. "I'm not sure how long I'll be staying. However long it takes to earn a few gold."

Cealdia straightened herself on the stool again, addressing the bartender. "Naw, I had some... company," she said with a quick glance back toward the dragon. "I'm a traveler, came by foot. I'm hoping to maybe find a way to earn enough money to buy passage on one of the ships. I never have before." She chose not to mention the few times she had slipped onboard without paying.

"Well, if you're planning on staying here, come by the front desk. I'll get you a room if you need it. Also, I don't own Silverstreak; she's my daemon although she does what she likes normally." Saya remarked, smiling at Cealdia. "Can I get a green tea please Beatrix? I'll be at my desk if you need me." with that, the elf turned and walked back to her desk, her daemon following her.

Beatrix had already made the assumption that this girl before her was poor. Her clothes were a dead give away. She handed her the finished drink, "Well work should be easy to find around here, it's a port city there's always something going on."

The drow left the Cealdia to her drink turning to Saya. "Of course darthirii", she said with a twisted grin, "I'll be right there with it." Beatrix walked back into the kitchen to do someone else's job of prepping the tea. She grabbed a kettle off the wall and filled with water before placing it on the stove. Then she grabbed some firewood that was over by the cellar door and put it beneath the stove top lighting it with a match. She closed the door and watched Cealdia through the window between both rooms.

"While I'm in here would you like something to eat? Just to warn you it may not be very good, our cook is the one over in the corner...", she pointed out the window to the reading Hanako, "...but as you can see she's occupied."
