Sadly, Adrian's reaction was not what she had hoped for. Sighing softly, she stopped kissing him, and laid her head back on the pillow. Letting out a slight sigh, she closed her eyes for just a moment. She could kill him now, she thought, it wouldn't hurt her at all.
But it would. Lotus knew that whatever was hurting her, was taking her over one moment at a time. It wouldn't be long before she was really trying to kill him. What was wrong? Lotus wanted to ignore Adrian's question, kick him out of her bed, and never talk to him again, but given her current state, that would only hurt her more. "Am, I not pretty anymore?" Out of every question she could ask, that's the one that came to her mind. She didn't look different, her teeth still straight and white, just..sharp. Her nails were still clean and polished, but ..sharp. Sighing softly, she kissed his cheek and sat up on the bed. "I was talking to Krauly, and he asked me if I was okay, and I ran up here, because my skin was crawling.....like I had bugs in my bloodstream. And I passed out...and I woke up." Lotus's voice was a relief for her own ears. She sounded like her, she still thought like her, well for the most part, she just looked...different. But Adrian didn't need to know everything. Lotus, wiped her red tinted eyes and got up from the bed. Slowly, she paced around the room, not knowing where to go.

Shadow watched her as she spoke. She seemed really distracted from their kiss. '' I don't know. The longer I'm restricted by this bracelet the worse I get. But the plan is simple...I lure the demon out...we kill him and I get my soul back...everything goes back to normal. '' Shadow explained in short hand. '' But if I didn't sell my soul I wouldn't have been able to get him to come out. If I couldn't get him to come out then I'd die. '' The only thing Shadow hadn't told her was that he sold his soul so that he'd be able to protect her if anyone were to harm her while he still breathed. Ten minutes with no restriction on his power was more than enough time to kill someone. That was enough time to destroy a city, a country even. But for now he would leave that unsaid. He knew she wasn't the one for sweet romantic talk. '' But what if I didn't have a lot of time...what would you do? '' Shadow asked curious.

"Oh yeah. You get killed. Pretty simple." Sarcasm oozed from her mouth. As annoyed as Madam was. As scared as Madam was the man in-front of her deserved some faith. Not a lot of faith. But faith.

"Well.." Sighing Madam shook her head. "If you didn't have lot of time left I guess I would tell you certain things I never have." Like..well..wouldn't that be everything. Smirking Madam shrugged her shoulders. "I would watch you die and throw funeral..then rot up here for my days." Oh she'd be crushed. Chances were she'd die of a heart break or a related over dose.

"Until I find new husband who buys me fancy things." Joking she spread her lips out in a grin. Approaching Shadow again Madam wrapped her arms around his shoulders, draping her elegant form against his rock of a body.
"But before that I guess I would have to make love to you." Raising both eyebrows in a suggestive manner.
"Even let you do that thing I refuse to do." Oh, he knew the thing. Most men know the thing. Chuckling softly she placed her head onto his chest. His scent was intoxicating. Was that blood mixed with anguish. Damn..Her hands roamed downwards over his back, her nails gracing his flesh ever so until she reached his rear, her hands being naughty and threatening to squeeze.
"We would make most of our time, yesss?" Madam hissed, her lips sneaking upwards for a kiss on his chin, her pelvis rubbing against his thigh, but completely uncontrollable.
Whispering now Madam didn't really wish to let go. "It would be long time coming. We haven't enjoyed each other in weeks.." It was true. Strange, considering. "Can we..have one real quick? Please?" Madam almost begged, but he could simply not be up to it. Which would be fine but he would have to clear the room so she could plug in her porn.

Adrian listened in shock. She was acting so very strange but she was still his love. '' You are pretty baby. '' Adrian said his tone soft. When she got up and began walking around he got up with her. Resting his hands on her shoulders he spoke. '' Sweetheart. Please let me help you. What's wrong. When did this happen? '' He asked curious. '' Your appearance doesn't depict my love for you. But it's very sudden and unexpected. I just want to make sure everything is ok. '' Adrian said being very serious. Something wasn't right and he wasn't going to let it go till he knew what was up. Listening to her talk about Krauly he wondered if he had something to do with it but doubted that was the case. Perhaps this was the demon or ghost or something Shadow had been talking about. Her skin was warm, much warmer than normal for her. It was almost too hot to touch but that didn't matter to him. '' Maybe you should come back to bed with me... '' Adrian suggested calmly.

Adrain's words floated inside Lotus's head, and she slowed down so he could put his hands on her. Normally, she hated being touched; but this was Adrian. She couldn't turn away from him, she couldn't walk away, and no matter how much her body was aching to take a swing, she knew it wouldn't happen. Taking Adrian's hand, Lotus followed him back to the bed. If she ever held doubts that Adrian loved her, they were gone. After sitting, and using the silence to figure out what she needed to say, Lotus finally spoke, making sure it was her own voice, not the demon inside of her."I got up this morning, and felt really sick. My first thought was, holy s**t, I'm pregnant." Lotus chuckled softly, trying to joke around with her love, trying to show him that she was okay. "But I wasn't. It was, I was craving something, and after not eating or sleeping for so long, I went out to the Forrest, and killed a deer. It was horrid.." Lotus stopped for a moment, sighing. She didn't expect Adrian to understand, but hoped he did anyway. "I ripped it apart, I ate everything, I threw the bones under a bush, and I came back and showered. Then I went downstairs, and started talking to Krauly. I guess something was off about me, and he asked if I enjoyed his concert last night. I don't even remember a concert." Lotus tilted her head back, and suddenly found herself in Adrian's lap, cuddled up to his chest like a scared child. "Then things got really weird. Krauly was sitting there, just looking at me. And I got this crazy idea, that if I pulled back, and hit him, with everything I had, I'd knock him off the chair. And then we'd fight, and it was an exciting thought." Lotus stopped and sighed, feeling her heart beat get more excited as she went on. "But, that's not something I'd do. I wasn't gonna hit him out of no where. I don't think I would hit him regardless. But much less enjoying it. Then he was looking at me, and it almost felt like, he knew I was thinking that. And then I started thinking, what else does he know? Lotus felt herself look up at Adrian, as his arms wrapped her. "I mean, lately, just everything feels weird. I have been having dreams, about killing Madam, and Shadow..Krauly, " Lotus stopped at averted her eyes. "You." She whispered, the rational part of her feeling ashamed. "And then I felt my skin get really itchy, and it felt like there was something crawling on me. And so I ran upstairs, ran into the bathroom, and passed out. And then I woke up to this." She motioned to her red eyes and long nails. "And I don't know what it is..."

Shadow was struck stupid by her remarks. She'd be heart broken, sad even? That was in itself great. But what she said next nearly stopped his heart. She said she'd make love to him. The ******** was that? Shadow couldn't remember a time where their sex was anything close to love making. But the thought was so...sweet. It was unlike anything he had heard from her. But it was something he was curious about. Though thinking on it now it was a little disheartening to know it took him dying to make these sorts of things possible. But to answer her. '' Of course we'd make the most of our time. ' He said serious. He loved her dearly so of course he'd devote time to her. But she was right. They hadn't had sex in what felt forever. What kind of husband was he if he couldn't please his wife when she needed it. So what was cute was that she felt like she needed to beg. Taking her in his arms he swung her to the bed and laid her down underneath him. Kissing her deeply once more he spoke his lips just above hers. '' Yeah...we can do this. But you must know...it won't be quick. '' Shadow said with a wicked grin. Reaching for the light he clicked it off and their long night of sexual escapades would ensue. For it was long...long over due.

Lady Lotus

Much to her dismay, Lotus awoke from bed with a stammering headache. Sighing softly, she shook out her long crimson locks and crawled out of bed.
She was tired, amazingly tired. This thought only came to her when she saw her reflection in the bathroom mirror. Dark circles had covered her once pale face, her red eyes looked drained. Her nails were still deadly, teeth still sharp. All it all, it annoyed her. Picking up a pair of scissors, she quickly snipped her hair, getting rid of the majority of it, until it fell in a way that her black hair once did. With a smile of relief, she realized that even with that simple jester, she was feeling like her normal self. Quickly she clipped her nails, painted them with a pale pink color as her smile grew bigger. She was certainly happier with her new appearance.
Before turning off the bathroom light, she smiled at her reflection, once again feeling pretty in her body. Sadly, the transformation had taken a tole on how she felt, after all who could love a monster? Her teeth were still white and straight, but the sharpness would be hard to deflect. Her eyes, well, they would stay red. There wasn't hope for them either. Turning off the light, she quietly snuck out, and back into the room Adrian and her shared. Carefully, she tip-toed, trying to not awaken the sleeping man. However, as she was about to leave to go downstairs, she found herself wanting to cuddle next to the man she loved.
Creeping up to the bed, she crawled under the covers and cuddled close Adrian. Breathing softly on his collar bone, she planted a small kiss there, and whispered, "Adrian..wake up love."

Castles were pretty. Castles were gorgeous, majestic, steeped in history as they sat poised atop their rocky outcroppings and secretive in their hidden forests. But castles had always meant only one thing to the old b*****d perched above the door of this one:

Loot.

And the idiots they drew to their moldy, crumbling walls, staring up stupefied at the once-great structure as it decayed. Rotting away into itself. The trick was to save the valuables before they, too, succumbed to the entropy of time. And if you couldn't get to the good stuff inside, you might as well rob the fools who flocked to poke the corpse.

Not that any of this philosophical crap ran through Kuronue's head. Nope. He was crouched down real low, absolutely positive nobody could see the jagged outline of his hat silhouetted against the stone. Nevermind the stupidly long elf-like ears or the flash of fangs as they were licked by a disturbingly long tongue. Nevermind the jut of small wings pressed awkwardly against his back, knuckles whitened along the edge of the overhang as he waited for the right moment to strike. He'd seen people flit in and out of that door enough to know another would be on its way soon.

In his hand a small, gleaming red stone clasped to a long silver chain rested, glassy surface fogged by his impatient mutterings.

When Toda traveled it was rarely anything more than fleeing one place and ending up by happenstance at another. His time in this world stretched now to months and he'd spent most of them alone. His roommate had abandoned their home and he'd stayed long after. Stayed until the lights went out and the electricity was taken away in lieu of the fact he didn't have his name on the bill. Couldn't pay it if you didn't have a name on it. Funny how willing those places were to refuse your hard earned cash. He'd sat in the dark cold on that sofa day after day. Tossed out the stuff in the fridge as it steadily went bad and ended up living on crap ramen and cans of cold, shitty soup. He'd lost weight in that time and it showed; his body had never had much to spare to begin with.

Toda was a depressed man. A young man trying to get by in a world he didn't understand and that would never, ever be like home. A world where you really couldn't trust anyone, especially if they seemed nicer than most. He was at the s**t end of the food chain here and he knew it. Had come to accept the fact. It showed in his hunched posture, hands in pockets of plain jeans, tall body moving through the scattered crowd with just as much aim as a stray pigeon. Evade the bad, eat to survive, s**t, sleep if you can. Maybe lose a few toes or a foot and keep on living until some jackass feeds you poison-laced breadcrumbs.

He didn't notice the looming beauty of the castle and the majesty of its surroundings. Didn't pay much attention to the statuesque forms nearby and how one was a little more alive than the rest. Didn't care and might not have if he had seen it. Chin low and glasses drooping on the bridge of his nose, Toda stepped beneath the shadows of the great fortress and through the threshold, long blond hair a starkly natural color in comparison to all the greens and blues and rose-reds and whatever the hell else was common place. Human blood in veins and five bucks wadded at the bottom of a wallet tucked into his butt pocket. Not much else but a name.

A name.

And to think he'd wanted to be a renown scientist. What a waste.

With a slight sigh, Lotus pulled away and kissed Adrian's forehead. There was clearly an unspoken understanding between the two. Adrian was not getting up tonight. But that was okay, he'd make it up to his lovely girlfriend in the morning. She'd make sure of it. Since Adrian wouldn't be up, Lotus decided she would go downstairs and drink until she was ready for bed.
Doning a light blue silk house coat, while wearing only a short pair of shorts and a bra underneath, she headed down the stairs and into the lobby. It was really quiet, which wasn't normal for this type of establishment. Lotus shrugged anyway, and headed to the bar. Finding a bottle of vodka, she poured some into a glass, only to finish the rest off with blueberry juice.
Settling onto the couch near the front door, she picked up her newest book, and started reading. At a point, Lotus thought she heard a noise outside, but shrugged it off and continue to read.
