"Echo!" The girl chimed, before taking Digi's hand, and giving the women a knowing smile. Her eyes narrowed, and the childish facade dropped. "My dearest daughter, so good to see you." The little girl said, as she reached her free hand up and ran her small finger's through the woman's hair.

Digi's eyes widened in shock, fighting the urge to recoil. This was her mother, Kiro's most recent wife, in the body of a child! Tears welled up in her eyes, Spilling over silently before she touched the girls brow, voice quivering. "Momma..?"

She frowned, "You would think to recoil from me? Well, won't allow that, and tears." The girl said in a soothing tone, as her small hands patted Digi's cheeks gently. "Really.....and I can feel the presence of my son outside to. As for Elonia, I can only imagine what trouble she is in." With a sigh, she dropped her hands, and went to sit again in the middle of the carpet floor, in front of the warmth of the fire. "Sit with me, Kuro went to make something to eat for us." She laughed softly, and went back to playing with her train. "Its peaceful here.."

"Only recoil from the shock momma." She smiled a bit, wiping the tears from her eyes before following the child/her mom. She knelt again at her mother's side, turning one way, then the next, making her back pop. "That's better.. Cecil is outside, yes, but I think my sister may still be at the Steele Mansion." She shuddered slightly,, eyes turning to stare at the ground. "Dad's there fighting I think.."

She smiled and nodded, "Yes well you would be surprised whom he is fighting." She said softly, then glanced up. "Ah food!" She squealed as she lept up and ran towards Kuro, throwing her arms around his legs.

Kuro stilled, carrying a silver tray, two bowls of something steaming resting on top. "Lady Echo, you going to make me spill." He said in a scolding yet gentle tone. He stepped out of her grip, and strode to where the girls where sitting. He set the try down, and stood again. "If you don't mind, since you have a form of protection here, I shall check on Lady Terra." He said, turning to Echo, and bowing.

Echo walked past, patting his head. "Yes go, thanks for the food." She giggled, then plopped down on the floor. "Mmm...Chicken nooodle, a classic." She said, picking up the bowl and smelling it. She glanced at Digi then, "Eat!"

Once getting permission, Kuro nodded, and quietly left.

Digi muttered about how poor protection she was, before smiling at her mother. She picked up her soup, blowing on it before taking a sip of the broth. "It is delicious.." She smiled sadly, not really having anything to compare it to. She couldn't say her mom made better soup, because she'd never met her mother before now. "So what's going on Mom? What are you talking about with daddy?"

"Your perfect protection so don't worry." She said, before putting the bowl to her lips and taking a small sip. Lowering it, she licked her lips, and her cheery demeanor darkened. "Hmmm......I thought him dead..." she mumbled, "Really I am surprised...sad though..things turned out this way. It can never be again never ever. Hopefully Terra returns so that we can continue our little journey. Still she seeks him out."

She frowned a little, head tilting before taking another sip. "Nothing can be done? You'll never be with dad again?" Part of Digi prayed that this wasn't true. She didn't want to see her father cry or be hurt this way.

She shook her head, "I doubt it, when I was reborn, the memories came with it. Imagine going..." She quieted for a moment, her hands clenching the bowl tightly, and a fear gripped her small form. "That going through that..and the one person.....wasn't there.." She set the bowl down, and bowed her head, taking in a deep breath."

Digi set her bowl to the side, gathering her mother into her arms and pulling the child into her lap. She hugged the girl gently, rocking her a little. "I know mom... I know very well the pain you feel..."

Cecil huffed out a gruff sigh, before sitting in his place on the ground. He heard the noise behind him of people talking, followed by the doors being closed. This wasn't how things were supposed to be. Cecil had trained far to long and done far to much to be so far from his father in the most time of need. He inclined his head backwards staring up at the sky. "Come on dad." He whispered to himself. Cecil was anxious, he could already imagine the scene in his head of the grave battle against the underlords that was soon to come. He acknowledged the outfits attired by the many forces of the Shadow Cleric, a sect of shadow mancers who were fond of the non-demi races. Cecil thought of himself garbbed so and smiled. "Soon enough father will invite me into their great sect, and then I shall get to protect the balance." Cecil bowed his head with a great effigy, before noticing something. Suddenly his body went numb with tingling sparks. His eyes played around till they fell upon the place Digi had just entered. Inside that house he felt her. Slowly he moved to his feet, his eyes wide with anticipation. Uncaring about how rude he was, Cecil brushed opened the door, silently staring with amazement at the little one. She feels like mother...
Echo sighed softly when she was pulled into Digi's lap, and wiggled a bit. "Oh dear you don't and I hope you never do. But then again everyone's pain is different, and in the end it always hurts just the same." She said, and hearing someone else enter she looked up.

Her gold eyes fell on Cecil, and she smiled, a childish grin spreading across the girls face. "Cecil!" She squealed, wiggling off Digi's lap, standing and running towards him. She stumbled slightly as he neared, but threw her arms around his legs so that she wouldn't fall. "Your so tall now!" She exclaimed, looking up at him.

She shook her head, smiling slightly as she watched Echo hug Cecil's legs. She stood, walking to one of the windows and staring outside. "I know all to well mom..."

Cecil watched with intent as the girl shouted his name and binded to his leg. Then his ears perked to hear his sister speak the words. Mom. His eyes were filled with confusion. Everything was different. This was his....mother. Cecil didn't move for a moment taking everything in in silence. After this pause, he gave his mother an assuring nod, then knelt down. Tears welled in his eyes as he looked into a mirror of his own eyes in his mother's. "You....I....Mom...." He coughed out these words as tears began to stream down his cheeks.

"I am so sorry...." He managed to say.
She giggled, and wrapped her small arms around him. "Sorry for what? Your just as dramatic as Kiro!" She leaned back, her gold eyes taking a good look at him. "I am sorry, I was reborn, but had to start out at a young age. Your grandma tried, Elonia has been taking care of me as well as Kuro." Wiggling out of his embrace, she practically skipped towards where she and Digi sat, then plopped down again. "Sit with us. Hopefully everyone arrives soon, I don't know why Kiro is intent on staying at Steele though. Plans are being set into motion."

Echo smiled, and went back to eating her soup.
