The fae lady whistled and a young white buck bounded out of the forest. She suddenly found her mouth watering. But she swallowed quickly and turned to the lady, who swung her up onto the creature's back using her clasped hand. She was stronger than she looked to be able to lift Elarinya, her full pack, and heavy boots. A trait she obviously shared with the deer, because with it's spindly legs it didn't look strong enough to even carry a child.
The lady explained that the buck was her friend.
Definitely not for eating then, Elarinya thought wryly. The lady also said that the buck would take her somewhere. She opened her mouth to ask where, when the buck started to run. Elarinya held on for dear life but tried to be gentle as the lady had asked, but it was difficult; the buck's gait was so different to a horse's, which she was used to.
It didn't take long for them to arrive at their destination. She nearly fell off the deer as it slid to a halt but managed to keep her seat. The lady helped her off the deer and Elarinya took note of her surroundings. They were in a garden, as much as she could figure, different to an elvish garden but lovely all the same. Elarinya could see herself relaxing in this spot. The lady introduced herself as Ealpha and explained that there was a castle where could find everything she needed. She thanked Ealpha and took the path to the castle.
Elarinya soon found what looked to be the place; large tower, battlements, quaint little tavern. She opened the door to the tower. A long corridor with lots of doors at spaced intervals greeted her, like in a human inn, so guessed this must be where all the guest rooms were. She wandered along the hallway a bit and stopped at the room marked with the number 7. She opened the door and smiled. After weeks of camping rough, there was a
bed. She threw her pack in a corner, kicked off her boots and crawled into the bed without taking her clothes off.
