Shar simply shook her head in answer to the boy's question as Kaleb took the blame with his dress shoes. She pulled back the skirt of the sky blue gown that so well matched her eyes just enough to show him her toes. "I'm afraid my companion tells the truth of it, young man." She pulled her bare foot back under her skirt as she too spotted Allassandra down the path. "He also tells the truth of this lovely places dangers. The only reason I've even come out here is because I've got him here to protect me." How strange that sentence felt coming out of her mouth. She'd never had someone so readily touch her, so readily protect her without a second thought the way that Kaleb did.
Allassandra came down the path at a lazy pace, giving Kaleb and Shar a smile between them before looking to the boy. "I'm terribly sorry for the interruptions, Moth- Shar, Kaleb. I had just been about to explain to our young guest what lay in wait out here, and what my home is and does. Surely, Shar, you can remember what it was like to?"
Shar nodded, putting on her confessor's face, that blank, emotionless expression washing over her features like she'd done it thousands of times. She knew Allassandra was attempting to coax the boy into realizing the importance of certain things, and that the almost accidental naming of Shar's title had been in fact deliberate. "Yes, of course, Allassandra, I remember quite well. It is forgiven." Shar still never smiled, and Allassandra would never make eye contact with the young woman. "Thank you, Mot- Shar."She looked down at the boy, "Please, come back inside and let me explain this place to you before you go wandering off?"
