As Talon unsheathed his katana and set about disrobing his various layers, Terranova easily slipped from the dark, tight matte leather that served it’s purpose well enough when she didn’t wish to be seen. Each zippered article was thrown uncaringly onto the chair in the corner until she was able to slip beneath the sheets of her bed in one of Talon’s old t-shirts; it hung loosely about her smaller frame and she had worn it soft over the years, making it the perfect sleeping article. “You should just go fire proof then, saves plenty of money. Trust me.” She chuckled and winked light heartedly, reminding him of the several wardrobes he’d had to help her replace when the nightmares she’d used to frequently get had her waking in balls of flame.

When Talon finally joined her she slid right up along his side and lowered her head to his chest, nestling down until the strong, steady sound of his heart beat seemed to fill her entire mind and the scent of his skin wrapped her in a comfortable, familiar blanket. “Talon?” She murmured after a moment, already feeling the thralls of sleepiness. I love you.

For the first time in nearly a year, Talon was laying in a bed....and relaxing, he realized, for the first time as well. Talon had never considered himself dependent on anyone, but the thought struck the man that maybe he was when it came to Nova.

....no, not just that. He wanted to be. Such a concept was completely alien to the warrior. Yes, he had loved before. Too much, he honestly believed. But he had never, in his very long life, simply wanted to be in someone's company so strongly.

"I love you too, Nova," Talon said as he played with her warm, fiery curls as she rested upon his chest. Within minutes, he was sleeping, and then dreaming....peacefully, at long last.

The smiling figure of a girl, standing on the nearest rooftop and watching the couple through their room's window, decided to let Talon's nightmares cease for at least one night. After all, she had an eternity to bring them down into the half-demon's dreams.

For the first time in a year, Terranova slept soundlessly. Her dreams were calm and peaceful, filled with the alluring musk of her lover and the bright sunshine of the summer days that she adored so much, and for once they didn’t turn dark. There was no pain, no fear, no indecision or aggravation, only a calm meadow filled with the lingering scents of lavender and sulfur.

However, her pleasant dreams didn’t stop her from immediately panicking when she woke and there was a warm body lying next to her in the bed she’d been sleeping in for a week. Within seconds of opening her eyes for the first time Terranova had straddled her lover’s hips and placed the sharp silver edge of her rune engraved dagger right up to his throat, the warm metal digging in enough to leave a faint indentation but not enough to break the skin. Her other hand was poised up and back so that it was level with the top of her messy head, a bright fireball hovering just above her palm. Wide, flared eyes stared down for a long moment before recognition finally hit and the knife was finally removed, and her fist closed around the flame in her hand, extinguishing it with a small plume of smoke.

Talon…” She breathed incredulously, honestly surprised that he was still there.

Talon woke with a start, for he had been deeply sleeping for the first time in a year, when Nova straddled him and pressed a blade to his neck. His azure eyes snapped open, and then glazed over as memories of this past year hit him hard.

He was not in bed anymore, but lying flat on a bed of burning coals, deep within the abyss of Hell. Part of his time here had been in captivity of a powerful demon lord, who enjoyed using psychological torture on the half-demon in varied attempts to break him. Nova was not atop Talon, but a horrid harpy-like Succubus wearing what appeared to be remnants of his love's skin....

"Not again, temptress!!" Talon yelled, his hands snapping up and grabbing Nova's wrists, rougher than he'd ever grabbed her before. After a few seconds, Talon's breathing calmed and the reality of his true surroundings set in.

"I...." the young man stammered, showing a very rare moment of weakness on his face as he released Nova's wrists. "I thought...."

In all honesty, Terranova was glad she wasn’t the only one freaking out.

Talon’s large hands encased her wrists as he shouted out about an temptress and for a long moment she was just as startled as he seemed to be when whatever memory that had held him released him. Her hands fell from their upraised positions as he released her and she only vaguely noted the faint red marks left from his fingers as she slid her palms along his bare chest and up to his neck. “Hey, hey now. It’s fine.” She murmured softly, lowering her head and gently capturing his lips in what she hoped to be a comforting kiss.

She was acutely aware of his body beneath hers, separated only by thin cotton, and did her best to ignore it in favor of gently soothing away his memory with the gentle kiss of her lips across his jaw. “No harm done.” She wanted to ask about the pain and horror that she’d seen in his eyes, but at the same time she wanted to simply soothe it away and forget about it as well.

"I was simply surprised," Talon offered, which wasn't entirely dishonest. After a kiss and a few moments to calm down, the silver-haired man finally smiled again. "Not the best first morning together again, but I suspect we shall have many more non-violent mornings."

Sitting up slightly to press his lips to Nova's, the events of the morning were almost entirely lost in Talon's mind. He was here, he was safe....he couldn't feel safer with anyone else in the world, he realized. While Talon had had to protect and guard other lovers, Nova needed no such treatment....no, for the first time in his life Talon had a true partner beside him.

Well, on top of him, anyways.

I’m going to call it a victory considering neither of us wound up strangled, charred, decapitated, or gutted.” Terranova responded with a laugh as she leaned down to meet his kiss, her palms once more canvassing his chest, tracing the contours of his muscles and humming softly in appreciation. A long moment later and she was forcing herself to lean back and to shift her hands from his chest to her thighs where they rested idly, her fingers tapping against the bare, hot flesh.

Coffee?” She offered, distracting both of them with a smile, though it was probably for naught. A year apart and a night spent in the quiet was far enough for Nova, who felt the desire for him all the way into the core of her fire and it fueled it into a steady blaze like only Talon had ever been able to.

Jynx had been… Around, for lack of a better term.

Though for the most part she remained in the shadows she always came out of hiding when night fell and it came time to snuggle down into bed with Park, her long term boyfriend and the provider of all of her whims. When she wasn’t hiding in dark holes and merely observing the happenings of the Black Hound, she was attending a ballet class deep in the higher district of the city, honing a skill she never would have thought she had.

When morning peaked up into the Black Hound once more and slats of sunshine pierced through the blinds of the room she shared with Park, Jynx grumbled beneath her breath and rolled over to burrow her pale face into her lover’s chest, loosely looping an arm around his waist and nuzzling deeper into his arms. “W’time is it?” she mumbled sleepily, shifting her head to look up at him with sleepy, half lidded yellow eyes.

Park hadn't expected things to end up as they did but he wasn't one to question a good thing. Especially when said good thing was a pretty blue haired spider lady. "Seven something." The co-owner of the Hound mumbled as he squinted his eyes and turned less the sun goad him into actually waking up. "Wait I need to open by nine." The man blinked and found himself squirming out of his lover's snuggle grip so he could stumble out of bed and find the bathroom.

"Nooo, don't goooo, we can afford some extra snuggle time." Jynx playfully whined, though her arm fell free and she rolled onto her bare stomach, cushioning her cheek on her arm as she watched her sleepy lover stumble off in search of the bathroom. The sun illuminated the near full-back oriental tiger design that masterfully colored her pale skin, and the muscular form of the best shifted as she did, near giving off the impression of roiling muscles and power. "Oh fine, leave then." She told him, her tone still light and airy as she finally slid from the bed and stretched her fingers towards the ceiling before following Park into the bathroom, and turning the show on. "What are your plans today?"

"Nothing much. I am expecting a shipment around noon." The man said as the lovely woman hopped into the shower. "Same deal as before. You hide somewhere safe and make sure no one else is around when the delivery boys drop off the cargo." Being around Park meant getting used to him being an a*****e, loving boyfriend and black market arms dealer wrapped up in a seemingly always angry Korean. "Do you want tea or coffee Jynx?" Park asked after finishing the daily morning routine and opening the shower curtain to illicit a response. Quite the charmer this man was. "I'll be making pancakes." Park stated before leaning in to give a smooch to the spider woman and thrusting the curtain back into place.

Jynx rolled her eyes from behind the cover of the shower curtain as the final threads of shampoo were washed free from her lovely, cerulean hair that she kept trimmed and neat, right up to her collarbone. "Yeah, yeah I remember." She muttered as she smoothed conditioner into her hair, finished washing her body, and stepped under the hot spray of water. She glanced over her shoulder when Park drew back the curtain and smiled at his question. "Whatever you're having is fine." She told him, leaning forward to meet his kiss after he spoke and then laughing softly when he pulled the curtain closed and headed off to make breakfast.

She took her time finishing up in the shower before finally dressing into a pair of white sweatpants and a pale yellow tank top. She padded down the stairs to find him, her pair feet light and silent on the floor.

"Yeah, I can make that!"

Long and pale arms extended high above her head before they crossed over one another, lowering over the blonde’s eyes in an estrange entanglement. Slyly, she turned her head and peeked to the right. She was alone again, within her bed. There was no V nor Tempy. A low groan escaped her parting lips as she moved to sit up, the sun warmly welcoming her to the realm of those already awake. “Another day in paradise.” She spoke, half-way sung, as she tossed the blanket from her bare legs. Juliet was a free spirit and one that preferred to sleep in a simple pair of panties and a white tank top. Sometimes, she would steal Tempy’s tank top when she really wanted to get under his skin. Speaking of, where was that mutt?

Another day brought, surely, another dollar but it always left questions in her mind. Would she see her beautiful girlfriend, V? Would her long lost brother-dog, Tempy, show his bone-eating face? Only time would tell. The blonde vanished behind the drawn shower curtain and showered in the welcoming warmth the water had to offer. The shower wouldn’t last long, leading her to step out and begin the morning rituals. Blow-drying and then curling her short and perfect blonde strands. She always preferred that smokey eye look so the color pallet was, normally, the same. Some dark tones at the corners, eye liner on top and bottom, and a perfect blend here, adding the softer and brighter colors on the inside eye lids. A few coats of mascara. Perfection! Her attire would be just as perfect. Something vibrant today, perhaps? Juliet was feeling the same red she used along her plump and precious lips; red. Digging through her side of the closet, Juliet picked out a form fitting red dress. Mid-thigh, sleeveless, and the lightest of materials that were perfect to tend bar in, for this day’s wear. Her heels, naturally, would have the same red in them. However, they would be the underneath color to a pair of stunning, and shiny, black heels.

Many could never understand why she would prefer to wear heels. For Juliet, it was just a way of make her concentrate, for her to better see and understand her surrounding environment. For Tempy, it was a cheap joke to her height but, with her heels on, she was so damn close to his own tall stature. No sooner did the stairs welcome her light clicks as she descended them, moving towards her spot behind the bar. Everyone grew up, believing they would be something but, for Juliet, she just wanted to be happy. Bartending, being here and actually having something comparable to a home, had made her just that. The fact that she met V, and that Tempy shows from time to time, one put icing on her cake.

Once behind the bar, Juliet glancing over the bottles displayed behind her and immediately took a mental inventory of what was missing, what needed to be filled, and facing each bottle in particular. The bouncing blonde then moved to polish glasses, wipe down counters, and, finally, took a step back and searched for something else to do. She knew the rundown of the place. Sometimes people came in for a drink, sometimes it was for other things, those people were directed to Park, or Boss-man as she called him, and sometimes no one came in at all. Still, she brewed a fresh pot of coffee, made a single cup for herself, and waited with the occasional sip.

"Oh coffee." The scruffy looking werewolf made his way down the flight of stairs and straight to the nearest tall glass cup meant for tea which he promptly filled up with the fresh pot of coffee the blonde had made. It only took seconds for him to fill his glass to the brim and then chug down half of it without much thought. Before Juliet had a chance to object the lycanthrope poured the remainder for himself and walked over to an empty table and chair.

Worn out boots were propped up as the man found a way to balance his drink on his chest less the still warm liquid stain his tight, white t-shirt and sky blue pair of old jeans he had on. Only then when he had finally settled his lazy butt down in a comfortable position did he say, "Good morning Jewels." The wolf gave a lopsided smile(for having half a Glasgow smile sort of tended to do that) before taking a sip of java and looking up at its maker.

"Yeah, I can make that!"

“Hmm?” Juliet reacted with an inquisitive sound as she peeled her dark brown eyes from staring into her own coffee mug. Slowly, she had watched the dark liquor of life vanish from her otherwise spotless and white cup. They all seemed to have their favorite cups. For her, it was just a simple white one. For Tempy, one that read, ‘Bad Wolf’. A Doctor Who reference and the term made her smile when she witnessed her brother sipping from it. Duo meanings always made her smile. Lowering her cup, she watched as Kelly, the other token werewolf, headed to the tea cups and collected one for his own morning rituals. Slowly, the playful blonde lowered her own cup, setting it along the counter, and crossed her arms over her chest as she witnessed such. “Those are meant for tea, ya know?” She chimed in. Even then her tone was light and playful. Making do with the comment, she even added a shake of her head as she witnessed him down a good half worth of the smaller container down before filling it again. Perhaps some people just needed more than coffee to wake them.

Juliet lifted her spotless white cup back to her red painted lips, taking another sip, before she lowered the glass; still spotless. Her lipstick was always of the higher variety which meant that smearing, or the color coming off and leaving trace evidence, would never happen. She would slowly finish up her last sip before turning to the pot of coffee she had just made to witness the man taking the last of it and pouring it inside his amazingly smaller cup. A light sigh escaped her lips as she moved to make another pot. Steps she knew all too well.

Juliet turned from the brewing coffee and leaned up against the back counter, still in her ‘professional’ attire for the day. “You’re lucky we don’t have customers.” She scolded lightly as she tried her best to narrow her eyes at Kelly. He wasn’t a bad person, nor wolf, in her eyes but she knew Tempy had his reservations about the man which always made Juliet step lightly. Well, as light as she could step. “Yeah, yeah…good morning to you too, wolfie.” She cooed lightly, her red painted lips perking up a smile as she glanced over at the pot of coffee, now half way done. She needed more.

“Wait a minute.” She announced, turning her attention back towards Kelly. “And just what in Sam’s hell are ya doing up so early?” She asked, recalling that she never had, before, seen Kelly up at this hour. Her deep and dark brown eyes were now turned completely towards him with that questioning look that many knew so well. It wasn’t just questioning but her eyes always seemed to probe past the flesh, past the other’s eyes, and straight into the soul.
