The Perfect Denial

Lorienna laughed a bit at Blizz, only because it was so strange that he would sound so nervous around her. She wasn't really one to be nervous around, and if anything, she was the one with the nerve problem. "Shawnie, and Blizz. Okay, I'll remember those names, I promise!" This last statement was said with a hint of excitement. It had been a while since she had any other friends besides Rev, and was happy to meet some other people.

"So, mind if I take a seat here?" she asked, pointing to an empty chair near them, tail swaying happily.

"No of course not." Shawnie said smiling at Lorienna.

Air smiled back, walking over to him and saying, "hello, may I get you something to drink? that is my job" Air asked looking at all the different people in the room

No I am fine my love *he wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her close and kissed her deeply*

Air pulled away a little looking down and said, "I don't want to come off as too mean but...I don't really know you and last night I was REALLY tired...but I think we should start as friends and then move on slowly..I'm not really used to the closeness...I'm sorry" Air began to walk away

*Bill felt crushed he didn't know what to do*I knew it was too good to be true...

Air turned around and sighed, "it isn't that, it will probably turn in to more then just friendship just at a slowler pace...do you get what I mean?" Air said looking down

Riv nodded her head at Shawnie. She began itching her neck where the scars were. "Damnitt..I can't scratch" she forced herself to stop.

The laughter weighed on Blizz, causing him to wince once or twice. It was odd, he thought...even around new people, he wasn't usually this nervous. He imagined it was the fact that Lorienna was like him, a fox demon, but he couldn't be sure. Not that it really matter either way, the fact remained that his nerves were completely on end, and it bothered him.

"Go ahead, make yourself comfortable...," He managed to squeak out, as much of a smile on his face as he could muster. He opened his bottle of Root Beer and took a swig, hoping it would calm his nerves.

Lorienna sat down, then she watched as Blizz took a drink of his Root Beer. A smile crept on to her face as she spoke, "Root Beer. Ah, one of the greatest drinks in the world, I'll tell you..." She sighed and leaned back on the chair. For some reason, she really was feeling a lot more social than usual today. If anything, she could thank Rev for that.

"Hey Shawnie, I'd hate to be a bother, but do you think I could get a root beer, please?" she asked. She figured Shawnie probably worked here, so it would be okay if she got her a drink. If not, at least she asked. Eyes still red and puffy from crying, she closed her eyes for a moment, just to let them relax, then she opened them and looked to Blizz again.

"So, how are you?"

He bit his lower lip, not quite knowing what to say. "Ohh, the usual...I'm nervous and it feels like my heart could burst out of my chest at any given moment." The words came out in a rush, taking advantage of a momentary lapse in inhibition. It was out in the open now...and honestly, that made him all the more nervous.

"I-I tend to get nervous around new people...," He added, deciding to just go with it for the time being. "Sorry if I come off that way..."

"Thanks." Lorienna nodded to Shawnie, then she opened the root beer and began to drink it. After Blizz had finished talking, she merely shook her head. "Now, now, we can't have your heart just bursting out of your chest, now can we? I'm afraid that'd be quite a mess to clean up, don't you think so?" It was a joke, and hopefully it would make him feel a bit less nervous around her.

His eyes became wide as he stared down at his chest, gently placing his left hand over where his heart was. As he looked back up at her, his ears lowered. "I-I'd never thought of that! Maybe I should go to a doctor and make sure it doesn't happen...I'd hate it if you guys had to help me clean a mess like that up..."

His ears raised and perked to one side, a curious look on his face. "Does that happen often? I mean, do you think I could be at risk?"

Both of Lorienna's ears perked up. Well, she han't expected that type of reaction. Sighing, she shook her head again. "No need to worry." She reached over, placing her hand on his hand, over his heart, "It doesn't seem like your heart is in bad condition at all, so I think you'll be perfectly fine, Blizz." For a moment, she left her hand there, just looking at him. That look on his face, the way his ears were oddly angled right now, it was cute. Peculiar, but cute. A slight blush crept on to her cheeks.

No, not now... she was mentally slapping herself for this.

Blizz could only smile, glad that he wasn't going to be gushing out his heart anytime soon. But now, or so it seemed, there was something wrong with Lorienna. Her cheeks had turned an ever so light shade of pink. It's that disease that everyone keeps getting around here! I hope Lorienna isn't coming down with it.

"Um...Lorienna, you're cheeks are turning an odd color," He said, concern etching his face. "Are you feeling okay?"

"They are?" Lorienna moved her hand from his and placed both hands on her cheek, feeling them. "I feel fine, really. I guess I'm a little... embarrassed..." that was really all she could say about the matter.
