Shawnie quickly fixed her gloves that she had on and just sat down at the bar table waiting for someone to show up there. She blew the bangs out of her eyes

Shawnie tapped her fingernails on the bar table. She kept running Rivers' idea over and over again in her head. She just hoped that it would work. She had to use the sword and she knew that. Vincent wanted to fight Adien and she knew that, but what if someone got hurt really bad and they could be condemned for the rest of their life bearing a scar for the rest of their life.

Fox had been sitting behind the bar for the last few hours, trying various combinations of alcohol in a vain attempt to cure his boredom. Luckily, when he came close to being drunk, he merely sped up his heart rate and burned the alcohol out of his system, ensuring that he could go on like this for hours.

But he could only take so much booze before it too lost its mystique. Heaving himself up with a little shake, Fox leaned against the bar, trying to find something to do.
