"Ah, yes." He said, shaking his head, silently reprimanding himself for not having thought of it earlier. He placed his hand to his head and planting his thumb on one temple and his pointer and middle on the other, pulled them slowly away from his face to reveal a pair of regal horns trailing after them.

He was a devil.

"I theorized that parts of my body possessed meta-magical properties. I took a few years of experimentation to realize how to harness it, but I ultimately came to the finding that it was my blood that, when applied to magical components to a spell, be it drenched on the hands or the implement, or bathed over a sacrifice before a ritual, created the violated effect."

He grinned at her once more, gauging her reaction to him. As a Dark Magic practitioner, it was unlikely that she had never met one of his kind. Indeed, many warlocks learn their elementary secrets from Fiends.

"Nowadays I only use my own blood in the most dire circumstances. As you may know, I have the natural ability to summon my lesser kin, and so can use their blood just as well."
The lich's eyes followed his hand. A look of comprehension came to them as the horns were revealed- and a look of one satisfied to have learned something new. Indeed, Eirwyn was no stranger to the denizens of The Other Plane.

"Of course," she murmured, settling deeper into her chair and tapping her lips thoughtfully. "It seems so simple when you explain it, yet no one has ever thought of it before. I commend you, Mister Du'Ver."
"Hah! Two years of research, remember! That's a noticeable span of time in a mortal life. But yes, it's the way with most things, so simple sounding once they've been discovered. I'm sure you'll experience the thrill of such a discovery and the amusement about how really elementary is was through your own research." He said airily, brushing off her compliment with a wave of his long fingered hand,

"Still, I know many things about dark magic. If you're ever in need, my new partner, I am at your service." He said, standing up, scooping up his wand, and bowing before her.

"Now, forgive me from intruding. You've been wonderfully hospitable, and I thank you for taking so kindly to my offer. I hope for us both to prosper from our arrangement."
Eirwyn smiled. "In a mortal life span," she said. Even so, most wizards would have dedicated a lifetime to such research. And she certainly hoped so. What she had done in her lifetime was extraordinary only because few could achieve it- not because none had discovered it. She was more or less following in her master's footsteps- the lich who had taught her dark magic.

"Thank you, I'll keep that in mind," she said, dipping her head. "Leaving already, are you? Well, think nothing of it. I look forward to seeing you again, and meeting your subordinates. Good evening."
"Yes, sadly, I must go. I assure you, though, I will be back again!" He said, bowing a second time, before turning on his heel and strutting back out into the streets, a pleased smile on his lips as he did.
Eirwyn watched him leave, and when he was gone, her gaze lingered on the door he'd exited through. A smile slowly grew on her face, a smile that Walter took one look at and shuddered.
Leather boots of simple design treaded upon the door stop as Sharlen reached for the door, she enjoyed the setting about her and knew she would be further amused upon entry. Slipping in, she cast her eyes about, yes, eyes. It was a silly thing to do, but she had done it none the less. A Glamour spell to create the illusion of a left eye and the color of her eyes was a dark emerald green merely because it would match the dark green dress she wore with its black trimming. Across her shoulders was cast a black cloak, held at the throat with a black brooch.

Raven black tresses were pulled back simply with dark ribbons to plait her hair. A soft hum shifting across her lips as she enjoyed the old fashioned atmosphere and would move softly to find herself a seat. Upon sitting, she would turn her emerald eyes outwards to wait.
Vansin followed soon after.

Once again, there was no change upon entering. His black coat, red vest an tall boots were as appropriate then as they were in his own time, and there was nothing too technological about his cane, either. With long strides he walked over to Sharlen's table and sat across from her, a silent smile on his face as he crossed his legs regally and began to remove his black gloves.

He was perfectly similar to the shade she had encountered just the other night. If she had even caught a glimpse of him in the dark, she would notice identical features here. And when Vansin looked at her, his knowing eyes would grin with assurance that he had been privy to the entire...experience his shade had been present for.
Such a smug smile influenced her own, but upon the basis of her amusement she also felt that tug of danger. It would seem she was involving herself to much these days, what ever happened to her days of silence and solitude with only a grimoire to curve her appetites? She did not know of who he was explicitly, but his smile gave her the kind of chill most would connect with someone who had seen you exposed and vulnerable.

Oh yes, she had some inclination as to who she was seated with but she would not speak the name until confirmation.

"Enjoying the sights up close?"

Such double meanings, what was she addressing to be exact. She either knew who he was and making some observation that he now was before her in the flesh or she didn't know who he was, but implying that he was another headstrong male who engaged a woman outright. She would enjoy his reaction, she loved a play upon words and was a masochist for a wicked soul.
Eirwyn was present in her usual spot. This time a plate sat before her, the remains of a mercilessly dissected honey cake sitting on it. Leaning back in her seat, she licked her fingers, unabashedly watching the three men across from her play a card game. Her usual indifference towards the opening and closing of the Salty Talk's front door had been overridden now that she knew new life would be coming into the tavern, so her attention was diverted from the game when an unfamiliar woman entered. The lich studied her lightly. Then a familiar man came after her. Eirwyn smiled to herself, but didn't immediately approach. She absentmindedly scooted a cherry around her plate with her pinky.
"You're a bit too clothed for my tastes, Sharlen." He said flippantly, before turning his head to glance around the bar. Perhaps the warlock was in? Regardless, he wasn't here for her. He was here to discuss VS business. If she were around, though, he would be happy to distract himself with her afterwords...

"Now. You're here, I'm here. I hope there's something I can do for you." He said. He had sent the hook into the water with his shade. If she wanted to bite, he'd made himself plainly available. All she had to do was ask, or show interest.
"That can always be subject to change," the remark was said in passing with a shrug of her shoulders. Her fingers lifted to her throat to unfasten the brooch and allow her cloak to slip from her shoulders. Her gaze had already taken in the surroundings and she found them interesting, but further exploration would be set aside for another day.

Predator. Prey. Prey. Predator. Who hunted who she wondered as she set her hands upon her lap and stroked the fabric of her skirts down.

"There is something you can do," she started, "it would be false to say I'm not intrigued by your offer. Yet I wonder what is demanded of me."
"All I require is a loyal pair of eyes. You're staying in Seta's home, and I know Seta to be a conniving man. I am interested in what he's doing. That said, I would like you, Sharlen, to not only quietly observe his goings on, but to attempt to gain his trust and have the power to influence his decisions." He said, his smile fading slightly.

"I need a spy, in short, one I could trust." This was a lie. He did not trust Sharlen, he barely knew her. Nor did he expect her mission to afford him any sort of advantage over Seta. Why, then, was he asking this when he only stood to lose?

"And I've chosen to ask you first."
"I see," she replied with the stilling of her hand. Her fingers curling into the fabric of her skirt as she leaned back. Her chair creaked gently beneath the shift of her weight as her eyes closed in thought. Her association within Seta's establishment could be hazardous as it was since she knew the man had placed a hit upon her consort. She was surprised to gain entry right off the bat but perhaps it was Seta's way of luring out Leonardo.

"You would trust someone you do not know? My my, such risk." She shifted in her seat, draping one arm behind the back of her chair as her eyes opened softly. Her lashes downcast as she mused aloud as was habit, "a risk like that indeed would be seen as to much to ask to any other. It draws to question what can be gained from watching him, does he pose a threat to you or are you trying to stay a step ahead of whatever ploys he wishes to engage in?"
"I know you very well." He lied, "You are aligned with Leo, and Leo and I have a very amiable history. If you are loyal to him, you would know that betraying me would be akin to representing him betraying me. I cannot imagine your patron being very happy with such an outcome, and that would end poorly for you, I think." He said.

"Though I don't know, perhaps he is far more benevolent. I somehow doubt that, though. And so either you must deny me, as is your right, and we will part ways or you will agree to aid me and you will do just that. I see no other alternative that ends with you happy." He was almost surprised at how logical it sounded. It was a ploy, of course, but she would never know. It made perfect sense. On occasion, a lie was so true that by the time it was done being told, it became fact.

This was one of those times.

"As for why I am asking you this...well, call it preemptive curiosity. In the vague future Seta and I could foreseeably become enemies. We have similar tastes in some ways, despite how our methods have grown apart."
