((To clarify, everyone was standing about the front yard, and the manager just made her entry in, after Russel and Keldara just completed a complex magic ritual. ))

((Ah thank-you, I'll go back and edit my post ^_^))

((No problem 3nodding I'll soon be having Russel enter in with Sawyer, too, which should make for fine timing 3nodding ))

Otherworldly Garbage

❋ℜussel Ilun, the Dark Magician❋

User ImageTo be certain, the dark magician was vexed by Keldara's sudden reticence---afterall, she had lept on him in the first place, had put them in the awkward physical pose that might lead Sawyer to surmise something deviant about him!--but, well, he certainly couldn't deny the fact that the fiery-eyed and fiery-haired stranger would most certainly be a bit mortified herself. Afterall, at least Russel had the comfort of knowing the shrewd, snowy witch before them, whereas his colleague did not! And said proprietress could certainly be intimidating, in some respects. His amber-green gaze drifted between his two fellow-practitioners once more before he gave a definite response to the newer and more hesitant one clad in fine robe. Just as he was to open his mouth, however, a strange young woman came bursting in nonchalantly, at which his sandy-brown brow furrowed in confusion even further. "Er, hello there, uh, miss..." he hesitantly greeted her, before meeting the woman he knew not to be her mother.

Those same lips opened once more as he uttered a conclusive affirmation and explained in fine detail the nature of that peculiar vision: "Why, yes, Keldara, I got a rather vivid glimpse of the poor half-elf's prison quarters. She lay on what looked to be coffin hewn of stone, in a dark, rather dank cell--maybe the cell of a catacomb or crypt, it certainly had the likeness of one. When suddenly, an armoured dark elf joined her and he began to speak to her. At last, Meyrin showed him out, and at last, I got a glimpse of the name 'Darien Engrad' engraved on the stone.....let's see, that name is certainly vital information, in any case..."

Sawyer soon joined in, her tone as cool, confident--those who knew her less might call that tone cocky, but the fellow-Briton knew it well enough to be her typical wise self-assurance, one earned in the face of many hardships and globe-sweeping travels--, and ever-contemplative tone....yes, indeed, she always seemed to be gathering data and spinning preternatural hypotheses and solutions....In spite of that same contemplative calm, however, the fine-featured, leathered manager seemed to be impassioned by the mention of this half-elf maiden for whom he was searching. 'What?!....What did I say?' he wondered to himself, as his palms instinctively poised themselves at the centre of his torso, as if in preparation for a counter-attack. Realising this, though, he placed himself in a less-defensive posture and cleared his throat. "Yes, well, I must have arrived after she was gone...I don't know anything, was simply approached by Keldara the other day for information on Meyrin!......why, is there something we're missing here?"

But then, the cooler, darker-featured sorceress seemed to collect herself and address the other sorceress of such a blush that matched her red, wavy locks. Soon, Sawyer le Fay Fairfax was leading the now three into the hitherto-silent bar and inne. The Briton followed pliantly, wanting to learn more pertinent information. Wait, had another woman stepped in, he began to wonder? He seemed to recall the reticent, coy glance of someone else--no, certainly not the familiar distance of Keldara or the shrewd planning of Sawyer, nor the cool innocence of the unknown younger woman, but that of someone else.... His own fiery, inward-drawn gaze scanned the instantaneously-dusted and refurbished common and dining rooms before he gave further attention to the visage of the stranger who had recently unveiled her foreign locks and bodice. At this new face, he nodded politely in greeting.

Charlotte met the gaze of the unknown person. She managed a half-smile, not sure of where she was, and of course not familiar with anyone in the room. She hated being in situations like this.Unsure of what situation happened before, she hoped for the best that she didn't come here at the wrong time. She stepped awkwardly out of the shadows, her face half concealed still by the dark. Her smile quivered, but not purposefully. She truly did want to come off nice, and of course wanted to meet new people. She just didn't know how, never fully become acquainted with anyone before. Her gaze still met with the man, she nodded back. "H-hello."she stammered.

Keldara Tiale Iss'nir

"Oh, you found it. Took you long enough," she teased. Actually, she hadn't expected Redwing until at least tomorrow, so this was a pleasant surprise. "This is Redwing, my daughter." Judging by appearances, Keldara was no where near old enough to be the teenage girl's daughter, with perhaps ten years between them at the most. "..and this is Russel and Sawyer." She introduced the two to Redwing, though she had only just met Sawyer herself. With a slight grin, she embraced her daughter and nodded. "I found a job. Pays three times as much as the last one." She answered, for Sawyer's question as much as Redwing's... letting her daughter know exactly how much she was expecting without giving the actual number away to those providing assistance.

Observing the ever curious Rikki-Tikki, she acknowledged Sawyer's shock. "So, it's safe to assume you know the half-elf we're searching for?" The witch's loss of composure made it clear Meyrin was definitely a very important person to her. Keldara wasn't opposed to enlisting more aid free of charge, and this woman wouldn't need much convincing.

With effort not to trip over the witch's familiar, she made her way towards the building as Russel explained his vision. "So, dark elves in a crypt... That certainly sounds comforting." At least the girl was still alive, and being kept alive for some reason. "So we just need to figure out where this 'Darien Engrad' is buried and we've found her?"

Entering the inn once more, she noticed the new face that had slipped inside at some point. A small smile was offered for the girl, but nothing more. She seemed incredibly shy, and Keldara had no intentions of approaching and forcing her out of her comfort zone as she became acquainted with her surroundings. As for the strange creature that inhabited the inn, the sorceress kept her distance, unsure as to whether to fear the beast, or pity him.

With the mention of tea from Sawyer, she looked to Redwing once more. "You hungry, Red? They've got some pretty good food here." Without waiting for an answer, as she knew her daughter well enough to guess what it was going to be, she led her over towards the bar.

Redwing gave Keldara a look when she basically said it took her too long to find the place. She put her hand on her hips and shook her head. "I got here in plenty of time, Mom! But its good to see that you missed me." Her expression softened up and she returned her mother's hug. It was good to see her again although they had been only seperated for a short time. It had been too long for the girl to be completely honest. But she was with her Mother again and that's all that mattered. She turned and looked at Russel and Sawyer, giving the two of them curious expression.

"Nice to meet you both," she said to the both of them, and then nodded a greeting towards the other woman. Russel, she thought, running the name over and over again in her mind. Russel, Russel, Russel that is a funny name. It brought a cheerful expression to her face, and she grinned at the man.

"But that is great about the job! The last one was a while ago wasn't it?"

She honestly couldn't remember the last job Keldara had done. She knew it hadn't been that big and she could remember they hadn't been paid much. As it was, Redwing had done a few odd jobs around the town were the job had been in and made most of the missing money up. She couldn't help to listen to what information about the job they were giving out, slipping her hands into her pant pockets as she did. So there was some woman in a crypt with Dark Elves? She hadn't actually talked to many elves, but she had picked plenty of their pockets.

Redwing wondered who this woman was as they entered the inn, looking around the common room with bright red eyes. It was so unlike anything in Sigil, so much more... natural looking. It reminded her a little of Carson Town and the Lilith's Bosom Inn she had stayed at. She turned back to Keldara when she mentioned food and before she could answer her stomach growled. Redwing grinned sheepishly at her. "Yes, I would like something to eat." She followed after her mother, taking her hands out of her pockets as she did.

(( ugh, this post could have been better m--- __ ---'''m sorry~! sweatdrop
Oh and house sprites, for those who are new, are NPCs that tend to the needs that are in the inn, like getting room keys and water, and drinks ect ect. ))

Rikki-Tikki twitched and zipped constantly in front of the creature. Not out of fear, oh no, the ermine mongoose mix's body was far too filled with curiosity to have any room for something like fear. Its chest rising and falling at such a great pace in rhythm to its quick breathing. Rikki-Tikki twitched its whiskers at the creature when it gave Rikki-Tikki the awkward pat. Licking its paw before dashing away.

Meanwhile Sawyer raised her brow as Keldara greeted her...daughter? A thin smile stretched as she gave a cordial nod in greeting, "Welcome.". It certainly led Sawyer to look at Keldara under a different eye. Sawyer has never been known for her maternal sensitivity. There are higher chances of palm trees growing in the alps than for Sawyer to look kindly on motherhood or rather the idea of motherhood. As well as babies altogether. On the other hand, watching as mother and daughter both went to help themselves to the bar, Sawyer couldn't help but feel slightly pleased that the inn was looking slightly lively to say the least. Though as the two passed by, something interesting struck Sawyer about this Redwing. Something veeeerrrryyyy interesting. In fact for a short while Redwing would find herself being stared at intensely by Sawyer. As if trying to pry something out of Red. "You're...." Sawyer's pupils shrunk, it looked as though Sawyer realized something, before returning to the normal adjustment of the light, "..both welcome to whatever you find." she finished.

In fact even the livliness was bringing out the house sprites to slowly come sprouting out from their hide-y holes. From behind bottles, and through little holes and cracks, some out of a human skull with a melted -and slightly broken- candlestick on its top. "Good. So you finally decide to poke out, and grace us with your presence." said Sawyer. Her tone seemed a little more towards someone else then towards the house sprites. "Tend to what is needed." she ordered with a frown. Her mind heavy with the details both Russel and Keldara mentioned towards Meyrin. It left her face looking frightful. Frightful with worry and questions more like it.

To Sawyer this was her top priority now, not playing manager. Rubbing her forehead Sawyer wondered allowed repeating that mentioned name, "Darien Engrad, Darien Engrad, Darien Engrad...just where have I heard that before..." the name seemed to have a slight power to it too. It tingled in her tongue and pulled at her hippocampus, as if trying to remember some long lost something. It made her head light, as though it was contacting some dark part of herself that she tried so desperately to deny. A side that called out to Sawyer, but with a different name.
"This calls for sugar." said Sawyer more to herself than to the others. Before leaving them to get all buddy buddy with one another, Sawyer glanced down at the creature, to whom Rikki-Tikki was trying to bring a dead rat to, and said, "Hungry?" with her hand on the door to the kitchen ready to head inside.

A young man and woman approached the inn, crossing the country side on foot at a relaxing pace. They had no idea of the reunion going on back at the inn or the new faces that had recently joined the dysfunctional family. They spent a lot of time gone ever since Marianna left with Alexis, (Due to her inactivity.) The male known as, Bryan, had short dark hair and was dressed comfortable. He wore loose fit dark jeans and a thin white button up, simple black tennis shoes covered his feet. The girl, Isabella, was dressed a little more fashionable in her usual southern belle attire, though most probably wouldn't see it the same way. She wore a white sundress, thick enough not to be revealing but thin enough to enjoy the warm air, with matching white cowgirl boots and hat. Her long blonde hair blew lightly with the breeze. Needless to say they looked nothing alike.

Once they got closer to the Inn Bryan stopped for a moment. "Seems the Inn has new patrons, and a decent bit at that." He shrugged and followed after Izzy who neither noticed or cared. She just pushed open the door and walked in with Bryan shortly behind. "Hey Russel, been a while." She said looking around at the others she didn't know and smiled. "New faces... Always a pleasure to see new people here. The names Isabella." Bryan just looked around and gave a slight nod before taking a seat at the bar, letting Izzy be the friendly one.

User ImageAnd now, Russel looked all the more baffled. Keldara had a daughter?! Certainly, the fair-haired Briton mused, she looked far too young to be of maternal age! But then, he reminded himself that the red-haired newcomer was a sorceress. Gods only knew how many years that cool, youthful seeming visage hid! In any case, the dark magician smiled tactfully in return at the youngest woman of the motley crew, the bystanding brunette. As each lady stepped forward, the gentleman followed complicitly, eager for tea and important details that may better lead to this client's reappearance. Then, however, the sight of another woman caught his immediate attention, bringing a further brow-bristle and blush of pleasant surprise--rather, more than surprise. By Jove, Sawyer and Izzy returning in one day! 'How long as has it been, man, since you've seen those two?....between their return and Keldara's arrival, this is certainly bizarre timing...' he mused silently to himself. The pleasantness of his reaction soon became apparent, though, as he returned with a dimpled curve of his own lips. "Hi, again, Izzy, and her friend," he greeted the fair brunette Southern belle and her companion--for whom he was neither bothered nor excited, but treated with distant amiability--"it's been a hell of a while! How fares it?" Then another question rustled in Russel's mind: why did there have to be this many attractive women in the room? But then, tightly-bound and chivalrous as he was, he set any perturbance therein aside as best he could and focused on the matter at hand--a friend's return and a client's rescue.

Isabella walked right up to him and wrapped her arms around him. It had been a long time and she was happy to see her favorite British rocker. "It's been too long." She said letting him go and stepping back, a light blush appearing from how she reacted but she missed him. "It's going well. Had to take a job, I was getting stiff sitting around here all the time." She looked around the room and noticed all the women. "Making new friends..? Are you trying to replace me?" She joked, her southern belle accent thick. No matter how far or long she stayed from home she never would lose it. "What about you? Been keeping busy?"

Bryan had heard his greeting and just kinda laughed. They had never really met and he couldn't help but enjoy listening. Wondering what Sawyer would have to say to this little reunion.

The creature peered out from under his table at all the strangers, many of whom radiated with magical energies. He didn't like it. It was like a mine field out there he pined to himself. His awkward fur and feather tail flip flopped about anxiously as his ears twitched constantly, trying to keep track of all the voices. He was so intent on his wary scanning of the room that he didn't notice Rikki-Tikki returning until he was very nearly there. A little startled and perplexed, he drew himself up a little, bringing his head back to look down at the critter sitting so close and so boldly right in front of him. Thoroughly distracted, his anxiety gave way to curiosity. Tilting his head a little, he considered the strange wiggly creature before him, and, upon seeing the rat, immediately dispelled any doubts he might have had concerning it. Rikki-Tikki was now officially befriended of the creature, who gladly accepted the offering though he wasn't particularly fond of rats. Tearing it in two with no regard for mess, he swallowed one half whole and nosed the other towards his new friend, in case he wanted a bite while the creature was busy cleaning up the mess he made. Should the mongoose refuse, he would quite happily snap the second part up as well. Distraction now properly devoured however, his attention quickly returned to the customers. The two-leggers.

There were two voices that he was familiar enough with to recognize but, for now at least, there was only one to which he was particularly attuned. Glancing at her repeatedly, he did not miss Sawyer's implied invitation, he did, however, hesitate to respond. In the past he had never responded to anything but the simplest of commands, in part simply because he didn't yet know the language well, in part because of conditioning, and in large part because he'd been trying very hard to seem as much like a simple, stupid animal as he could. It had seemed safer that way. He was no longer entirely convinced that was the best course of action though. After a rather lengthy deliberation, during which he was surprised Sawyer did not simply move on, he put his head down and slipped quickly in her direction. At the risk of doing something to get himself into trouble and of revealing something of his true nature, he had considered her offer and accepted, but finding himself now standing before her, didn't know what to do. Except to keep out of arm's reach. Which he managed quite handily for the time being.

The sorceress ruffled her daugter's hair, grinning all the while. 'Mom.' No matter how many times Redwing called her that, it still seemed surreal. "Yeah. Once this one is finished with, we should have enough to at least put a down payment on a nice place. Any luck finding anything?" She would slip behind the counter, curious as to what Sawyer was thinking as she stared at Redwing. Did she sense something about her? Whatever it was, she was keeping it to herself though. Keldara turned away to scour the inn's foodstores for something to prepare.

Not much of a cook, the sorceress was inclined to skip over anything that required really any preparation at all. She settled on the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich, promising to herself to put more effort into dinner for her daughter. Distracted, she hadn't noticed two more entering the inn and was surprised to see how populated it had become. To think that when she had arrived the topic of how empty the place was had been on her tongue. She would wait to introduce herself until they were all done greeting eachother.

With a second sandwich for herself, she returned to Redwing's side to share the small meal. Despite the lull as the reunions commenced, Sawyer's expression and words concerning the half-elf she was supposed to rescue made it clear that finding the tomb currently took precedence over everything else. Time was likely not on their side.

Redwing laughed and attempted to fix her hair after her mother ruffled it, trying to fix her hair as she followed her to the bar. But she nodded at the house detail and brought out a small little list of adresses they could check out. "I made sure to look for smaller houses, one stories mostly though I found a small two story one." She put the list on the bar counter where she could see it when she got done fixing food and sat down on one of the bar stool.

When Redwing turned her head though to look at the others in the lobby, she saw Sawyer looking at her. At first she wondered what she was looking at but then she froze up. Her eyes, it was like she was looking through her. She must know what she was, a demon mutt. Redwing rubbed her hands together nervously and looked towards the ground. Anything to look away from Sawyer's piercing eyes.

People were starting to wonder into the Tavern, and she was glad to see that Sawyer was distracted. She looked at the people, including the strange creatures who she had never seen before. It didn't seem to interesting in her either but she put the creature away in her mind for future. Redwing would talk to him later.

When Keldara came back with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich she grinned and took her sandwich. She took a bite and looked back at the crowd.

(yay, more people to roleplay with.)

User ImageAt the sensation of his rather attractive friend's hug, Russel lightly circled his own painted arms round her delicate shoulders, and he too found his own cheeks reddening. Not to say that he was complaining, granted--the hug was certainly a surprise, but certainly a pleasant one, at that. And now, the dark magician would find himself chuckling sheepishly at Isabella's veiled question. "'Making new friends?' Well, between Keldara tackling me suggestively just as Sawyer arrives and this, I certainly seem it, don't I?" he mused to himself. Finally, his purt lips, which were curled slightly in an amiable smile, tried to draw out an explanation with surprising nonchalance: "He he, you could say that--or colleagues, I should say. Keldara, the red-haired sorceress over yonder, recently came in looking for a missing person.....between the convocations and spooky rituals, I figured I could be of some help," remarking with light self-deprecating humour on that last note. She was working, a good way to bide time, indeed for both parties. "If you don't mind, what work have you been doing?" he enquired politely, before turning his amber-green gaze towards the aforementioned redhead. Seeing that she was at relative ease with her rather-mature seeming daughter--who, it should be mentioned, looked not too much younger than the mother herself, a curiosity that would continue to vex him silently--he returned those eyes back to the earthy, tawn brown of those of Isabella.
