Lilith's Bosom Inn and Tavern is located in the North-Western forest area of Gaia, past a few mountains but along a main trade route including the surrounding cities and towns of Carson Town, Mariana, Lakefront and Carrington, all of which, including the tavern, surround Lake Naiades, a popular summer retreat.

Older than many know, older than many even remember, Lilith's was once a premiere sanctuary for those of the supernatural caste when persecution by humans was at its height. It's weathered the years with graceful dignity, passing from owner to owner, each chosen by the power the resides within its very walls, a mischievous, protective and often persnickety presence.

Years have passed and times have changed, it is somewhat of a sanctuary still. Rumors say everything is free, from room and board, to the food that is consumed. Don't feel right staying for free and want something to offer? Want to stick around? Other talents have been traded from the ability to cook, clean or even tend bar, so if you find yourself lacking in funds, do not worry.

Even if any of the living (or undead) staff is not behind the bar, the place is always open, the doors never locked. Glance behind the counter, and you'll see a suit of armor, large, dark and almost menacing lurking against the wall. His name is Rion...and like everything else, he isn't quite what he seems to be. Silent, but efficient, if no other staff is around, he will serve you what you need. [Rion is an NPC bartender, to be controlled yourself should no one else be around]

And if you are seeking information...you may find what you are looking for here.

In other words ~ Look at us as a training ground. We know that not everyone are wonderful roleplayers but we are willing to take the time to help you if you'd like, as long as the basic rules of the thread are followed. One liners are allowed once in a while, but we prefer at least three sentences to a post. No *action marks*. And try to improve yourself!

We are a casual roleplay, no profiles are needed. Are we planning on being a thread that will change the state of Gaia RP as we know it? Nope. Not at all. But we do hope to be a little niche of Gaia Commerce that some will find a home in. Plots may be done once in a while, and if you have an idea for one at all, feel free to toss out the idea and see who bites!

♦ Useful Links ♦ ...some need to knows

♦ Guidelines ♦ ...a.k.a need to read

------------------------♦ OoC Guidelines ♦------------------------

          1. Cardinal Rule
Those to be listened to: Miarr and those she leaves in charge in her absence.

          2. Role Playing Etiquette
This should be apparent, but no God-Modding or other such incorrect RP etiquette, included in this is no killing other people's characters unless it is agreed upon between both RP'ers.

          3. Regarding Quote Towers
Sometimes they are easier to organize a conversation, but please, no more than one quote in a post. Preferably none if you feel comfortable.

          4. T.O.S. and Limits
Try and keep language and gory descriptions to a minimum. Swearing is fine and even in some scenarios or characterizations, appropriate. Romance is allowed, but nothing too explicit. Follow Gaia's TOS and keep it PG-13.
4.5 If you need to imply that your character is doing something that cannot be posted, time skip, have them leave the room, whatever. Keep it simple and tasteful, no large images, etc.

          5. Location Tags
Location tags are to be placed at the top of IC posts whenever you are not in the main tavern area of Lilith's. This will encompass the surrounding towns/cities, as well when one is outside the tavern or when your character is in an area that is not the main tavern. It can be as simple as:

Location: Lilith's - Garden, or Location: Carson Town - Delham Temple.

If your character happens to be somewhere out in the woods, please try to use an approximate distance from the closest recognizable landmark on the area map.

          6. "Literacy"
We try to keep it somewhat literate, even if the posts aren't paragraphs long. Please no one liners, at least three to four sentences to a post. (See the explanation below) A shorter one once in a while is fine, but don't make that the standard. As the RP has been evolving, we would prefer that novel styled posts are used (" " and not * * ).

          7. Out of Character
Use (( )) or similar brackets for Out of Character speak.
7.5 Speaking of OOC, NO large OOC conversations are allowed. Short blurbs such as ((I need to go)), ((I'll be right back)), etc are acceptable, or short conversations when rp is slow, but otherwise bring all OOC conversation to the OOC Thread.

          8. Problems and Resolutions
If you have a problem with someone OOC, keep between yourself and that person. DO NOT bring it into the thread! In thread bickering over people or characters will NOT be permitted. If something just simply needs to be clarified, that's fine, but anything further needs to be handled over pm's. If there is an extreme problem, please bring it to either co-owner for moderation.

          No advertising in the thread.

The Three Sentence Guideline

This wasn't established to be mean, really. As said far above in the first post, Lilith's is sort of a training ground for those that are trying to practice writing longer posts in character or try to improve themselves, which means there are rules in place to help you advance yourselves. Now, I find the term 'literate' to be extremely subjective as far as roleplaying goes, as the dictionary definition is to be able to read, write and use language proficiently, something that can certainly be showcased in one or two sentences.

But everyone wants to improve, yes? Go above and beyond? So please, look at it as a small nudge to encourage and promote literacy and imagination. Three sentences really isn't that hard, is it?

------------------------♦ IC Guidelines ♦------------------------

          1. If you are a creature that does so, do not bite or turn another unless both parties agree to it.
          2. Fights are allowed, but please take them outside or to the arena.
          3. If for some reason one were to occur inside, whatever you break, you clean up.
          4. If Ailyra tells you to cut it out, cut it out. You don't want to cross her. She can be mean. Really. I swear.
          5. Respect the staff. Rudeness to them will not be tolerated.

02.18.2012: Grand re-opening. Please read up on all of the changes in the post and the next that are in play while the tavern is 'rebuilt'.

------------------------♦ IC ♦------------------------

03/01/2012 The tavern has been rebuilt and everything has been moved from the pole building, which is being torn down, to the main tavern. Rooms are available...as well as much better food and entertainment.

02/14/2012
♦ The Revival ♦ ...what has changed.

It has been a year since Lilith's collapsed, literally and figuratively. The bones of the once great building has weathered the seasons with a bit of wear and tear, but the beams that had lasted centuries with the spirit of Marit inside, had managed to survive one more year without the powerful spirit, even though they lay collapsed on the ground.

But when something resided somewhere for so long, it was always hard to leave.

So the spirit, now trapped in the necklace of the demon Ailyra Tarron, petitioned her friend and keeper to allow her to return to what would always be her home and begin to rebuild it to its former greatness. But the demon had become accustomed to her new life and at first denied Marit her wish, refusing to go back herself. But after a while, she was worn down and agreed to let the spirit return, along with a trusted member of the demon's business empire to act as her liason between the demon's former home and herself. Sere would watch over the spirit, help the tavern rebuild and act as caretaker and manager once it was finished, whether people returned or not.

Sere agreed at once, more accustomed to the relative isolation that the tavern would bring than the bustling cities and towns she had followed Ailyra around for the last year. And so the rebuilding began.

The towns had recovered from the supernatural assault the year before, slowly coming out of their shells and prospering once more. The humans no longer cowered under the fear of attack, but blossomed once the supernatural community had scattered from the area, back to the main areas of Gaia. Who knows how they will react when Lilith's returns...

------------------------♦ Damage Report ♦------------------------

      03.01.2012 (approximately)

Tavern: Tavern is rebuilt - finishing touches are going on so there may still be some chaos.

User Image User Image

Where is the tavern located? We'll start thinking big. Lilith's Bosom Inn & Tavern is located on the world/realm/whatever of Gaia Primus (sometimes referred to as Gaia Prime). Barton Town and the other Gaia canon cities near there are approximately 200 miles away, to the south-east of the area that Lilith's resides in. In the post after this one, the surrounding area is described.

The light is low with modern recessed lighting when the tavern is entered, revealing a large room with high wooden rafters and customers laughing among themselves. Vaguely lodge like, scattered around are various comfortable couches and lounging chairs interspersed with tables and chairs, enough to accommodate a larger party, yet comfortable for a few close friends to gather for the night. On the right, there is a large wooden bar, scarred from time with many bar stools lined in front. Behind that, liquor shelves layered with bottles holding anything a customer may want, even a few that may not have been heard of.

Also along the back wall is a large staircase leading to the guest rooms in the wings beyond. To the left of the staircase, is a door leading to the newly remodeled spa area. Actually, the whole tavern has recently been remodeled so everything is new, though the look is vaguely simple. To the right of the stairs, the storage room. If a patron would happen to be looking for a more peaceful or natural experience, to the far left of the entrance is a sliding door that leads to a large walled, both the wall and the garden currently under construction, with hidden paths and tables shaded with umbrellas. The garden is spelled and kept temperate in one area all year and tropical in another for whichever temperature one may desire. Even in the dead of winter snow never touches the ground within the garden walls.

Opposite from the bar and along the same wall as the garden entrance, across the way, there is a fireplace that often has a warming fire and conversations going about it, large bookcases lining both sides, crammed with latest releases, old tomes and well used paperbacks. Scattered about, there is all the entertainment you need in pool tables, karaoke, and dartboards.

If solitude is what is needed, the lake is but a bit away, through the forest. The path is well worn and is easy to find. Shopping, supplies or exploration? There are a few nearby towns and cities that have fallen under the jurisdiction of the owner. They feed the denizens hunger within reason, the tavern remains safe, though most of the sane people in the towns and cities within reach stay away - unless money is offered, of course.

------------------------♦ Rooms ♦------------------------

If you're looking for a room for the night (or for longer), Lilith's has plenty. A large staircase can be seen across from the entrance, leading up backwards and to the inn wings located behind the tavern. There are three floors of rooms in each wing. Some rooms have views and others have no windows what-so-ever for those that would prefer a perfectly sunless existence. If a room is needed, don't despair! It is as easy as inquiring from Rion (the suit of armor) at the bar, or whoever is on duty for a key that will lead you to the room and lock it fits in (quite a useful trick for those that have imbibed a bit too much, one doesn't have to remember their way!).

Once settled in, each room can be configured to your needs with a quick request to the presence that is the tavern. Layouts can be changed, style, or even slight size changes. Once you check out, it will return to the standard room configuration. To check out, just leave the key at the bar in the tavern and head out on your merry way.

♦ The Surrounding Area ♦

User Image

Carson Town (Approximately 25,000 residents)

The economic, social and political hub of the area of Gaia that Lilith's Bosom Inn and Tavern resides in. Smaller than many Gaian cities, it still boasts a population of over 25,000 residents, and any thing that one may need from stores, clubs, to basic debauchery. The city government is corrupted and though the it may look pretty, pristine and nice by daylight, it is best to be cautious at night in the seedier areas. The current high class crime boss is Michael Sterling. You won't find him in low class pubs in the West end of the city – but in high rises and expensive restaurants. For him, crime does pay. Take a stroll through the ever busy business district in the North End, and its towering skyscrapers, try to keep yourself from getting stabbed in the sleezy West Slope, settle down with your family in the South Town district or visit the arts district in East Arts.

          Attractions:

Delham Temple: A nondenominational temple catering to whoever and whatever it can pull in. Holds services for just about anything, but the main attraction are the statues spread throughout the complex, many of which probably break several public decency laws.

Mile High Gardens: Though not quite a mile high (more like ten stories), some aspiring architect decided to add both greenery and shade to the bustling city, though the residents could easily access both a large lake and forests not far outside the city. Well, he figured Carson Town had to have some kind of claim to fame, right? Towering high above busy roads and sidewalks, the five acre park boasts children play areas, pic-nicking spots and even a life guarded pool (heaven forbid should it ever get a leak!). Easily accessed by a skywalk system from nearby skyscrapers and elevators.

          Shopping:
North End: High class boutiques, prestigious department stores, stately restaurants, bars and clubs. Chain coffee shops.
West Slope: For a walk on the wild side, the West Slop pubs will give you pretty much any adventure you will ever need, if you can stay alive. In daylight, it is an area of run down apartment buildings and houses.
South Town: Chain supermarkets, chain big box stores, small family owned markets.
East Arts: The name should say it all. The 'trendy' area of Carson Town, the place to go for the new, the hip, the unusual or downright strange. If you're willing to search, you can find some great finds in the second hand or antique stores. Great cafes and coffee shops.

Village of Mariana: (Approximately 820 residents)

An industrial city, centering on the mining just south of the city, it's the transportation and manufacturing hub of the area. Many of the workers commute in from the surrounding areas to work twelve hour shifts getting product and supplies to the rest of area and in some cases, the rest of Gaia. There is not much for entertainment, unless you enjoy factory tours.

          Attractions:

Mariana Complex: Take in a large arena concert, sporting event or even a monster truck rally. One of the few arenas left in the area that hasn't been bought out and sponsored by a large corporation. But surely, even that is coming soon.

Shopping: Just the basics folks, food, clothing, etc. People in Mariana want to get in, get out and get on with their lives.

Lakefront: (Approximately 150 residents)

Posh resorts, fancy restaurants and shops even more expensive than Carson Town, Lakefront is a pristine (and sometimes downright bland) resort area on the lake that nearly quadruples in population during the summer. Traveling there you will find the rich and famous lounging either by the lake or by the pool, or having mimosas on the deck at lunchtime (or if they are feeling really risky, even with breakfast!). For a day away, they take trips to Carson Town to really cut a rug in the clubs.

          Attractions:

Tarron Resort: Yes, Tarron Resort, one of Miss Ailyra's investments, though she rarely spends any time there. Get a posh suite for a weekend or a week, get pampered in the lap of luxury with staff at your beck and call. Take sailing lessons on that end of the lake or learn how to scuba dive (in the summer, at least).

The Dryad Caves: Along the south side of the lake to the east of Lakefront, are several caves carved into the cliffs. No one knows how deep they go, or even what is hidden inside.

Shopping: Overpriced boutiques with designer clothing and health food stores.

Carrington: (Approximately 65 residents)

A sweet town of barely 65 year round residents, the population nearly triples in the tourist months. It is filled mostly with local craftsmen, fishermen and their families. Pick up a home made quilt or jams, or have a rather long winded conversation with a fisherman down at the docks on 'the biggest wave he's ever seen'.

          Attractions:

Carrington Apothecary: You can find things in the Carrington Apothecary that you can find no where else in the area for all of your magic, spell casting or healing needs. Though it's run by a creepy old lady, you'll find what you need and she won't overcharge you – too much.

The Statue In The Woods: A weird statue of unknown origins hidden back in the woods to the north-west of Carrington. It depicts a child holding a star above her head. Over the years, the residents say that the statue has moved – claiming the star had once been held at her waist.

Shopping: Crafts and unusual products galore – anything you may need that has a mother's, or grandmother's (or even grandfather's) magic touch. And fish. Lots of fish.
