I conjured a ball of fire in my hand to illuminate the darkness around me. Lizards snarled in pain as they tried to rise with their injuries. I clipped one next to me in the back of the head with my sword, and it passed out without a sound. There was the sound of leather sliding on cables above me, and troops started to funnel down out of the opening. They spread out around me and forced lizards to the ground with their rifles. Fan out, I ordered, Find their base of operations. I sheathed my sword and pulled out a pistol, and walked through the maze of caves carved into the ground.

Eve didn't hear anything, so she walked forward a bit more and called out once again. "Hello!? Anyone?!" She then closed her eyes so a bright light came from her as it lit the vast area from her, hopefully someone would see that from a while away.

A light flooded a side passage, and glared against the wall opposite. I squinted my eyes and walked through it, pistol held ready as I turned the corner. Raise your hands! I called. I saw a thin figure outlined in the light. I vaguely familiar figure...

[Kitteh-Mwarr-Mew]

Eve did what the voice said she raised her hands, dropping the sword as she did so and then opened her eyes, letting the light fade and go dark. Her hair then changed to white she looked to the floor waiting to see what would happen to her.

Eve? I breathed. But...how...what are you... I rushed over and wrapped my arms around her. Why are you here of all places? I asked taking a step back. I threw a card behind my back, and a field of blue sealed the entrance I had just come through.

[Kitteh-Mwarr-Mew]

Eve hugged Sen back and smiled lightly. "I don't know I woke up here, Why what's going on?" She asked as she looked beyond the blue screen that blocked the entrance.

You remember that city we discovered a while back? The one with the lizards and all? We're underneath it. Right now, we're barricaded in their central base, and my ship is going back to the inn for emergency repairs and medical staff. A muffled blast shook the cave slightly, and dust settled to the ground. Right now, we can''t teleport or anything, and those lizards aren't the ones from before.

Have you reread the first page yet? I wonder what he's planning to do.

Eve coughed as the dust started to fall. She looked around before picking her sword back up. "So how do we get out of here? And how tough are these other lizards then?" She asked a little nervous of what was ahead of them.

I'm not worried about us being able to get out, but everyone else... there's just too many. And those lizards, they must be elites or something. Better weapons, reflexes, armor, everything. Even with my power, they're hard to beat. Hopefully The Halberd will be back soon. I waved my hand and the field fell away. We're gonna have to beat them somehow, or else they'll just follow us. Any ideas?

Eve thought for a moment before an idea came up. "I could burn them with my powers or blind them as you finish them.." Eve got her sword ready. "If that doesn't work, well we have to chop our way through back to your ship.." She said with a small nod.

I nodded. We'll have to be the vanguard then. I tapped a code into my bracer and spoke through it to everyone in range. Prepare to evacuate. Help those who can't walk on their own. Mackoy, Jose, Alex, standby near the entrance. I turned it off and turned back to Eve. Alright, let's go.

"Lead the way.." Eve replied as she slowly put her sword down by her side as she started to look around her surroundings, seeing if any enemy was nearby..

I nodded and led her to the entrance of the building. Several armored men were firing through windows as troops carried stretchers and reloaded in preparation for leaving. Three heavily armed and armored men stood next to the door. They had painted their armor bright colors in order to distinguish themselves. You three are with me. They looked at me, then to Eve. "What about her?" One of them asked.

Eve even then agreed with the men. "Yeah Sen what about me, what am I going to do?" She asked placing one hand on her hip and then let out a deep sigh.

Hmm. We could use a distraction. Heck, even illumination in order to see them clearly would help. I thought a little longer, and saw a bullet ricochet off a sheet of metal that some guys were hiding behind. They instantly fired back, and snarls rose from outside the window. How about a shield?
