Vyhnanstvi was falling. Gaining speed. He had no idea how high up he was, but he could see from end to end of Barton Town so he knew it had to be very, very high. The wind around him started to whistle in is ears as he continued to fall. This was very, very bad. He wracked his brain for options... but he didn't know any kind of flying magic. The wind was starting to pick up quite a bit. It almost felt like it was wrapping around him... a moment's thought and it was wrapping around him. It wasn't just blowing on him from below as he fell but also somehow pressing on his back. He felt an energy around him, energy that was familiar. Perhaps the portal had regained hold of him?

There was a popping sound again as he winked out of existence. The air rushed back out from the spot it had been concentrating and with a flicker of pink light Van appeared again, only this time he was rising not falling. "What the...?" He flew upward, decelerating as soon as gravity had him again. Hello, Gravity. Can't you just leave me alone? His descent slowed to almost a standstill and then there it was again - falling. "What the hell."

Dax only fell for a few moments this time before that odd air pressure closed in on him again, again his whole world popped but this time he was suddenly much, much closer to the ground. Reflexively, he shunted as much energy as he could toward his extremities, trying desperately to force his way around, see if maybe he could fly. He could feel himself changing directions slightly as each blast of crimson energy ejected from his skin, but all it served to do at random was cause him to roll and tumble. Tumbling now he felt the pressure again and his world popped and he looked around, but could barely see the ground through the clouds. He was falling up this time again, and as soon as he began to slow he felt the pressure. His world popped for a final time and he returned to the prime plane about five feet above the roof of a building he was very familiar with.

Anyone in the Cafe would probably hear the shaking, rattling boom as he impacted the loose gravel of the walking area of the rooftop garden atop the Feather Quill. Bits of gravel flew away from the impact site, raining down on the outdoor seating area and the adjacent buildings, as well as peppering the hot tub. No actual structural damage, but he had made a bit of a dent in the loose gravel. He lifted his head to look around, bruised but not broken. The final bit may have been only five feet but it felt like he'd fallen about fifty... though the 'real' distance may be closer to five or fifty thousand.

"Ow."

              Magic.

Sohalia's head suddenly snapped up from the paperwork before her. She had let herself focus on it completely, drowning out the insanity that kept telling her she was hearing a crying baby and that it was in her. Until goosebumps formed on her arms and the scent of the ocean reached her lips, tongue, and nose over the smell of coffee. Uhm. Wait. The smell of the ocean?

"What in all the hells?" Papers strewn across the table, Sohalia pushed herself away and headed for the front. The electric feeling of an old magic zapped her skin and she could even see if effecting the decorations on the ceiling. Her eyes immediately landed on Tynan, in front of Rhett, surrounded by a sphere of dark water. With widened eyes, Sohalia ran forward.

"Tynan!" Instinctively, Sohalia put her hands out, palms toward Tynan and began to call her own magic to counter what she was feeling. It was overwhelming, and she wasn't sure if she was strong enough to contain it. In fact, she was positive that she was not strong enough to contain it. Not for very long. With fierce concentration, Sohalia pulled the magic toward her and the woman, sweat beginning to bead off her forward as she strained. It was powerful and too much for her.

"Rhett! Help me!!" Her voice was strained and frantic. What else was she to do? If the magic continued to build, it would destroy the entire building or worse. Her body began to tremble as she waited to see what Rhett could do. The combined force of magic, and the thump from above from something on the roof made her falter, but she tried her best to hold firm and was losing her grip as quick as she gained it.
Rhett could feel eyes on him as he fussed with his precious viola strings. Her furrowed his brows a moment, seeing the sweeping fabric of her skirt out of the corner of his eyes, determined not to look at her gorgeous face. Blasted woman just wouldn't leave him alone, teasing him and such. But oh, how he enjoyed that teasing in some sick, twisted way. His frustrated look slowly turned into a grin at that thought.

Until a wave of pressure washed over him and nearly caused him to choke on air, salted ocean air. What in all the worlds? He lifted his head to see Tynan, beautiful and graceful Tynan, surrounded by a ball of water. Rhett was so close to this magic it was making him a bit dizzy with power. He stood, pushing his chair back and nearly dropping his viola into the case to stare at her. She didn't seem to know what was going on. Hell, what was he going to do?! This power was immense, and where did it come from?!

The shock was smacked as soon as Sohalia ran into the room. She looked about as confused as he did but he could feel her power grow as she tried to contain the mess before them. He was not a fey, he did not possess this power. But he was a mage, and he could do something. Right? Maybe, he hoped anyway.

Sohalia yelled at him for help. He searched his mind then put his hands out in front of him, mirroring Sohalia. He used the power around him, nearly absorbed some of it as he use his own to pull in the magic that was going to destroy the building they were in. Rhett couldn't pull it back enough and the water was pulsing with magic. It was going to expand. Then he had an idea.

He stared hard at the water and took a deep breath, filling his lungs. With one large blow, he puffed out icy air and waved his hands in a dance the added more magic to the room. The water iced over, cracking in the heat that started to rush back into the room before exploding harmlessly into a flurry of snow. At the moment, snow was far less damaging than a flood of water. It floated harmless around them, coating everything with a fine layer of pure whiteness.

"Tynan...are you alright..?"

Tynan had not a clue what had happened as she fell to the floor. She had been swallowed by water! Now she was out of it but she still couldn't breathe! She moved her mouth, tried to take in air, but only water came out; her lungs were filled with water! She was still drowning even without the water to surround her! She bent forward and heaved, bringing up water and small droplets of what appeared to be blood. Tynan heaved a few more times, spilling the liquid from her lungs across the floor, until she was able to take in a sharp, painful breath.

Tynan shook, as she propped herself up. Her hair hung around her now, as dark as the depths that had taken her, completely undone in the upsurge. Her hair had never been completely unbound while she had been in the cafe; and for good reason. Tynan's hair was longer than she was tall and would make a small pile on the floor if she stood. Now it just covered her, clung to her with all it's sodden weight, and lay all over the floor.

She couldn't stand now, though, the shock wouldn't let her. Water dripped from her, but it slowly lessened; the water seemed to be seeping back into her, as if her skin where drinking the water. Her skin consumed the liquid, but her clothes remained water-logged, as if her body saw the water in the clothe as ruined, tainted somehow by the threads that held their burden. Nothing about her clothing had meant to be so ladden with weight and it ruined the line of the the outfit as it clung to her body and even gave away that she was armed. Bas Nihm had been difficult enough to hid in the bustle, but the hilt now glittered in a startling fashion at her hip, clear for all to see.

What... what was going on? Tynan's wide eyes sought out some kind of explanation, some source of what had saved her. There was snow falling in the cafe, now... what? Weren't they indoors? She fought the urge to wail and cry - to break down - Tynan felt the first buildings of hysteria tighten her throat as small sounds escaped her. Tynan's skin and the surrounding puddles she had caused were all nearly dry now, sucked back into her, with the exception of the tears that threatened fall from her eyes. Tynan looked to Sohalia until Rhett's voice called out to her, asking if she was alright.

She couldn't take it anymore as she turned angry, frightened and confused eyes towards the blonde man and wept fiercely, her hoarse voice crying out as her body wracked with sobs. She shouldn't be here! There was no one here that could have contained unbridled Sidhe magic! She blamed Rhett! The mysterious man was definitely more than what he lead on! He was a threat and she should kill him, Tynan thought.... but she couldn't stop the hysterics, not even long enough to tell anyone about Margaret and Ari just outside the door.

What was necessarily polite was to not let someone stand at a table before a blind mute woman with a hot plate of food. He had planned on going back for his drink to properly retrieve the answer to his question but Sohalia had work to do. Perhaps it had been something on her mind but she seemed distant to Heiden. Anyways, he didn't really wish to leave his company too long. There was plenty of time to learn things about others.

Everything had been going along fairly well. The food was great and the mental conversation between onyx and himself was also great until. Things shook and began to vibrate, someone was calling for help, there came a strong familiar scent. What the hell was going on here!? He wasn't too sure but he also wasn't willing to find out. Leaping to his feat he laid down more than enough cash for the food, grabbed Onyx, and let his form emulsify into a rolling black smoke. It would disipate and onyx and heiden would be gone.

Margaret nods at Ari and allows her to help. "Thank you, Ari," she says with a weak but genuine smile. "I didn't know if I'd even be able to make it the few feet to the Cafe.." She was doing her best to contain her emotions but she felt two involuntary winces brush across her dry, winter-stricken lips while Ari was bringing her to a standing position. After she was standing, the pain, luckily, subsided a bit. Perhaps it was because there was no longer any pressure on them.

Having been on the ground for what seemed like a long time, she began wondering if she was dreaming. Mostly due to her current condition but also because no one before Ari even gave her a first glance, much less a second. It almost felt as though she was invisible. The winter fog that had been lingering made it seem even more dream-like. Now, though, she figures that she was hard to spot among it. That, and she knows how business days are -- busy. Regardless, she had help now, and she was very thankful for it.

Worry then begins showing on her brow. "Oh no! Today is a business day -- I'm late for work!" Disappointment's face then begins showing on her own. She was never late. She loves the Cafe and she cares for her coworkers deeply. She almost feels as though she's letting them down by being late.

os"I'm sure Tynan and Rhett are already here, the rush hasn't started yet. Right now there are more important things at hand. Sohalia will understand." Ari took the brunt of Margaret's weight as she took tentative steps toward the door. She felt as though she lost her footing for a moment but held steady and reached for the doorknob. As the blond woman's hand made contact with the metal she let out a soft hiss of air of surprise and mild pain. The knob was cold! Freezing cold, much colder than would be caused by the chill out doors. "I think something is going on in the cafe." She murmured as she pulled her sleeve up over her hand and grabbed the handle again. It was still chilly even through the thick fabric. With a big breath to settle herself, Ari pushed the door open.

From the table nearby, Sohalia saw smoke out of the corner of her eye. It caused her to stop concentrating and look. Heiden and the woman had disappeared in the face of possible danger, leaving their food and drink untouched. Which also meant a loss in money. Oh well.

However, that moment of a lack in concentration caused Sohalia to lose her hold on the wild magic that had erupted from Tynan. Before Rhett turned it into ice and snow, the power caused her knees to buckle and hit the floor hard, the force making her gasp for air. She shook like it was cold before the snow flurry even gave chill to the air but now Tynan was on the ground, wrenching her lungs of water.

On her hands and knees, Sohalia crawled to the woman, placing a hand on her back and the other on her shoulder to comfort her through her sobs. She wasn't sure what was going on as she watched Tynan turned her face toward Rhett, a fierce look on her face. There was a moment when she wondered if Rhett had done something, but nothing was certain.

"Tynan...let me help you up..," Sohalia whispered, trying to keep herself steady on her knees while she held onto Tynan. Her eyes were downcast and noticed the sword on Tynan's hip. A weapon? What on earth would make her want to carry a weapon?
Rhett stared at Sohalia fell to her knees then crawled to Tynan. Snow fell upon him then and he began to brush it off, though continued to watch the two women. When Tynan began to choke then vomit, he felt himself take a step back. The magic left the area when Tynan fell but he didn't know what caused it.

And when she stared at him with such an angry face, he took another step backwards. Tynan did not care for him at this moment, at all. What had he done? Hell, he saved her life! Damn woman. Still, he backed up so far his legs hit the chair and he fell into it, snow crunching under his bottom. Yes, wet pants. Also, sarcasm.

"Did I..did I do something wrong?" Rhett wasn't sure if he should even ask that question. Though Sohalia didn't say a word to him about the snow, he wondered if he should have even interfered with whatever happened to Tynan. The fact she was angry, and had a weapon, made him not want to be near her but he couldn't bring himself to sit up at this point as he was now feeling the lethargic effects of using his magic.

Margaret stops in her slow and slightly bloody tracks. She senses something. Something is going on in the Cafe, and something is also going on with Margaret. She begins to wonder why she feels this way. She feels what seems like another sense. This feeling is something she has never experienced or even heard of and it has intensely captured her attention.

Margaret looks over at Ari with a slightly concerned look. "Ari, I think something is going on in the Cafe." She glances towards the front door of the Cafe. "Something...strange." When Margaret glanced towards the Cafe, a feint, purple aura surrounds her. She doesn't know that it's there but it can be barely seen by other eyes other than hers.

"Isn't there always?" Ariannona furrowed her brow as the door was caught by something unseen. She could feel a bit of give to the obstacle and pushed again. "I'll protect you if I need to, but if something's going on in the cafe it'll get handled somehow." The slender girl gave one final giant shove and toppled into the cafe and straight into a snow drift. She sputtered and blinked rapidly, snow thoroughly soaking her once warm clothes. "What is going on?" Looking around at the strange scene before her didn't answer any questions.

Upon opening the door, Margaret saw what Ari saw. Snow. About 10 or so seconds after being overwhelmed with the magic that caused it, she faints. Her overstimulated extra sense caused her entire body to shut down in about an instant. Her body fell as if it were a lifeless rag doll -- slightly flexible but also not. Not that she or anyone else knows it yet, but she was too overwhelmed with the magic in the Cafe -- at least for her current ability level and by not having ever been exposed to it before.

Certain parts of the ground beneath her become stained with her blood from her few, mildly-serious injuries. Luckily, most have them have clotted up.

Tynan went from weeping to manic hysteria in a very short time, her weeping turning into a distraught panic, causing her to choke on her own tears as she clung to Sohalia. Her ability to think had completely gone out the door as she barely registered that Rhett had said anything at all, or the forceful way the door had opened. Tynan began shaking her head back and forth; She didn't know what was going on, what had happened, and worse yet, her fit stole her ability to communicate even those simple sentences. The only thing she knew was that her hand of power had been suddenly, and violently awakened without any known cause, and had nearly taken her.

Tynan wanted the touch and comfort of warm bodies, she wanted up off the floor, and out from under the fast accumulating snow. Tynan simply couldn't feel her legs... or her face or even the arms the gripped Sohalia so tenaciously... So, moving out of the snow on her own was out of the question at the moment, even if she wasn't having a breakdown. Wonderful - Communication was down AND mobility wasn't exactly going to happen.

Her tears became less and less, even though her sobbing continued, as though all her tears had run out. Funny, her having a power with water, you'd think she could cry for all eternity and never run dry, but she had. Tynan rested her head on Sohalia, in that crook between the shoulder and the neck that seemed to be made for people to cuddle up to, to cry into. Her hair nearly completely obstructed the view of her face, and she had to close her eyes. Her hair had started to flowed and swayed as if her hair was caught in a gentle current. Oh her hair had done it before, but it had become a more prominent movement, one you couldn't miss.

Tynan's wails had finally broken into gentle sobs as she lay into Sohalia's gentle touch. She felt the last of the magic recede back into her. Tynan couldn't explain why, but the power had distinct feeling of the tide pulling back from the shore, pulling tighter back into her core. She could feel that power connect to her right hand, and it made her entire arm sore, the worse of it in the palm of her hand. Was that right? Was a hand of power suppose to hurt like that? She had no clue; The sidhe held back the information surrounding hands of power, unless it was what the powers themselves did; Tynan didn't know if there was some sort of ritual or if the way she was feeling now was normal at all. Goddess help her.

Sohalia looked up as the door open, barely a motion from looking at the frigthened Rhett. Margaret and Ari stumbling into the odd snowstorm that the man had created. Confusion was a given; Margaret fainting, however, was not. She watched as Margaret fell to the floor, covering herself in cold snow, while Tynan clung to her body for dear life. She was unsure of whom she should tend to first. Probably the soaking wet Tynan.

"Rhett, please tend to Margaret. And flip the sign on the door to closed." Tynan was now sobbing into her shoulder, soaking her not just from tears but the water that was still in her clothes. Her long tresses were everywhere, and soothingly Sohalia stroked them back trying to pull them from her face. It was rather hard thing, considering she had so much hair. A thought occurred to her, and Sohalia reached to the tree for a ribbon that was tied on. It was red, and velvet but strong. Without much motion, she untied it and slipped the ribbon into the mass of Tynan's hair to attempt to pull it back. It looked like crap, but at least a large portion was out of her face.

"Come, Tynan, let's get you into the kitchen.."

              Sisbera

Through his weakness, Rhett nodded to Sohalia when she told him to tend to the now fainted Margaret. He had seen her fall, but wasn't fast enough to catch her. He was slightly winded, and tired but he could see what was wrong. Slowly, he scooted his way to her then knelt by her as she lay nearly lifeless on the ground in the snow.

He brushed a hand across her face, moving both hair and snow. Besides the cuts and scrapes that he wasn't sure how he got, she seemed fine. Rhett frowned, letting a bit of magic flow into his hand as it passed over her body. He could feel exhaustion but nothing major. The injuries she sustained began to knit themselves together slowly as he passed and once done, he sat back in the snow and waited for her to come to.

"Ari, could you get me something hot to drink, please?"
