Allen was startled a bit at the Waiters appearance. Inwardly he scolded himself for not paying attention to his surroundings once again. He smiled at Gilderoy, then blushed as his stomach gave a loud rumble. He nervously laughed, a bit embarrassed that for all his mulling, his stomach still hadn't been fed and was telling his as much. It wasn't his fault! He just got so wrapped up in his work so much that he forgets to do things...like eat.

...Okay it was totally his fault. Whatever.

"Erm, Gilderoy was it? That sampler sounds awesome. Hot cocoa would be great too thanks!" The young man said, placing his order.
"Oh, I think a cup cake from the display will do just fine. Pick me something with icing as sweet as you," Rhett said with a wink. He was rather enjoying the show she was putting on, even if it was inadvertently. Margaret was quite pretty, and her baby was adorable too. He reached out and picked up his latte, taking a long drink while looking at her over the bottom of his cup. The pink in her cheeks was very noticeable at this point.

"Say, Margaret...,"he said as he lowered his cup,"Do you think I could hold Lisaline while you fetch me my treat? I LOVE babies." With a small clunk, he set his cup down on the table and pushed his plate away, careful not to knock his viola off the table. Gingerly, he set his viola case farther across the table and back against the wall so it couldn't be shoved easily.

Margaret nods and winks at Rhett after he responds to her inquiry regarding the sweet treat he was wanting. "Okay. I'll be right back with it," she says with a warm smile. "And sure, you can hold her." She carefully and slowly takes Lisaline off her hip and hands her to Rhett.

Once Rhett begins to hold Lisaline, Margaret walks over to the front counter and then behind it. She opens the display case, squats halfway to the ground with her legs closed and together and picks out a carrot cake cupcake that is topped with her semi-famous and homemade cream cheese icing. She resists taking a bite of the delicious, carrot-flavored treat. She can't imagine Rhett liking a big bite out of it. She could, however, imagine him making some sort of R-rated joke out of it. She giggles at the thought of a possible joke for a moment. She then closes the display case, stands back up and walks back to Rhett and the table he is sitting at. When she gets to his table, she sets the cupcake down gently on it and looks at him. "Here you go! I make the icing myself along with the actual cake. I think it's rich but not too overwhelming -- I hope you enjoy it." She smiles at him once more.

I am putting the RP on a temporary hiatus. Many of our members are EXTREMELY busy right now and it would be best to pause until they are able to return.

Time wise, we will figure something out once everyone is able to post again.

Autumn had gone nearly as quickly as it had crept up on the little cafe in Barton Town. Frost had laid his kiss upon the sidewalks and windowsills, leaving snow flaked patterns to creep around the edge of glass where the heat of the building didn't quite hold. Preparations had been made to hold out against the large increase in customers wanting hot drinks, as well as finally repairing small cracks in the walls to keep the front room warm.

The ovens were constantly going, pots of coffee always being refilled for the flow of customers never seemed to end when cold weather hit. It was a profitable time of year when the first snow fell and the wind chill dipped low. The increase in profits had fueled a desire for Yule decorations. A rather large yule tree adorned the middle of the cafe, just under the chandelier as if it was the tree topper. Blues, golds, reds, and purples hung from the tree with silver tinsel and garland while evergreen garland looped the walls with glitter, tulle, and lights. Clear balls hung from nearly invisible wire from the ceiling, each with white glitter inside to look like falling snow while crystal snowflakes swayed and danced around, obviously held up by some form of magic.

As far as progress sake in each respective employee of the cafe, most have been working and taking care of their day to day lives. Sohalia and Dax continue to manage the cafe and apartment complex together. New tenants have moved in and out of the apartments, some only looking to use it as a hotel for just a few nights before leaving. Some were evicted nearly as soon as they moved in for some reason or other. They still had empty apartments, but thankfully they were not causing a large drop in income.

Sohalia had promoted Ari to manager, glad to step down and able to focus on other things for the cafe, such as requests to purchase and manage franchises and keep up with the constant demand of supplies. This included making sure they had plenty of preserves from supplies not available in the winter. Gemini was gone, no one was sure what happened to her but her friend had come by to clear out her apartment and take Skye. Sohalia had been sad to hear her long time employee would not be returning, but such was life. Margaret had recently been dating, although no one had met her beau yet. Rhett became almost a permanent part of the cafe, many customers coming by to sit and drink coffee while listening to him play on his viola. Tynan had stepped up well to the position of head waitress, easily taking charge of new employees while keeping a watching eye on the silent Vivi.

There has been no other advances in anyone's personal magicks since Sohalia's discovering of being Sidhe.

And with that, a new day has begun with the opening of the shop...

Sohalia strode away from the now unlocked door which had recently been replace of its stained glass, again. However it was decorated similar to the rest of the cafe now and fogged up slightly from the front room beginning to heat for the day. Outside, there was a very fine powdering of snow on the ground already and the sky was still dark for the sun had yet to come up. She and Dax had taken to opening early this winter, as people would leave earlier to avoid traffic in the snow and would usually want to stop by for something hot to drink on the way. They had adjusted well to getting up early and staying up late, though Sohalia ended up taking a nap during most days during the slow time in the afternoon.

Humming, she danced around the base of the tree, stopping only to adjust a decoration that had been bumped recently out of place. She smiled, soft lips turning up as she danced away again to stand behind the counter. Fresh pots of coffee were brewing, nearly filled as it was the very first thing she did right before unlocking the door. Another double pot machine had replaced the smoothie machines, which were now along the counters in the back cover with a plastic sheet. A small blender took their place, as they rarely received an order for something so cold since the weather turned, the small machine was all that was necessary.

With her foot, Sohalia pulled her stool out from under the counter and set herself upon it. She had a good fifteen or twenty minutes before customers started coming in which gave her a few moments to read the book she had started working on. Now that everything had been running smoothly, time management had become much easier and she was able to read a book now and then while also taking back up fitness training. The belly she had put on from lack had been replaced by the usual flat line she had. Sohalia hummed softly to herself, removing the feather she had been using as a placeholder to put behind her ear while she waited for customers and employees to enter her cafe.
[yay cafe!]

Rhett stood briefly on the corner where two roads met next to the cafe, viola case in hand as usual, filling his lungs with the cool winter air. He smiled, puffing his hot breath back out in small clouds, amusing himself. It was cold out, but not so bad that one couldn't walk around and enjoy it. Rhett wore a long tan trench coat with a bright orange scarf wrapped around his neck that was startling against his ice blue eyes. With his handsome boyish looks, he seemed to pass for no more than seventeen years old, although he was twenty five. For some reason, since the weather turned cold, his appearance had slightly changed. He hadn't gotten his usual trim on his hair and it had come now to nearly shoulders and held a slight curl to it, it also seemed much lighter in color than the usual platinum blond appearing almost as white as snow.

After a few moments of looking like some weird guy, Rhett took a turn to his left toward the entrance of the cafe. He had made a promise to Miss Sohalia a few days back to be there every morning during the rush to play for her. She had offered to pay him, which he graciously took, but rather enjoyed the view of being there himself. There was so much eye candy! His eyes favored particularly upon the lovely Tynan but you could catch him eyeing the other lovey ladies as well. And Gilderoy. And Dax. But mostly Tynan, although he was fairly certain she barely knew he existed as much more than the viola player and a customer. He was drawn to her for some reason, and he was not 'elf struck' as they said about mortals liking the Sidhe.

It was only a few long strides for him and he was the door, turning the handle and entering to see Sohalia at the counter nose deep in a book as usual. As of late, he had done a lot of book shopping for her and had already planned a Yule gift for her. The bell above tinkled, but before she could look up, Rhett announced himself.

"Good morning, Miss Sohalia."

Fear no more the midnight
Fear no more the sea
Close your eyes, regret nothing

Tynan disentangled herself from the big fluffy comforters that littered her bed, displacing the sleeping form of Chii, who was now lost to the mound of covers. Tynan noted the crispness to the air as she stood and started working on her long mess of hair, working it from the loose braid she had started keeping it in at night; There was simply too much hair for one person to brush out after sleeping and keeping it in the braid helped keep the knots and tangles from her flowing hair. She worked methodically upbraiding, then brushing, then upbraiding some more. Tynan worked in this manner for sometime before here hair was completely brushed out and she could start styling it for the day.

It had been near a month since Tynan had started working as a waitress at the Cafe; long enough to notice the more provocatively she dressed the better her tips. Especially from Mr. Caldwell; he had become a regular at the Cafe, playing viola and flirting his way through the day. She had caught his gaze lingering on her more than once and used it to her advantage, her best tips of the day always coming from the mysterious man. It was with him that she had learned about the clothing, about how she acted and how it would affect her tips and the cafe's over all business and why she smiled as she pulled this particular outfit out for the day. It was a white and black theme, today. Tynan squeezed into the sparkling black corset and fixed her garter's into place before slipping into the long white bustle with it's black designs and matching frilly burlesque shorts. She added to the affect of the outfit with a matching shrug, long satin gloves, as well as black stockings and a pair of plain, black high heels. Inspecting that her outfit was exceptional, she quickly went to the mirror and twisted her hair up atop her head, pinning it in place with some branches of mistletoe she had picked the night prior. The branches began to curl in her hair, moving and clinging and winding themselves through her hair in a very unplant-like manner.

Satisfied with the effect, Tynan darkened her eyelids with simple eyeshadow and lined them with black before finally heading for the door. Tynan was fairly certain Vivi could manage on her own today; in the month they'd been living together Tynan had been showing the smaller woman how to handle a blade and in all honestly, she wasn't half bad. Tynan had taken to much time getting ready to prepare a breakfast so she walked straight past the ktichen to the front door, pausing only briefly to hide Bas Nihm in the folds of her skirt before she left. Tynan had taken to carrying her blade on her at all times since Vivi had shown up. She thought about that day as she walked out the door, locking it behind her and headed down the stairs to her way to work. Tynan knew that Mr. Caldwell had been in the street, given chase the day Vivi had shown up and ever since he'd been in the cafe. It was a little to much to be coincidence for Tynan. No... no, she didn't trust Rhett Caldwell one damn bit.

Tynan hit the front door of the apartment building flinging it open onto the crisp winter day. Snow had abruptly taken Autumn this year, but Tynan paid no attention to the cold, it didn't affect her. Indeed the cold hadn't bothered Tynan since the first day she had arrived at the cafe. It was more like the cold had seeped into her soul and there it had stayed when Sohalia had touched her. Tynan placed a hand over her chest as she walked down the street, along side the cafe now. She could still feel that coldness as if it had just then taken root. The memory brought a small frown to her face as she rounded the corner of the building and walked into the Cafe.

Tynan's striking eyes first landed on Rhett, clearly having just gotten there himself, causing Tynan's small frown to deep just slightly and subconsciously place a hand on her hip.

"Good morning, Mr. Caldwell, Ms. Sohalia," Tynan said in a voice that sounded flat, even to her; strange, she usually had much better control of her tone of voice than that.

                                                  { OOC : How much time did we skip? }

Margaret has been adjusting to motherhood quite well. It was mostly just coming naturally to her, as most people told her that it would. Lisaline is getting bigger and smarter by the day and Margaret can tell that she is ready to become mobile. Just what she needs.

Margaret has been seeing someone for a while. She hasn't spoken about him much, mostly because she isn't sure where exactly it is going. She doesn't want to make a big deal about it, either, even though she considers him to be a boyfriend. His personality is what she likes most about him -- the fact that he is extremely attractive is a plus, though. They try and schedule dates every weekend. Sometimes they'll go to a family-oriented place during the day and bring Lisaline along, but only infrequently. She is afraid that, if Lisaline gets too attached to him, it could pose a problem if it doesn't work out between her and him. She isn't that much of an optimist so she always tries to stay prepared for any possible negative outcomes. It isn't a bad trait to have. To her, anyway.

Margaret wakes up. Once she comes to, she looks around. She is laying outside, but it doesn't quite register yet. After about 30 or 45 seconds, she sits up quickly and continues to look around. She doesn't recognize any specific landmarks and she doesn't recall how she got there or what happened the previous night. She begins to panic, seeing as she just discovered she had been sleeping outside in the middle of a place that seemed like a small field...without Lisaline, and any knowledge of her whereabouts.

Margaret pulls her cell phone out of the right pocket of her jeans. She notices that it is off -- strange. She turns it on without a second thought and, once it powers on, she looks at the time. She hops to her feet and begins looking around, growing more nervous by the second. After a minute, though, she notices that she has a horrible headache. Her hands, arms and legs don't feel that great, either. Wondering where the pain is coming from, she looks down and sees nothing but red on all of her limbs. It is dripping and pooling on the dying grass beneath her. Her hands look as though they're burnt but she has no idea how that could have happened, seeing as though she handles fire rarely. The clothes she's wearing have sparse holes. Her breathing rapidly increases and she drops her phone on the ground. In a panic, she starts to run towards any sign of civilization, through patches of staring bystanders and all.

Margaret beings noticing familiar buildings -- she's in Barton Town now. She heads towards the place most familiar to her. She continues to run, even though she feels as though she's about to pass out. Probably from the loss of blood. In the distance, she sees the Cafe. With her last bought of energy, she runs to it as fast as she can in hopes of being able to reach it. About four feet away from the Cafe's front, though, she trips on the flip flops she's wearing and falls forward on the ground. She felt the ground skin both of her knees and one of her elbows on impact but, as of right now, that was the least of her worries.

Too much in pain to get back up, Margaret is forced to remain where she is on the ground. Feeling all of the pain from her head and limbs bombard her all at once, she bursts into tears. Not only does she not know why she had been sleeping outside and how she became so injured, but she also still has no idea where Lisaline is.

When the bell rang, Sohalia waited a few more seconds to finish the page she was to look up. A rush of air jingled the decorations on the tree, giving her a light breeze that ruffled the pages of the book in her hands. She shuttered slightly and turned the page, greeted with the voice of Rhett Caldwell before she could look up. A smile soft graced her lips before she looked up then set the book down to look at him.
"Good morning, you're early today," she said softly, slipping the book into the shelves under the register. If Rhett was there already, it meant customers would be upon them soon so she might as well put the book away. There would be no more reading for a while. It was as if what she was thinking came true, when the door opened again. With the tree being in the way, it block the front door and she hadn't noticed anyone outside the other windows; although it was hard to see as they began to fog heavily from the heat inside clashing with the cold glass.

Sohalia stood, using her foot to kick the stool back under the counter, prepared to greet a customer when Tynan came into view just as the door closed. While the heat warmed the air that rushed in rather quickly, the flat tone of voice from Tynan and the look she gave Rhett gave Sohalia a chill. Obviously there was some discomfort toward him.

"Well, if you'll excuse me, it would appear as though some ice as started to build up. I need to get the ice scraper..." Her voice trailed off as she turned rather sharply on her heels and headed into the kitchen with a sweep of her skirt. She was not about to get into that mess, whatever it was. Outside in the front, unbeknownst to her, Margaret had fallen and seemed to be in distress.

[OOC: Well, Fushigi, its December now and we closed mid-October.]
[ y u no likey me? emo ]

Rhett gave Sohalia a little bow when she acknowledged him, just before the door rushed open again. He jumped, but only slightly, at the sound and turned to find his most favorite person (besides the lovely Sohalia) walking in the door. His eyes lit up at the sight of her, a smile slapped on his handsome face like a stupid, love drunk boy but was smashed into kindling when she gave him an icy look.

He didn't understand. He was always so kind to her. Was he overly kind? Had he been flirting too much?! By the Gods, she thought he was a creeper! Noooo! Rhett could not allow her to be a creeper, he must find out what he did wrong and fix it, immediately! He took a few steps back from her, his face neutral at this point and looked directly at Tynan.

"You don't like me very much, do you?" Blunt and to the point as only a human could ask, "Miss Tynan, if I have offended you in some way, please allow me to redeem myself by telling me what I have done to put a frown on such a gorgeous face." He was sincere, completely, after all he didn't like someone not liking him. It would make his stay here rather unpleasant, and he didn't care to leave unless he was truly unwelcome.

Tynan was taken aback by Rhett's bluntness. She had been among the humans for a month now, had become more adjusted, however she had not expected such a straight forward question from the mostly quite man. She blinked pretty, long lashes at him in an attempt to shake off the shock of him and made a grab at one of the Yule tree's branches, shaking a few ornaments, causing them to tinkle together in protest as she tried to ground herself. Tynan schooled her face into looking ashamed adding just a touch of small glamour paint a pretty blush across her face, the Sidhe just don't blush as well as human's did, as she brought her hand to her check just as she turned away slightly. She used her beauty to try to distract him, hopefully, from perusing the questions much further; Tynan simply hoped he would fall for the ploy as she easily slipped into her more demure nature.

Honestly, Mr. Caldwell had done nothing to her, it was the sense of unease from his sudden arrival that shook her, made her wary of him, and she had let dark thoughts leak into her voice and posture. She let the shame she felt at her lack of control touch her face, letting it lie that she hadn't meant to be so cold to him.

"Forgive me, Mr. Caldwell, I came in here thinking of dark things. It was not caused by your presence here, right now," She said, letting some loose strands of her oh-so-long hair frame and outline her already noticeable eyes. She let her sentence hang on the cold air for a dramatic effect, hoping he wouldn't catch the hook in her words, "I didn't mean to give offense to you or Ms. Sohalia, Sir," Her voice dropped to a low whisper, making it almost sound like a repressed sob that had been formed into words. Tynan kept her eyes down cast and blinked her eyes rapidly as she added a glimmer of tears to her eyes with the small glamour she had. Nothing distracted men from a hard line of questioning quite like a woman's unshed tears.

Sohalia was already in the kitchen when the verbal exchange between Rhett and Tynan began to happen. However, she was not out of earshot. Instead of moving fully into the kitchen, she stood at the counter just beside the swinging doors looking over some paperwork that she had set there last night. Most of which was a bunch of order forms for supplies which weren't due for another week, thankfully.

While looking, the tiny hairs on the back of her neck began to stand up ever so slightly. Tynan was using magic, if only a tiny, tiny bit. Sohalia's senses to magic had heightened, mostly due to the fact she had been training to use it, and the fact she had no magical barriers up over herself. Something else was wrong as well that caused her to glance at the clock. Margaret wasn't here yet, and it was unlike her to be late. She turned her head back and peered outside, moving a piece of hair tinsel away from her eye to peer at the two to see if she could spot Margaret walking up the street.

The windows were fogged now, and it would be hours before they cleared, if at all. Sohalia frowned and waited a few more minutes before she would leave to search for her employee.

Rhett watched as Tynan grabbed the Yule tree, nearly toppling several expensive, glass ornaments to the ground which would have no doubt angered the lovely Sohalia. When they didn't, his gaze fixed back up at Tynan as the gentle push of magic began to press the space between them. Was she...was she using glamour on him?! The blush crept upon her cheeks as she turned her face downcast. He waited, watching before turning slightly to set his viola case on the table beside him with a clatter.

Tynan was playing him. However, he guessed she didn't know that he had some magical abilities himself and could not sense when magic was being used, lest a tiny amount of glamour. He ran his hands over the case, feeling the supple leather that protected his most prized item. Rhett was unsure of how to broach this subject, as she obviously didn't want to give him a straight answer.

With a sigh, he turned his body back toward her slightly, looking at her from under a lock of his own hair. There was a sparkle to her eyes, the attempted sob in her voice as she tried to weasel out of the question. Rhett continued to stare at her, admiring the way she faked upset at his question. He didn't know of Sidhe culture, much, and realized he had asked a rather blunt question.

"Miss Tynan, I apologize for offending you so," he responded, keeping his tone light,"It just seemed as though when your lovely gaze landed upon me your mood darkened. I wish not sad tears upon your lovely face from dark thoughts, I wish only that I may be a friend that you can confide in." Rhett turned fully toward her while speaking, flourishing himself in a low bow as he moved his coat aside for the dramatic effect. A peek under the clothes and one could see he was wearing light and dark blues today. He hung his head low for a few seconds, before turning to look up at her with those boyishly handsome looks and smiled most sincere to her.

Something about the way he had worded his own apology made her hair stand on end and her heart pound in her ears. Thankfully, she was fairly sure that her face stayed delicate, and slightly hurt. He had apologized for the question, though... did he know what she was, then? Who was this mysterious man before her? Was he someone she should fear? Probably. She already distrusted him, but she couldn't bring herself to see him as an enemy... a threat, but somehow not an enemy... oh he was so ridiculously disarming

Tynan gazed at him from the side as he gave a ridiculously low bow; Perhaps the Queen of the Unseelie, herself, would have approved of such a grandiose gesture made with such... flair? Yes, flair; and noted that his very appearance seemed to have changed for the winter, as the soft morning light caught his now platinum hair, longer now than before. She flashed a sheepish smile at him; he was like the hare who changed his brown coat for white for the winter.

Oh Gods, why had that thought made her smile?! Evil. The man was evil! He was somehow working glamour of his own upon her, Tynan just new it. Oh, yes, she could play the sly devil as well, then. Oh, yes, she'd play this silly mortal like the instrument he was so found of.

He gazed up at her then and she kept her eyes soft, her posture submissive as she closed the small distance between them. She reached her hand out, and gently stroked some locks out of his face, bringing him upright with the gossamer touch to his hair, a touch that had been well cultivated at the High Courts. Tynan had trailed her fine fingers down the curve of Rhett's ear, gliding down his neck, finally coming to rest on his collar bone while her other hand played lightly with his shirt collar.

She kept her eyes down cast, but Tynan's once coy smile grew into a small one of confidence; Perhaps he didn't know what she was, or he would not have let her lay a hand upon him. The hand that played with his shirt traced over a small patch of vare skin on Rhett's chest as she purposefully stirred his aura, dragged hers through his. Ice, she thought; Ice and magic. Perhaps he did know about her then, if he had magic, and was just stupid? Or perhaps he knew about her personally and that she had no Hand of power?

"Why would I be so offended? You gave no offense, did you Mr. Caldwell?.... did you?" Tynan purred the last at him as she cursed herself silently; If she had more power she would have truly used glamour against the man to rend his secrets from him. Lucky him she had no such glamour. She ignored everything else he had said; until he proved to truly be a friend she would confide nothing to this man.
