Welcome to Gaia! ::

"Caine's shadow..."

She muttered the words under her breath, but the sight of a man openly turning up outside a bar in a flash of lightning was.... different... to her, to say the least.
And yet, suprrisingly, despite the few words she spoke her facial expression didnt change. The relaxed smile hadnt flickered, though the long cloak wrapped around her did ripple a little as the man approached and spoke.

"And what can I get you to drink, before we start on business? Lesuire should always be a gentleman's primary concern, no? Especially in the company of ladies."

A quirked brow was the only expression to follow, and a slight widening of the preset smile.

"Ah." She saidd in slight surpise as the man 'Jan' he had been named. "Thank you sir." she said simply as she drank the water slowly, savoring the sweet flavor of the water. She then ignored the other occupants mostly, only taking notice of them and their position. The man with the bottle of Jack seemed a most violent man, and a possible drunkard. Then there was the distinguished man who seemed to ride lightning, she was unsure of him. He looked pleasant, but the trumpets that followed his arrival hurt her ears.

She turned back to the woman who had asked 'Jan' to supply the water. "Are you the owner of this new establishment?"

"No ma'am, that would be the lady there who has just, it would seem, recieved two offers to employ hit men in as many minutes. Seems we've moved to quite the city - charming young women, and a whole spectrum of males to accompany them.
Forgive me for asking, but as I say we've only recently moved into town... is it usual to see such a... diversity... of people here?"

Indeed, as the bartender spoke, the red haired woman had turned her body a little towards the first male who had entered, listening to him after answering the 'lightning-man'. Her posture indicated he too was welcome to talk business after drinks were sorted.
Truly, this new city was offering a wealth of interest already. A very very positive start.

She smiled at 'Jan' and nodded. "Yes. There has always been many people here who carry... interesting powers, backgrounds and the like." She was becoming more comfertable as she drank more of the sweet flavored water, having drained a quarter of the glass. She turned her head to the owner who handled the two men "Perhaps she could use a bouncer or too here. I dont know about either of them, but I would gladly offer my services." she looked back to 'Jan' with another smile. "There are many brutes and riff-raff here." she said. Though she was smiling her voice held a hint of disgust.

Riff-raff.... Viper would have taken that as a insult if that statement wasn't so true. The large black haired male walked towards the lady, and throws his left arm around her shoulders with a large smile.
"Water? Really missy. Got to down ya booze. Ya Dig?"
He said to her as he lifted the bottle of Jack up to his lips, and took another great swig. Viper could handle his alcohol to well. Next to his late brothers he was the better drunk. Be it a violent man.
"Interesting powers.... riff-raff.... how very intriguing."

Jan smiled as he talked, running a clean cloth around the inside rim of one of the unpacked glasses, removing any traces of packing material in doing so.

"What sort of thing are we talking about here? I assume you do not mean the general populace of the internet who like to show off their stupidity as a super power."

A light smile accompanied the quip, as well as genuine curiosity. Indeed, it hadnt slipped the bar tenders note that the young lady he was talking to had unusual eyes, though he was of course far too polite to comment on such - besides, if everything he had heard was true, it wouldnt be so much unusual, as just strange to him. Gaia had a reputation after all - one which may swiftly be proved, now the first male had joined the young lady. Despite the physical contact, the bartender made no move to even protest, merely watching keenly to see what happened next.
" Gentlemen? That would depend who you ask. Though nonetheless polite folly. As for my concerns, clear liquor, for now." He said as he situated himself into the bar's seat, sitting with his right hand on the counter, elbow as well, and his left laying across his side and lap, the forearm carefully pressed against the hilt of his weapon. He was obviously aware of the clientele they were attracting. It was the way he seemed to move, the deftness in his gaze that felt like it just drew information into his mind.

"Interesting crowd." He said, turning his attention behind him speaking directly to no one, there was a shallow scorn in his voice, a disdain of them.
Down the streets of the commerce district in Durem a young man walked down the street oogling the many locations that had seemed to pop up every once in a while. His eyes stopped on a new one and he quirked an eyebrow. Hopefully it would be unlike the one he currently worked at. For one thing, he noted everyday he wished to kill himself if he had to continue wearing pink shirts and pants. It was hard to get laid when you looked like walking cotton candy. Not that he was in any rush to get laid, bonus as it would be for him.

Hoping it was open the young man cautiously pushed the double doors opened and smiled when the atmosphere seemed inviting. "Ah, much better. No mini skirts, no whores and oh my god is that a fire place? I love this place already."

Slinging the bag full of art supplies over his shoulder the man walked to the bar, He'd talk to the others eventually once he got a nice drink and maybe some food. And you know, probably watched them for a while to make sure they were friendly. He'd had enough odd things happen lately. He was going to order something to drink when his cell phone trilled. He dug it out of his pocket and looked at it before answering. "What is it now. The bar's locked." He motioned to the bartender and pointed to a water bottle and gave a thumbs up. "Thanks mate." He said in advance and turned his head. He looked around at everyone inside and wondered about them, he knew Gaia had interesting creatures. He hoped this was one of those places.

Ears twitched just a hair.

Wetwork? Employment? Immediately, the young punk's attention was piqued.

Pausing in his stride, he took a few steps in reverse to see what the deal was. This strange place seemed to house its fair share of eccentrics and weirdos, to be sure. Women folk and suit clad men, and what's that? One of the old Bluesummers? Man, those were the days....the punk remembered them.

Sauntering into the bar, the punk slipped his way to a seat, choosing to maintain a keen sense of awareness of those who were discussing work.

((A little preoccupied, but still here.))
She ignored the man who had his arm around her shoulder for the most part. A skinny arm reached to his arm, grabbing a hold of it gingerly. Yet there was a strength there that betrayed her small frame. She picked up the arm off her shoulder and politely let it go so it may swing back to his side. She looked at 'Jan' the entire time. "For example. The distinguished man who came on a bolt of lightning. Either he has ways with magic, or perhaps he simply is born from a lightning God. Who knows? Everyone seems to have some sort of mystical power these days." She shrugged. "It can get tiring."

Once she finished her sentence she looked up to the man drinking the Jack. "I apologize if that was rude. I dont drink alcohol sir." she stopped, trying to find the right words. "It dulls the senses." she said suddenly with a pleasant smile still.
"I tend to find treating all well until given reason not to saves on violence... and teh cost of replacing furniture. Clear liquor it is."

Smiling, Roan herself went behind the bar to fix the drink for the male she was still thinking of as the 'lightning-man' while Jan organised water for the fourth newcomer who had come in, and takena shien to the fireplace. As for the fifth, he had yet to order, and despite the less than demure demeanor the man seemed to have, Jan approahced to speak to him, asking if he could get him anything.

Re-rounding the bar to pass off the drink to lightning-man, Roan smiled a little wider, a little more genuinely, and stretched out a gloved hand.

"Roan DeSeer. Pleasure to meet you. I am assuming, from the interesting night Im havign already, that discretion is not so much the better part of valour here, so much as it is the abused whore child of a red headed step-mother, pinne dout in the street for a pity parade.
Should I assuem EVERYONE in the city ends up needing wet work eventually, or that everyone is psychic and thinks Im runnign from somethign big and bad? The mentality of this city intrigues me."

As her strength squeezed down on a arm that wouldn't feel the pain. As it was throw he would grin as she was far more interesting than the rest of the lots. The lightning guy was something interesting however, the woman was his tastes.
"I guess, but I don't need my senses to work effectively missy. However, ya got some might behind that little hand of yours. Ya Dig?"
He said to her, and throws his arm around her. He chuckles mostly out of some amusement she brought Viper for a moment. Taking another large gulp from the alcohol. He most likely doesn't learn quickly but he loved testing the waters, or annoying people no one knows.

"Sounds like just being normal will be my super power then... that and the rarest super power of all! Common sense!"

Jan's smiling response to the lady was given as he crossed the room from delivering water to one man, to ask another if he needed anything.

"If every night is going to be like this, we're going to end up needing more than just me behind the bar. I must say, Im suprised at how open everyone here is. Does no one police the area at all? What are the laws like around here?"

Charming, disarming, harmless and human. Jan struck the radar as painfully normal, and mortal. Prehaps it really would come to be his biggest asset here in Durem.
Negative on the drinks...as Jan approached, the punk simply held a hand up, palm forward. There was nothing he cared to drink at the moment. After a few minutes, he opted that he would return. For now, there were things to do, and food to cook for the author in the very near future...
Again she ignored the man who now had his arm draped around her neck. instead she continued to respond to 'Jan' with a grin. Common sense was indeed an asset here, and one that did not hold in many. "Police?" she thought about ti for a moment. "I believe we did have a police force, but they did not last long. Too many lawless...chaotic people."

she sighed then, but still didnt move. "Must you? I come for water and pleasant conversation. Must you try and provoke me sir?" she asked the man who drank the jack heavily.
Quirking a brow Keiiri smiled. It looks like he was indeed in the right place if he was hearing correctly. This place was something he could enjoy when he had time off from work. If his b***h of a boss ever gave him time off. He snapped his cell phone shut and took his water bottle with a smile before opening it up and watching everyone. His ears were picking up on some interesting things and some of them were pretty much happening right next to him with the young woman and the man with what seemed like a a thick skull.
