Dusk was nearing, and already the inhabitants of the Crimson Rose Hotel were stirring in its disheveled remains. In one room, faint melodious humming could be heard coming from a pale silhouette sitting at an old-fashioned oak desk. "Mmm hmm hmmm~♪" the figure's soft voice hummed each note heightening slightly in frequency. It then reached over to a small instrument, a violin, and plucked the thin wire strings accordingly. With a subtle motion, the dark form lit a short wax candle. Now the figure's features were more visible. The tiny flame lit up the face of a young man. He looked about the age of 15 or 16, although his cerulean blue eyes gave his face a more childish and innocent look. Still, there was a more mature air that tinted his features."Mmm hmm hmm~♪" he hummed again taking an ink pen and scribbling down three half-notes on an already note-spattered piece of paper.

"You never cease to amuse me, Lua. You're still into that human human habit of using light when it gets dark out." a rich soft voice commented from behind him. The stranger looked almost identical to Lua, except for the more aggressive air as opposed to Lua's innocent atmosphere, and the figure's black hair was seemingly wilder than his brother's tame mane.

"I don't need your criticism, Kaos. I already told you it's nostalgic for me. . .and, besides, the rhythmic flickering of this little ember is helping me with the new song I'm writing." he bit back.

"Alright." Kaos agreed with a slight nod. "If its good, then we can play it tonight." He patted Lua on the shoulder with a slender pale hand before sliding a long a long black trenchcoat over his pallid bare shoulders. He then screwed in a pair of earbuds and switched his black zune.

"Where ya headed?" the brother asked his twin after turning around to look at him.

"I'm gonna check up on anyone else who would be up at this time besides you." he huffed as he headed toward the door.

"Mmn." was all Lua could reply as he return his gaze to his paper. "Hah. That brother of mine. . ." he thought as he scribed a few notes onto his paper. He was used to Kaos's slightly displeasing temperament ever since they were young. Even when they were struggling through their fledgling years, his attitude remained the same. Even so, it was comforting to receive such feedback. Kaos was, in fact, his only family ever since they abandoned their parents after becoming vampires. He believed that he and his brother refused to return simply out of fear. Fear, being that they would feed off their family after becoming vampires. Unfortunately for them, they much later discovered that not all vampires drank blood. Instead, he and his twin fed off the elements. Lua with moonlight, and Kaos with storms. Although he was still unsure how the process worked, he accepted this fate of theirs.

Lua sighed and picked up his violin. It was faded and old, the polish of the instrument worn away, giving a more ragged look as opposed to the usual shiny luster other stringed instruments possessed. He raised a slender thumb, and plucked the strings to the notes he had written on his paper. After his minute performance, he set down the old instrument, pleased with his composition. With a satisfied smile, he declared quietly, "I shall name this Frozen Flame."

Luna sat back and watched her clan play around in the ally. There were not that many so it looked like a group of teenagers playing around. She looked up to the sky and smiled since the sun was gone now. "Alright you guys," she looked down at them.

She put a hand up in the air like she had a gun in her hand. She watched her members just stare at her. She had a blank face but she was laughing inside.

"Bang," she yelled and they all disappeared quickly to find there hunt. Luna smiled and hopped down from where she was sitting at on the emergency escape stairs on a building.

She already knew where she was going to start her hunting. She fixed her outfit that showed her curves perfectly and could attract many looks.

"Time to feed," she walked down the ally heels clicking seeing a club right out the ally.

The night was warm and dry. Not that it mattered to a vampire of any kind. For Kaos this was all too true. In fact, he actually felt quite cold at the moment. He hadn't fed in such a long time, but the situation was out of his control.

Kaos was now outside. He had settled himself on the gray cement surface of the hotel's bottom stair. Punk rock music blasted from his earbuds muffling his senses. Despite the fact that he had the volume to its maximum, the noise was just a dull roar as pleading thoughts of hunger pulsed through his mind. He raised his face to the thin white clouds that smeared the purple and blue tinted skies. The gaze of his ruby red eyes rested on the moon, which provided a guiding light for those who wandered the city at night. Inwardly, he wished that it's haunting glow could nourish his body as it did his brother, but it wasn't only the hunger that had him restless. It was many other things, as well. Specifically one thought that he continually tried to push into the far back of his mind. Something he constantly attempted to prevent from resurfacing. It was--

His focus shifted slightly to a sudden familiar whiny creak he heard beyond the subfusc thumping of his ear buds. It was his twin, Lua approaching with the finished sheet of music. The sibling handed over the page, and sat beside him without a word. Kaos skimmed over the paper playing out every note in his mind.

"This one's kinda slow. . ." he commented bluntly, pointing out the numerous half-notes and dotted notes that freckled the page.

"I'm well aware. I've been working on it since the afternoon, and I was hoping you could think up a little upbeat tempo to even this one out." he replied calmly before looking down to pick at his thumbs, "You've been so out of it lately. I can see it in your stride. I can hear it in your music. Something's wrong."

"It's nothing. Just a little starved. There just hasn't been a storm in weeks."

"Maybe you shouldn't have wasted all that energy in that fight at The Joint last week."

"That b*****d damaged my cello." he snarled baring his gleaming fangs at his twin. To him, marring his most prized possession was more than an insult. It was a death wish.

"Look, it was just a dumb human."

"We used to be dumb humans. . ." he mumbled.

"So this isn't just about you being hungry." Lua concluded with a deep sigh.

"Look! I don't want to talk about it right now!"

"You never want to talk about it! Fine. I can wait. I have all eternity. Tell me when you're ready." he replied, his soft sapphire eyes scanning hisbrother's pained expression, "I'll be in the back. The moonlight will be better over there." The vampire then walked off, his bluish white trenchcoat undulating behind him like a silvery ocean.

"Eternity. . ." Kaos repeated in his mind still clinging to the repulsive word. In the past, the concept was wonderful. Beautiful even. To live forever, but, of course, the human mind never understands how long eternity lasts.

He looked to the dull worn sidewalk beneath his scuffed black dress shoes. "Why should I be complaining. I'm sure every vampire goes through this s**t." he thought before resting his eyes on the sheet held in his sallow hand. A gentle wind blew teasing his jet-black hair as though trying to soothe him. He pulled the buds out of his ears, and switched of the zune, whose battery life was already incredibly low. What now replaced the music he was listening to was a low reverberating pulse of a cello, he played in his head quickly joined by the frantic pizzacatto of a viola. "That's it." he whispered in enlightenmemt.

Luna was about to cross the street but she looked to her left and noticed a guy sitting on a stairs at a horrible building. She smiled since she thought he would be an easy meal. Walking over quietly she sat next to him and looked at his note sheet.

"hello cutie what are you doing over here by yourself?" she tilted her head and smiled flipping her hair behind her shoulder curious of why he was sitting by himself in by this dump.

She knew that she really should say much since she didn't have a place really to stay at. For about 4 years she didn't have a place to go to and that kind of made her mood go down a little.

An odd feeling pricked at Kaos's senses. Somebody unfamiliar was coming near. He didn't move his head, but instead turned his gaze from the notes on his sheet music, and looked through his bangs to see an approroaching female. He ran his tongue across his fang. This was odd. Not many people hung around this area of the city around this time. Especially not girls. He thought that all the rumors about mysterious disappearances around the hotel had scared the majority of the population. Obviously, this didn't apply to the person wandering over to him.

As she came closer, he was able to tune into her a little more. She was a vampire, and it seemed that she thought he was going to be an easy meal. It was amazing what his ameteur psychic abilities were able to pick up on without really trying. He rolled up his sheet of music.

It wasn't until she sat next to him, that he finally looked up. She wore a tight black dress that hugged her every curve. Locks of ebony hair cascaded down her shoulders, and slid back like a curtain when she pushed it behind her shoulder in a flirty fashion. Kaos wasn't exactly good at this sort of thing, but judging by the way she dressed, she either belonged to the Toreador, or Ventrue clan. These clans usually needed to be good looking in order to snatch up a meal. He almost felt jelous. She could feed whenever she wanted.

When she spoke, he felt his undead heart flutter in his empty chest. It wasn't that he didn't expect such a sound to escape from her lips. He had heard stories about a certian clan using their voice as a lure. What was it again? Right, the Ventrue. Despite the stories, he didn't realize it would work so well on him. The sound was alluring, almost hypnotic, tugging at that infinitesimal human part of himself he clung onto.

When he recollected his thoughts, he finally answered. "I'm just waiting for somebody."

Luna pouted her lip a little and moved a little closer and crossed her legs showing a little bit of her thigh.

"Thats horrible to be waiting here for someone arent you lonely." She tilted her head curious about him since it looked like he could fight her powers.

She began to hum the music she saw on the music sheet and liked it. "Did you make that?" She smiled sweetly at him while singing it, "Sounds so lovely."

She sighed while her head was tilted, "Well i guess your girlfriend would hate to see you with me." She got up and stretched and bent down and smiled at him her hand held out to him "It was nice meeting you Mr?"

Meanwhile, Lua stood in the back of the hotel, only accompanied by the stripped rusty cars that littered the parking lot of the building, and, of course, the moon. His only provider, Mother Luna.

The moonlight on his skin was wonderful and refreshing, feeling every cell of his being openly welcoming the nourishing light to sustain his body; his life. Such energy was easy to obtain, but also meant that it ran out quickly. This meant he had to reserve his energy one day out of the month when the celestial body was absent from its throne in the sky. At moments when he was feeding, he would occasionally feel bad for his dear brother, unable to replenish his energy every day. Instead, Kaos would have to wait for storms such as blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes, and lightning storms and such to refuel. There hadn't been a sign of a storm all week, and he knew his twin was starving. He was well aware that a tempest would supply ample long-lasting energy, but he was also aware of how reckless Kaos was. "It was his fault this time." he thought trying to push away the troubling thoughts that inturrupted his nightly feeding.

<~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~~.~.~.~.~>

When he had finally gotten his fill, Lua went back inside, and ascended the stairs with vampiric speed, taking a sharp turn after he reach the top floor into his room. Sapphire eyes scanned the dark room, and landed on two black cases, one much larger than the other. He snatched them up like weightless pillows, and hoisted them up under his arms. In another swift movement, he was back down the stairs, and walking toward the front entrance. He slowed his pace when he noticed someone seated next to his brother.

"I'm not exactly lonely," Kaos replied, "they haven't really been away for too long." He listened carefully as she hummed the notes that were written on the sheet. "Thanks, actually, its not mine, but I'm helping someone out with it." He looked back down at the rolled up sheet in his hand. He stifled a laugh at what she said next. Girlfriend. Is that who she thought he was waiting for?

"It was nice meeting you, Mr?" the girl asked, smiling and offering a hand.

"Kaos." a soft voice interrupted, "His name's Kaos." The owner of the voice emerged from the shadows. It was Lua with a cello under one arm, and a violin mounted on his back. "You ready to go?"

Luna smiled at Kaos, "Well Kaos," she dropped her hand and, "It was nice meeting you," Luna was actually startled since she was telling the truth.

"I hope we meet again," she nodded her head at the twin that had just popped up in greeting.

She quickly went down the stairs she turned around and blushed at him. "Names Luna hope you remember it," She contuned to walk backwards and waved a little embarresed at her human action. She blushed brighter and turned walking back down the ally she came from.

She ran down the ally not making a noise she hummed the music in her head she knew it wasn't by him but he was going to play it. She felt excited yet stupid at the same time. She went down a few block to the hide out she found for her clan to be safe from the light it was in the subway but a part where it was abandoned. She sang the notes and a guy stopped her before she got even close to the hide out he asked what she was singing. She smiled at the guy,

"Come with me and i will show you?" She purred to him while walking him into an ally for her first meal tonight

There was a very interesting air to Lua's voice. It wasn't exactly protective but it sounded almost jelous. It was weird, Kaos hadn't really heard his brother react like that in a while. But then again, it was usually just the two of them. The ruby-eyed twin almost wasnted to take a peek into the mind of his younger brother, but was surprisingly met by a barrier. Obviously, he didn't want him anywhere near his thoughts at the moment. For now, Kaos brushed it off, and turned back to the girl as she bid farewell. She presented her name as Luna.

"Later." he said to her with a nod, and unrolling the sheet of paper. He turned back to his brother. "So, where'd ya book us tonight? Not the Java Joint again, is it?"

Lua shook his head no. "Not after what happened last week. This night is The Blog. C'mon, let's get going." he said handing over the cased cello to his brother.

"Alright, fine. Why are you bein' so pushy tonight?" he asked disgruntled. "Oh." He smiled at the thought. In fact, he didn't understand why hadn't realized earlier. Lua always got excited when there was a new piece to play. Either that, or he wanted to get as far away from the already gone Luna as possible.

"Hey, sorry about this, but we can only play one song tonight. All the--"

"Why!?" he was outraged about the limitation.

"If you would let me continue. . .all the other places were booked and I was lucky enough that The Blog could slip us into their only open slot which only allows 3 minutes of time. It still gives us plenty of time for Frozen Flame."

"Hah. Okay. Whatever." Kaos was still a little letdown about the sudden limit, but his mind was still a bit confused about his brother. He had never sounded so stern. For now he'd ignore it. But. . .

Luna had wiped her mouth with a cloth and walked out of the ally. She smiled since the song helped her track more people now. She tilted her head feeling alittle bad for using that music like she was.

She wondered around and walked to a club she goes to so she can relax after feeding. 'The blog,' She hummed and crossed to the street seeing it she whistled waving to the owner that knew what she was and liked her and wanted her to change him.

She sat at her table in the back and the drinks began to come that looked like red wine but wasn't. She smiled and took the cup, 'He knows how to treat people.'

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓

Landon took a deep breath as he stepped out into the warm air of the autumn night. It had been such a long time since a night like this had occurred. Vibrant yellow, red and orange leaves danced as a light breeze blew, sending a shiver down his spine. He chuckled to himself as he passed the brothers of the Lasombra clan, coolly he brushed by them with an air of self confidence. After all it was hunting night for most of the races, and being a Toreador meant he’d have to be quite the ladies man tonight. Landon had over heard their discussion and couldn’t help but let the child like chuckle emit from his lips, as he made his way to the side walk distancing himself from the dishevelled remains of his home.

He had known the brothers for many years now, seeing as how their clans had shared the same building. Landon has always enjoyed the company of his clan and the other yet during times of feeding Toreador and Lasombra had been known to become a little hostile around one another. For this reason he would be hunting alone tonight. Pausing just out of the boys sight he hollered to the pair “I’ll be back later, sorry I couldn’t come tonight.” His voice rang with sincerity as he pressed on down the brightly lit street.

(Sorry for the short post and the lateness of my postage ;A; they will get better I promise)

As Kaos and Lua neared the entrance of the coffee shop titled The Blog, a wave of self-confidence rolled over them. They turned to see Landon, clan leader of the emotion vampires, wishing them luck the only way a Toreador knew how. They smiled at him, and Lua waved. They didn't need to read his mind to know he was planning to feed tonight.

Kaos stepped forward, and pulled open the door to the cafe where they were instantly greeted by the overpowering smell of ground coffee beans and fresh baked pastries. Inside of the cozy hangout was surprisingly crowded, and the lights were dimmed to create a relaxing atmosphere. Ugh. They were late. Kaos and Lua skirted the sides of the club, and slid into the back of the stage where everyone else was preparing. The twins unpacked their instruments.

"Lua, could you pass me an extra sheet? I need to get some notes down for the piano."

"Right." he replied handing a few. With a quick hand, Kaos managed to scribble down a whole sheet of music in less than a minute. He handed it to the piano player, and then went over to the computer to charge up his zune.

"Hurry!" Lua echoed into his brother's mind.

"And now for our next act, the Strings Brothers Kaos and Lua, with a new composition of theirs, Frozen Flame." a deep slow voice sighed from the speakers of the cafe. Sounds of snapping undulated across the room like the midnight sound of crickets. The lights dimmed to its lowest, and a single blue-tinted spotlight centered the stage. Lua was the first to appear on stage. Then his brother. And they began to play.

Lua began, and out with three long slurred notes, which was soon followed by an ambience of his brother's cello along with the band who remained unseen. The violin kept its slow and serene pace while the other instruments played quickly, almost frantic, and the combination gave off an eerie tone, especially when it came to the brief violin solo. The playful rhythm teased ears with the soft pizzicato. At this moment, the twins were one. One in mind and music, the haunting harmony filled the room, painting mysterious pictures in everyone's mind, until the music faded away. . .

Once again, the chirping snaps echoed across the room. The twins' eyes skimmed over their audience, reading minds for their unspoken reviews as they took a bow. They had done pretty well tonight. Lua seemed a tad annoyed. It seemed he spotted Luna.

Echo roamed the streets, her head looking down, her hands crossed on her chest. She was very troubled, Her eyes sensed a man near her. She ignored him and walked on. She walked to the edge on the forest and walked to a near by tree. She leaned lightly on it. Her hands traveled down the trunk. She listened hard, she heard voices, dark evil voices. She tried pushing them away. Her veins pulsed more blood as her breathing worked harder.

Another night of feeding. Another night of shame. At least Myu had just rid the world of another *****. After she had wiped the tears from her eyes, she began digging through the cabinets in the kitchen for candy. It was the only thing she really looked forward to after she sucked a man's emotion's dry. She finished checking the lower cabinets, and it was now time to check the higher ones. There they were. A whole stock of candy, including her most favorites, Pixy Sticks and Pocky. She grabbed as much as she could and shoved them into her pink schoolbag she had obtained a few years ago. When she had finished plundering the kitchen, her bag was so full, it looked like someone had stuffed two whole pillows in there, and aided by her vampiric strength, it felt the same as well. It was now time to leave.

Of course she could stay in the man's apartment until the next time before she moved on, but too many scarring memories had followed her there, as it did with the residences of her other 'victims'. How strange, she still felt like the victim, no matter who benefited more from her visits.

Myu poked her head out the door, looking both ways before stepping out onto the sidewalk. There weren't many people out at this time, but she didn't want to be seen, just in case someone like the guy she fed off of was hanging around. She took another look around before sneaking into an alley, spotting a girl who seemed to be hugging a tree, or at least, that's what she thought she saw. People like that didn't hang around at this time of night.

Now she cruised the back alleys, hopping over trash cans, and dodging garbage puddles, as well as avoiding stray dogs. She didn't know where she was going, she didn't have any plans, just to find somewhere comfortable to stay when morning hit. After a while, the alley had ended, dropping her in a very quiet and empty part of the city, where a large old abandoned hotel seemed to grace a whole block. That could work.

Little Myu approached the door, and turned the old knob. The door welcomed her with a creak as it opened. Hm. It looked a lot bigger inside. Then again, there wasn't much decoration except for the ancient paint peeling off the walls, and the faded cracked tiles beneath her shoes.

It seemed a while as she wandered the halls of each floor for a room. She wanted to find one with a bed, which many seemed to lack, and at the first one she saw, she hopped onto it, and dumped out her candy. Myu picked out a lollipop, and sucked on it thoughtfully, finally observing her new surroundings. By the looks of it, it almost seemed as though somebody lived in this room. . .

Luna raised an eyebrow shocked that the twind were there she wasn't sure if she should be happy or not. She raised her drink and snapped while she sipped from her drink. She knew one of them noticed her and chuckled a little. She would get up and say hello but noticed one didn't like her so didn't see a point in saying anything.

She looked for the owner and smiled calling him over with a smile. He came quickly and took her cup and replaced it. She touched to see if it was cool it was warm, "Thank you so much," she purred out to him.
