N ɘ ʋ e ɾX give up

╔-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-╗

He was royally pissed, as he stormed down the stairs though he wasn’t quite sure as to why. Ether found himself receiving another pang in his chest cavity when he bolted pass Lua, of all people. Needless to say he was feeling less than proud with himself, and by the time he made it down the final flight of stairs and outside, warm tears had already made their way over the rims of his eyes. The blonde was so confused, should he apologize, was the redhead simply over reacting, or was E really in the wrong, and why was his conscience paying him a visit after all these years?

His emotions were out of whack and Ral wasn’t quite sure how to put them back in their place. He was still running his subconscious taking over when his legs got heavier with every stride he took. His pace slowed gradually, getting slower and slower until it came to an abrupt stop. His anger had subsided as did, surprisingly, his chest pain. When he looked around and took in his surroundings Ether found that he was a good few blocks away from home, the distance seemingly helping as his pain had ebbed, in some empty alleyway between two less than attractive. It didn’t bother him too much, in fact the platinum blonde quite enjoyed the solitude with no one there but the rain that kept coming in sheets making his long-since damp, skin tight clothing cling to him all the more. Holding his head down, he sank to the floor, trying desperately to keep him from crying all over again. He failed miserably, and instead chose to lift his head toward the skies in an attempt to camouflage his tears into the pouring rain a sob wracking his slim frame.

‘How much time has passed I wonder…minutes…hours…’ he thought his eyes slipping closed to shield them from the onslaught of rain.

Upon opening his eyes, he caught something white in his periph. ‘Was that—no it couldn’t be. Just how long have I been out here?’ E thought to himself, looking around again to see if his internal clock would give him some idea of what time of day it was. When one wasn’t given, he stood up slowly and using one of the brick walls as a means to keep himself from falling, made his way to the edge of the wall. ‘I have to be 100% sure it can’t be him… Can it?’ he breathed out, the words spoken just below a whisper. Sticking his neck out until for some reason his body seemed to have a mind of its own. He was advancing on the other who stopped suddenly, almost as if he were waiting for Ether, giving him the much needed time to close the large gap between the two.

“Good.” he chimed in response, worry washed from his face. She was fine a minute a go, “I’ll have to discuss some things in private with you both when your settled, if you don’t mind.” he added pointedly. Lan had though it better to discuss feeding habits and practices in private, seeing as how things can become rather intimate while feeding. Obviously, I think I participated in quite the example. Uh and in front of the girl. Exhaling heavily, another wave of sadness struck him. The last thing he had wanted to do was hurt E. “…Maybe I will!…Don’t wait up.” the silvery blonds words echoed in the back of is mind. God damn! He brought his focus back to Smith who had swayed as she was brought to her feet.

Sliding his free arm around Smiths waist he pulled her closer to him straightening out her posture. “You sure your going to make it.” His eye moved momentarily to Myu, feeling her clutch the loose fabric around his forearm. The child like creature seemed to have a knack for bringing a smile to his face. She had on several occasions reminded him of his younger cousins. In a fluid like movement Landon had removed his hand from Payden’s waist to Myu’s. Lifting her with a firm grip he placed her on his back, supporting her just under the knees. She was as light as a feather, and warm against his back. He could smell the sweets that she had still contained in her knapsack.

“If you want down just let me know, kay.”
Landon said, addressing the small vampire as he began to make his way down the hall, naturally assuming that the new female would follow. Heels of his boots clicking lightly as he made a steady pace down the hall. “So what brings you to the Rose?” He questioned more focused on the hall in front of him, then the femal behind him, they were approaching Ethers room. A small piece of him wished he had just not spoken out about the situation.

She nodded at his statement; easily guessing at what Landon would need to speak with them in private about. Feeding. I guess it wouldn’t exactly get covered in pleasant chit-chat. She thought wryly to herself, her lips curling up at the tips at the thought. Truth be told, she was eager to feed. Given the events of the day, it was normal that she would be hungry. However, she had no idea of the layout of this particular section of New York. She would be lost at where to look for her next meal. The results of which would be more than disturbing.

She quivered slightly at his touch, a flush rising near her chest and collarbone. Definitely past feeding time. The blunt thought automatically entered her mind, pushing all other fantasies to the back of her mind. ”Thanks. She spoke quickly, both grateful and disappointed when his arm unwrapped from around her waist to tend to the little one.

Her feet instinctively started moving, following the man in front of her. She dragged her attention from the erotic images stubbornly filling her mind, struggling and reluctantly pushing them from her thoughts. ”Just an old acquaintance. He recommended it to me. After I spent half a century exploring North America I found myself slowly migrating here.” She answered steadily, disguising the seductive lure in her voice with an increase in volume. Great. Past feeding time and my instincts are trying to seduce the leader of my clan to feed on. Perfect.

{OOC: No worries, you are alive. ‘Tis all that matters. I apologize for the crap post. >.< Sorry. Total writers block. It is evil.}

Kaos shut his eyes when he felt the soft contact of her lips with his own. A soft moan reverberated from his throat as he tangled his fingers through her silken black hair, and sliding his palm to the nape of her neck, pressing her closer to his body. A wet pink tongue eased past his lips, caressing hers lovingly, and licking at the pointed edges of her fangs. His opposite hand moved from her waist, to the small of her back, pushing her nearer. The only thought he held at the moment was how much he wanted her. "You're mine." he echoed into her mind. The sentence was firm, yet it sounded so gentle, his affection adding certain softness to the words.

It was getting late, and there was still no sign of Ether. Lua opted to take a break, and sat himself down on an empty bust stop, wiping off the rain-dotted seat before sitting. A sigh escaped his lips as he went through a mental checklist of E's most visited places, and , telling by the current results, there was still no luck.

"Alright, Lua. You know what you have to do." the black-haired vampire said to himself. He was going to his last resort. Something he had tried to avoid for four years. With a deep breath, he sat back, and slowly closed his eyes allowing his mind to wander. It felt like hours before he honed on Ether's. Lua finally released his moral bonds, that he himself had put up, and allowed himself to reach out, and gently embrace E's Mind. It was a shock for the Lasombra. Though it wasn't his first time, it felt like he took in so many thoughts at once. He found himself feeling what Raliss was thinking, and feeling what he was feeling. Right now, that Toreador felt lost and confused, his thoughts shifting through what had happened previously with Landon. The intimate feeding that ended sharply with a fight. Lua found himself reading through every last moment, until he realized he had to stop himself. He feared that after what had happened, Ether would refuse to come back home. Maybe Lua could give the confused vampire a bit of guidance.

Lua had to admit he was out of practice, seeing that he didn't often exercise his psychic abilities as much as everybody else in his clan, except to communicate with others. With this in mind, he knew what he was about to do was going to be difficult for him.

"Ether. . .it's Lua. You'll find my voice hard to resist at the moment. Not only because you find it appealing, but because it is also soothing to you, helping you relax and clear your mind.. ." Lua began in his soft young voice, subtly manipulating the Toreador "You're lost, but you wish to find me, your heart drawing you near. Though the rain dulls your senses, your affection will help you find your way. Come receive comfort from the one you love."

With that, Lua opened his eyes, returning his vision to his wet gray surroundings. He could feel that after his psychic adventure, he felt himself drained of energy. With sapphire eyes, he gazed at the dark clouds above that obscured the moonlight. After pushing himself more than usual, he knew he was going to have to stay in the hotel until the weather cleared up enough for him to feed again. Maybe he could take a short rest. If he could close his eyes. . .just for a moment. . .

Myu watched with quiet curiosity as Landon helped Payden up and regain her balance. The blonde looked like she recovered quite quickly, and now sounded excited at the moment. Perhaps too much. Maybe she was reading too into it. The little one had a tendency to do that when she wanted to understand someone or something. A permanent childlike curiosity that had been nailed to her personality

A sudden smooth movement from behind caught a bit off guard, startling her. It was Landon, who had taken the liberty of lifting her off the floor, and settling her on his back, his strong shoulders supporting her beneath her knees. It didn't take her too long to figure out what he had done. when she regained her balanced, she hung her arms loosely around his neck, and nuzzled her cheek into red spiked hair. Myu had not been given a ride like this in a little over 40 years. It brought back bittersweet memories when her papa was still alive. The days when papa would run around the backyard with her on his shoulders, her arms spread out wide as she pretended to be a bird soaring effortlessly through the air. Just for a moment, and only a moment, she had found herself resisting the urge to do the same while she rode on Landon's shoulders

“If you want down just let me know, kay.”

The little vampire responded with a nod that she wasn't sure he saw. She didn't worry, though she had a feeling he knew that she understood.

A sharp chill jolted up her spine hearing Payden's voice. It had changed to a smooth slightly seductive tone that Myu was too familiar with. Maybe it was the fact that she was accustomed to the tone that she had overreacted too much. The brown-eyed vampire had gotten a little frustrated, freezing up for no apparent reason. She hated being so skittish, but with a past like hers, it was difficult to avoid. With a sigh, she relaxed, resting her cheek in Landon's flaming red head of hair.

Luna was startled but relaxed one she realized what he was doing. She moved closer to him and put a hand to the back of his neck and kissed him deeper. She was enjoying it more than she thought.

She kissed him harder as soon as she heard his words. She put her hands to his shoulder and brought her mouth away from his and gave a sly smile. "I am and you are mine," she purred out to him then pressed him into the wall. "Agreed," she tilted her head still smiling at him.

She pressed into him she couldn't help but tease him. She moved her mouth to his and nibbled on his lip.

He could feel the little ones legs tense up around his shoulders, squeezing them like a small vice. Must be from the raise in Smiths voice, she can be quite skittish at times. She relaxed only moments after the braided blond haired vampire gave her reply, confirming his original thought. It hadn’t been odd at all that she was recommended to the hotel, in fact he had been directed to live at the Rose. Yet some would stumble upon the decrepit manor, as a place of shelter and learn to call it home. There was always a continuous flow, some would stay while others indefinitely parted their way. Landon had gradually climbed through the ranks to become the leader, as the other Toreadors left to carve their own dark path. The Rose is my home, I don’t know what I’d do if we ever parted. Lan thought momentarily pausing at an open door.

“That’s not unusual here. How long did it take you to migrate from the North? I’ve never been there myself, I cant seem to bring myself to abandon this place.” he asked curiosity striking a motive in him. Lan huffed shaking his head lightly, as to not disturb the others who was resting upon his own. “No this isn’t it, Payden if you see a room with an open door that you’d like it’s yours. Don’t hesitate, just make yourself at home.” He had forgotten, like an idiot to inform her of the option. “All rooms have their own bathroom, water hasn’t been turned off from this place for some reason.” He chuckled picking up his pace continuing right down the hall.

“Myu the same goes for you, any room you’d like.” he spoke softly as they passed several open doors. “There are also rooms closer to mine if that would be better for you.” he questioned quietly, he didn’t know if she was quite comfortable being here yet. He stopped at the mid point of the hall. “You can always check in with me, I’ll understand.” he’d added extending his arms to cup her under arms lifting her from his shoulders with ease. After all physically she was smaller than him but he knew better than to just assume she was stuck at the mental age of thirteen. He placed her on her feet on the floor in front of him. “So, you lead. Where to? Don’t forget you have your pencil and paper.”

(( OOC~ I think I've had worse block than that, your good don't worry about it : D ))

Jan sauntered through the unceasing rain, his posture much different than usual. It looked like the very weight of the rain had bent his form, giving an eerie hunched over shady appearance. Of course, it wasn't the precipitation that gave him such a sketchy look, but his current state of mind. He had found himself suddenly excited in the past few minutes, an acquired effect from the coffee he had downed back at the Java Joint. It wasn't just the caffeine, but its effects combined with his thirst for blood. Jan had subconsciously switched off his mind, and flipped on his instinctual side.

He was getting closer to the hotel, and had yet to find someone to feed on. Not that he minded...too much...but he probably would be a small threat to the residents of the Rose, and possibly kicked out for his ignorance. It’s happened before, just not at the Rose. Not yet...He dismissed the thought quickly, for at the moment, his senses had picked up on some form of life, the hidden scent of blood calling him.

In the next alleyway, he made a sharp turn around the corner, his sight quickly landing on a silver haired boy who was emerging from the depths of the alley. Hunter had no time to think, he grabbed his prey by the shoulders, slamming their back into the concrete of a nearby wall. Jan's fangs itched as he zeroed in on the kid's jugular. He reared his head back, then plunged the sharpened points of his canines into the male's neck, slowly lapping at the sanguine liquid that oozed from the punctures. But something felt wrong. It was the blood. It didn't feel satisfyingly warm like a human's, but a little cooler in temperature, and thicker as well. . .

"-- da hell!?" Hunter questioned, the drive of instinct fading away as it was replaced with a torrent of questions.

The confused vampire lifted his head back from the victim's neck, and stumbled back a few steps, this time getting a better look at the one he had just bitten. Those familiar sliver locks clinging to the wet features of a face perched on a thin frame. "Ah--a..." he stuttered, deflating from shame, ". . .uuh. . I'm. . . ." And before he could finish his malformed sentence, the Ventrue fled, bolting in the direction of the Hotel.

The brown-eyed child listened quietly to Landon and Payden's conversation. Travel. . .Myu had done much of that in her lifetime. She was from another country nearly on the opposite side of the world. She hadn't really given it any thought until now. Perhaps it was because she was distracted by the scarring events that took place between the different times she had moved. To be honest, she still wasn't completely sure how she ended up in New York after travelling for years within Asia. Then again, 50 years did leave a lot of room for moving between countries.

She looked left and right to the sides of the halls to the different rooms that they passed. So this old hotel still had some form of plumbing. . .That was a bit eerie, she would admit, but very convenient. She felt herself rising slowly off of Landon's shoulders as he lifted her off. She was a little disappointed that her ride ended.

“So, you lead. Where to? Don’t forget you have your pencil and paper.”

Myu looked down the hall both ways before grabbing hold of three of his fingers, and tugging him in the direction of his room. She stopped at the room right next to it, then turned her gaze back to Landon. She wanted to reside in this room for now. The little vampire had decided that with the numerous vacant rooms in the hotel, she could always move, though she doubted that it would happen any time soon.

A sheepish smile curled her lips up at the corners as she reminisced how she had lazily tracked her way over to the U.S. She was determined to speak as little as possible, fearing that her seductive tone would be discovered. The first time I have ever disliked being a Toreador for fifty-eight years, and it is because I am subconsciously luring Landon. I knew I should have fed on that drug dealer yesterday… She was quite miffed with herself over her poor decision. Ah well, I will simply eat tonight, once I get a room I can slip out and pick someone then.

”I wandered around quite a bit, it took me thirty-nine years.” Smith knew she was sounding odd, her sentences choppy as if she had trouble focusing on a single thing for too long. But, the less she spoke until she fed, the better. She nodded at his back as a response to his second remark, not daring to open her mouth more than needed.

”Payden if you see a room with an open door that you’d like it’s yours.”

A whimsical expression filled her face, her own room! The last time she had her own room, it was in an attic when she had been a nanny…fifty-some years ago…With sloped walls on either side, a small circular window facing the street a nice single bed pushed against it so that she would be greeted by the sunlight in as she woke up and the moonlight as she went to sleep. That would be what she would look for, a room with as many windows as possible…and a sloped roof. They continued walking past many vacant rooms, Payden passed a particularly run-down one; she slowed her pace and backtracked to peer into the dark chamber.

It was a spacious room, with three large rectangular windows boarded over and torn curtains hanging beside were on the wall opposite the entrance to the room. Two small, tarnished Victorian lanterns suspending on either side of the door, a larger more ornate chandelier with half of the crystal droplets collected in a pile on the floor was bolted into the centre of the ceiling. She wandered in, frosted blue eyes focusing on the doorframe lacking a door that she presumed led to the bathroom. She paused at the frame of the door and peeked in- it had a sloped roof! And it looked as if whoever last lived in the room-had been working on renovating the bathroom, but not the bedroom. It was gorgeous! It looks as if I will be living in my bathroom for a bit, until I get the bedroom looking this stunning. She thought with a wry smile on her face, she was hooked. She was curious as to who had last claimed the room, obviously some vampire who was a contractor…and designer….and plumber…she chuckled at the thought. Well, she had chosen her room; it was three doors closer to the staircase than Landon’s and on the opposite side of the hallway.

She slid her quilted bag from her shoulder and dropped it inside the doorway before walking out just in time to hear Landon tell Myu that she had pencil and paper. Why would the sweet thing need pencil and paper? Is she that shy…it would be understandable seeing what the poor girl has to do to nourish herself…but… She ended up deciding on asking Landon later, when he would talk to her about the presumed subject of ‘feeding’. She smiled affectionately at the girl as she chose a room next to their leader, Smart girl.

Derek was happily munching on a large organic carrot; it was his second course after feasting on a large birch in the park. He was sprawled on his large king sized bed, centred in the narrow room, pushed against the opposing wall of the entrance to the room. A single large square window rose a few inches above the mattress, the only source of light in the bedchamber. The chandelier had been more a hazard than it had been worth so it had been taken down and put in another room. The only piece of furniture was the bed; Derek was a minimalist.

A modern curtain hung from the doorway that lead to the bathroom, the door long since deteriorated. The bathroom still contained its originally installed vanity, gilded mirror, claw-foot bathtub and old toilet. It was dated, and the only ornamentation that had been added by Derek was three luxurious towels in the linen closet, where his clothes were also stored. The vampire enjoyed his living quarters, it was something that was constant and remained unchanged, the only thing that ever really remained unchanged in his life. It wasn’t that he didn’t like change, no, he adored it. But it was always nice to return to something that was fixed. Not that he never changed anything in his quarters, no. ’Just last week I added another towel.’ He thought proudly to himself, taking another large bite out of his now stub of a carrot.

There were voices a few floors up, having nothing better to do, as well as curious to know what the Toreador Captain was doing Derek got off his bed and left his room. He glanced up at the two flights of stairs, and with a shrug started to walk up the steep incline at a leisurely pace. He would get there when he got there. ’Judging by their voices I am guessing they ain’t in any rush either.’ The psychic vampire consoled himself, destroying the little bit of doubt that the vampires above him would be leaving soon.

His leafy, tinted, observant eye peered in Payden’s direction. Watching silently as she chose a room only a few doors away from his own, on the opposite side. I’ll talk to her when I’ve finished setting the young one up. He thought, nodding quietly to himself as Myu took hold of Landon’s fingers in her own child like palm. He’d done the same thing long ago as a child. Her attempt to direct Landon had worked. He began to follow her in the direction of his own door. I thought she might choose that one. Another smile had been building, he could feel it tugging at the corners of his mouth.

She had stopped at the room right next to his own. “This one, you’ll like it. It’s got quite nice bedding and the bathroom is in quite good condition.” He returned her brown eyed gaze with one of his own, moving his slender fingers to slip over her shoulders. Giving his wrists a quick snap he had turned her light frame to face the vacant room she would soon occupy. “I’m going to have to speak to you about feeding. Love I know it is defiantly not a topic you are the most comfortable with. I just want to see if I can help. That is if you want my help. Oh! If you have any question don’t hesitate to ask.” He hadn’t waited for her to reply before ushering her into the room. Lan kept his hands lightly on her rounded shoulders, using his momentum to push them both in. He turned on one heel closing the door with a click.

“You see I’m about two hundred years of age now and, I’ve been working on this technique.” He stated voice a tad uneasy. He had only managed to do it once in a while, It wasn’t like it was unheard of. The elder vampires fangs gleamed, as he bit his lip in contemplation.

Feeding through touch. Only the eldest of the Toreadors could pull it off. Landon had on occasion, for quick recharges of his vigour, been able to pull it off. It just takes so long, maybe setting her up with ’play dates’ would be better. Cocking his head to the right he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.

“This one, you’ll like it. It’s got quite nice bedding and the bathroom is in quite good condition.”

She felt his gentle hold smooth over her slender shoulders, and in one effortless movement, turned her to face her new room. She pushed open the wooden door to see a cozy looking setup. A twin-sized be was pushed up into the left corner the head put against the back wall. It was dressed in an elegant lacy light blue quilt, that possessed a few tears towards the edges. The only window in the room, hung on the left wall so that moonlight or sunlight would pour over the foot of the bed. The curtains that draped it matched the bed. An oak nightstand sat on the right of the bed, graced with an ornate lamp with a light blue lampshade. The door to the bathroom was a few feet away from it, though Myu could not see inside, due to the fact that it was closed. On the opposite wall, to the left of the entrance, was a short dresser drawer, crowned with a vanity mirror with an ornate lamp on each side. As she stepped in, she could see a walk-in closet on the right side of the room that had the double doors missing. The piece that probably most accented the room was the lacy gray round rug in the middle that was covered in a layer of dust like every other surface in the room. Landon was right. This new home was nice, in her opinion. A very faint smile flitted across her features.

“I’m going to have to speak to you about feeding. Love I know it is defiantly not a topic you are the most comfortable with. I just want to see if I can help. That is if you want my help." Myu squirmed a bit. Feeding was the last thing she wanted to talk about. But she did want help. A worried expression shrouded her face. "Oh! If you have any question, don’t hesitate to ask.” She replied with a nod, and slid one strap of her backpack off her shoulder, so that she could reach into the bag and pull out her paper and pencil. Just in case. She was successful with this, but noticed something missing among the many candy wrappers and sweets that filled the bag. Her bunny was still in Landon's room.

It didn't take long before Jan reached the aged rusted gates of the old Crimson Rose Hotel. With the combination of his vampire speed, and utter panic, he could have created a sonic boom. What had just happened. . . he knew there would be some kind of consequence, but he couldn't shake this mind consuming thirst that pulsed painfully throughout his entire undead body. Red eyes nearly glowed behind the yellow lenses of his glasses, pupils narrowing down to slitted pinpoints, his sharpened fangs itching with furious hunger. A hunger he had difficulty controlling. The Ventrue nervously gnawed on his neon green rubber bone, shrill squeaks escaping the poor toy, in hopes that it would ease his bloodthirsty urge.

"Wh-what in the world did I do?" Hunter panted as he crawled through the gates of the hotel, and standing himself up against the pale rotting frame of the front door. For a second, his mind flashed back to that moment, the feeling of shameless desperation driving him to cannibalism. He needed to isolate himself, before anything else went wrong. "If I could just get to my room. . . at least till the afternoon." Jan leaned on the door, opening it with the weight of his body, and stumbled into the wrecked building.

"Wait! My meds!" Hunter exclaimed, the thought suddenly occurring to him. He frantically felt around on the wet leather of his black jacket in search of his pills. After a minute of searching, he located an orange cylindrical bottle with what used to be a white label slapped on it. He had scribbled on it with permanent marker a few weeks ago out of hatrid of them. The vampire was so nervous at the moment; he ended up crushing the bottle, and all its contents into orange shards and powder. "GYYYAAAAAAH!" he screamed in frustration, as he dropped to his knees. He bent himself over the pile, panting nervously, and scattering the powdered pills across the cracked marble tile.

After mounting the last few steps, he first noticed a pale blond poking her head out of a doorway. ’Well, she is new. It seems Landon is expanding his clan.’ He thought, a smirk on his features, which he quickly erased, and in its place lifted his lips into an exuberant smile. ’With any luck she will think I am friendly. Without luck, she will think I a creepy guy smiling a little to nicely.’ The vampire thought to himself, he was shooting for the first option. He hid his mild disappointment, as there was no signs of the Clan leader but shrugged it off. ’He has to return eventually.’ The vampire reasoned with himself.

”Hey there. I’m Derek from a few floors down.” He answered with confidence his exuberant smile still plastered on his face. Vaughn leaned against the wall, assuming a ‘cool guy’ pose like he had in high school to pick up girls. It hadn’t worked too well back then, but this was fifty years later and he was willing to give it another shot. He jolted slightly as a scream echoed up the stairwell, he peered in the direction of noise wide-eyed. ”I hope that’s not the new alarm system.” He joked.
