It had been a long and arduous day as Copperkey lifted herself up from one step to the next, her emerald gaze seeking refuge in the stained glass windows of the front door. As she ventured up the porch her mind wound about the adventure she'd carried over into this world, a single slender piece of jewelry tightly clasped in her right hand. She stared at the rouge-hued jewel and let out a long sigh, then as quickly as she had carried it, she submerged it into her pant pocket and opened the door.
"Ark...? Are you home?" She called out, the flicker of lights bringing the building to life as she stepped through the door. A single ball of fur hopped down from the second floor and greeted the tired young lady. Key scooped up the cat and pressed it close.
"Did our night guest find what he was after?" She murmured into his silver coat. The feline purred and the young lady nodded. "I wish I had been home, I would have offered him a room."
She looked toward the back of the parlor and smiled.
"Still can if he's still around."
